Still waiting for the PSM license approval? – You might not get it in time…
In the past weeks we have told you that it would be a good idea to get yourself approved for Playstation Mobile, and its publishing programm.
After Sony has massively reduced to number of approved people for their publisher license, they have now completely stopped approving new publishers.
As you can see on the following playstation website, Sony states that the final day for submitting new PSM applications will be the 31st May 2015, which is less than a week (as of now).
This has been known since a few weeks. New additional information has been added, which now states that Sony is not going to approve any more publishers for the PSM program.
Since getting a PSM publisher license doesn’t seem to be a definite necessity anymore, this should not prevent you from using Yifan Lu’s upcoming PSM hack.

What’s about the Demo to start? Is still needed?
According to Yifan Lu, the only thing you need is the PSM Dev Assistant on your PSVita.
The demo was never needed. That was just to make sure hit had everything set up correctly. You can’t run the demos without the publisher licence, so no you don’t need them.

Yeah, I luckily got my licence within the last 24 hours and launched a demo. Even though it’s not that much of a necessity now, who knows. Maybe having it will allow better privileges later on.
Maybe faster or more easy but not better.

I applied this very morning. So this stopped just about a phew hours ago.

Can you not read? It clearly stated that the application process has ended. This includes all OLD and NEW applications. It takes days to publish an app, for legitimate devs, there is no use applying or receiving the license at this point.

Glad it isn’t needed anymore because I have been to the point of needing to generate a key since the start of this mad grab. Never did get approved… Atleast I didn’t get a list of reasons why I couldn’t :->
What should I do if I was approved but had my PSN account banned? I have the PSM Dev Assistant on my 3.50 VIta.
Also, will it be possible to change make a new PSN account and be able to use the PSM hack too? I’m still interested in purchasing games from the PS Store.

I think mine was approved after they asked me to send them my game title and in game screenshot,but alas…rejected because I provide wrong postcode. I apply back with corrected postcode on friday.but that’s a holiday. And they stop approving begin monday? What the F***
Hello. My vita is on 3.18 but i haven’t licence for psm… I haven’t ps3 so do you think i must update my vita for download assistant manager app? I will loose my exploit game but i think a vita hack is more important but i will loose the package installer too… So what is the best solution for me?
Buy a cheap PS TV, update it to latest firmware and activate it on the same account your Vita is on, then you can download the Assistant on that, back it up to QCMA and put it on your 3.18 Vita 🙂
Unfortunately it would appear your best option is to update and install the app. Just curious, does anyone know why exactly you can’t just use the Package Installer trick on 3.18 to install the PSM Dev Assistant?
I read somewhere that, thaks to the PKG installer, you can install the PSM SDK without updating. maybe do some research.
I was approved early this morning after a two week wait. I am going to run a demo on my 3.18 vita and 3.51 vita just to be safe. Just in time!

Annoyingly I can’t redownload PSM from my ps3 and transfer it. Looks like I’ll have to update to 3.51.
Just to clarify, if I update can I redownload the dev assistant? I originally had it 2 years ago on my vita.
Does anyone have experiences with downloading PSM manager in an unsupported region? I don’t want to update and end up with nothink.
So I finally got my licence but I decided to update to 3.51 because of 3 reasons
1.) A f**kton of PS+ shizz that’s been building up
2.) In the end, I can just revert back to an old backup of the vita I made ages ago
3.) Yes, the themes got to me. [But senpai, they were so tasteful].

I may be wrong, but I think restoring a backup doesn’t let you to go back to an older firmware. So basically there is no turning back.
Since I never had a PSP, I gotta admit that the ePSP hack was more than I ever dreamed, yet, being unable to connect to the PSN is quite frustrating (even though I’m not a pS+ user)
I’m really glad that I applied back in 2012 On a whim. I never ended up doing anything, but I did it back when people had made remote play stuff for the PC using the dev assisstant and I wanted to try it out. I look forward to seeing what Yifan Lu does with this for the hacking scene.
Did Yifan Lu said it directly that there is would be hack (or something similar)?
pitydafool, an old backup will NOT restore your old firmware
Actually ‘dragng8’, it does. I made this backup awhile back and what I did was completely reset the vita, hooked up CMA and imported the backup. Then all I had to do then was load the exploit and jobs a good one.

Cara, a sony, nao esta mais dando licença para ninguem. para quem nao tem basta instalar o psm dev em seu vita e aguardar yifan. antes precisava dessa licença, mas agora segunda yifan nao precisa mais. so precisa que seja instalado o psm dev.

cara, no seu caso, vc tem nao precisa atualizar. vc pode instalar o psm dev e depois o pkg. olha nos posts antigos que esta explicando como instalar o psm para quem tem 3.18.

No word of Unity being needed as of yet. You only need the regular dev app. I would suggest getting both and backing them up though, just to be on the safe side.

No, there is another one. There is one for psm sdk and unity. I would get both, just to be safe.

I think sony patched in 3.51. i can transfer in ps3, but in pc no.
Just an independent thought, why doesn’t he just release the info about it now since it’s very unlikely for anyone to be getting a licence now since they’ve stopped accepting applications. Plus the fact that people who DON’T get a licence isn’t a problem any more.

Finally got accepted. But then I forgot my Vita is still on 3.18. Oh well.
It works on 3.18 just to the /talk forums and look under tutorials.. you will need a ps3 thought so if you don’t have one I would update your vita
PSM officially closed today on the 30th but I got accepted. Can I still use the those tutorials you were mentioning about?
