PeXploit 1.0 released [PS3]
PeXploit is a GUI for Kakaroto’s ps3xport. It lets people install pkg files on Official Firmwares 4.66 and above.
Developer TheDarkProgrammer released version 1.0 of PeXploit a couple days ago. PeXploit 1.0 fixes a few bugs, introduces a new theme selector, streamlines the user interface, and overall works faster.
If you have a PS3 on Official Firmware, you might want to give PeXploit a try.
PeXploit: How to use
PeXploit is straightforward to use:
- Start your PS3
- Go To System settings > backup utility, and backup the content of your PS3 onto an external drive
- Select your .pkg’s and inject them onto the backup via PeXploit
- Now restore the backup via the backup utility
TheDarkProgrammer has also uploaded a video showcasing PeXploit’s process (the video doesn’t show how to backup your PS3, etc…), for those of you who are interested

What sort of .pkgs can we run, though…? We’re still on OFW so wouldn’t it be pointless?
What I mean is, you can install Multiman and whatever, but you wouldn’t be able to run it…

Of games? No, they need you to have purchased it from the PSN, right? They simply wouldn’t work, I’m sure…

Actually they’re pretty much the only thing that will work. Since we can’t run unsigned code (but we CAN install the pkg) we cannot run homebrew.
You wouldn’t get banned for trying to install a pirated package. It just won’t work if you try to run it. You can install free DLC for games though.
OFW only runs signed EBOOTs with matching license. You can install pirated PKGs, but they won’t run without appropriate licenses, and licenses can’t be pirated on OFW generally (except for .edat ones, but very few worthwhile titles use edat activation).
This can help people install PSM on their Vitas, probably.
Other than that, you could save the PKG of the game that you already own on PSN and save yourself the need to download it on PS3 (the license will be fetched from your PSN account).
Could I use this method to update to a CFW?
Unlikely, But could be possible
No. This is not possible. You can’t update firmwares via .pkg lol
Of course not. All CFWs are still signed with FW 3.55 keys (despite having 4.70 files inside, for example), so FW checker on PS3 with FW 3.56+ will immediately reject it without even looking inside.

yes you mentally challenged pirates, this enables you to pirate and play ALL TEH PS4 GAMEZ ON TEH PS3, converting then up from 720p to 4K is a given…

How do we get the .pkg files of a Free DLC?
For example i have the DLC downloaded on my PS3, how do i turn it into a .pkg file? Is it even possible? Whats with DLC files that were on the store (for free) but got removed. (However you can still download them if they were in your download history)
Finally the Homebrew can run on the OFW PS3 with this tool????

Seriously your all idiots if you have not come across this to begin with.
Firstly you can use this to install games on to your OFW.
Second you need your IDPS for the CFW to get it to work with all features.
Third you can use this to install SOME DLC for games.
Forth you can install homebrew but you cannot launch it or use it in any way.
Fifth I can personally say that it does indeed work.
Sixth there is a small amount of games that this works for and as such don’t expect every game to work. 99% of the games that contain a C00 folder in the .pkg will work with this just like how reactpsn works on CFW.
And finally YOU CANNOT AND WILL NOT EVER BE ABLE TO INSTALL A CFW WITH THIS OR ANY OTHER THING LIKE THIS IF YOU CAN’T GET TO 3.55 OR 3.56 AT THE VERY LATEST.
I have not been banned and have not hearD of anyone else for that matter being banned with using things like this.

I can’t say when people will be punished for using this but a day will come.
Everyone should have realised that it was only a matter of time before CFW users got banned. Hence why I don’t use my main account with things like this or on CFW.

Well I didn’t no what the tool did at first so I read up on it. I mean this is not new news it has been around for quire some time now.
Theoretically with it being out for months most people who use websites like wololo should have come across it before and therefore meaning they should have read about it but most people won’t bother reading. if they did theN they would not need to ask the questions they do In the hopes someone will answer them. heck Google will eveN give you the answer.

I think it works with 4.70 if you aquired your IDPS before updating? Because afaik there’s no public way atm to get IDPS on 4.70…

Does someone know if the program splits the archive file when it’s larger then 4gb? If it doesn’t you are very limited of space/data. This was the problem with the release of kakaroto’s firt program You can only copy a file of max 4gb(fat32). If you have a unjailbreakable ps3 then buy a cobra ode, with this you are still able to access the game folder of your ps3 with a third-party program like multiman for ode. This is much faster, because you don’t need to copy your hdd, you have directly access to it(but not all the folders).
Yes it does split files so you can add as many as you like it will still restore to the PS3 and if it does not with this program try muxport or something else.

22nd is before the 24th, meaning it was posted on PlayStationHaX before PS3HaX, yet PS3HaX is used as source, sounds totally legit.
Well, maybe wololo got his news from PS3Hax and he’s crediting the place he truly got his info from. So yeah, it DOES sound totally legit.
Well he didn’t as he retweeted PlayStationHaX regarding this exact same story on the 22nd, if you can count, that is a full two days before it was posted on PS3HaX.
So he see’s the story on PlayStationHaX 2 days before it was posted on PS3HaX, then waits a full week to post it here, using PS3HaX as the source, not what i call legit.
But what ever, i am more surprised that Wololo would post piracy software, considering the websites stance on piracy and this app is 100% for pirates only, there are no ‘honest’ uses for it.

Hey Greg, as we discussed on twitter this was an honest mistake on my end. The author of the tool posted it himself on ps3hax, so that was as good as it gets in terms of source. I forgot I had retweeted this from you a few days before. If I should stop retweeting your stuff to prevent ambiguity in the future, just say so 😉
Will be more careful in the future, but technically both are valid as sources, since the programmer himself posted on the two sites.
This new pexploit tool doesn’t work properly, i backed up my utility and followed the instructions precisely and and added a few pkg to install on my ofw 4.70 ps3 and i restored the backup, it shows the files that were the pkgs, but as soon as you click on it, the ps3 goes blank and freezes, wont even shut down by the button, i have to pull the hole plug out of my ps3 to turn it off.
Who cares who posted first. Playstationhax or ps3hax. Why you so ***. Your stance on piracy does not concern the wololo community. Reporting news is not the same as condoning piracy.
First, you should include the use-case of the thing, otherwise its not well researched and simply re-published.
Secondly, speculating that there is no valid exploit to launch (self-signed) pkgs, it seems utterly useless.
Lastly, it could be interesting if such exploits are discovered, or there is a way to sign pkgs correctly.
Also, your webserver seems to often become unresponsive. Take a hint and upgrade.

It’s the way these things are packaged. Game cracks and trainers always get false positives because the way they’re packaged.

Could you generate a pkg that can dump the 4.70 ofw keys, CID and PSID into a fake game folder then use that to make a cfw then jailbreak the ps3?
