Game Releases For This Month – May 2015
After a lengthy hiatus, I’ve decided to revive this blog post, as it not only lets me know about upcoming games, but you too!
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition – PS4, Xbox One, PC – May 5
Bundled with all DLC that has been released, it’s practically the same game, in any case,pre-included DLC is always nice.
IGN listed these additional bonuses for the GOTY edition, so I take back what I said about the same game with DLC:
- Story Packs: The Lord of The Hunt and The Bright Lord
- Skins: The Dark Ranger, Captain of the Watch, Lord of the Hunt, The Bright Lord, Power of Shadow and Lithariel Skins
- Runes: Hidden Blade, Deadly Archer, Flame of Anor, Rising Storm, Orc Slayer, Defiant to the End, Elven Grace, Ascendant, One with Nature
- Missions: Guardians of the Flaming Eye, The Berserks and The Skull Crushers Warband Missions
- Challenge Modes: Test of Power, Test of Speed, Test of Wisdom, Endless Challenge, Test of the Wild, Test of the Ring, Test of Defiance Challenge Modes
- Additional Features: Photo Mode
I was under the impression that photo mode already existed in the original one? In any case, there’re quite a few bonuses there to play around with!
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker (3DS) – May 5
I can’t tell you too much about this game, other than it’s for the 3ds and actually looks pretty good, I really dig the art style too. That’s a shame 🙁
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood – PS4, Xbox One, PC – May 5
This game is a standalone DLC, for roughly £15/$20 and is along the same lines as ‘The New Order’ yet set a few years prior. I still haven’t got The New Order, Should I purchase it?
Not a Hero (PC) – May 7
This game is actually made by the same developers as OlliOlli, the pixel design skater game, yet this game is a tad more violent, it looks quite interesting but isn’t for me, unfortunately.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (PS4) – May 12(US) – 15(EU)
I’m not sure whether to purchase this or not, I’ve nearly finished X, I just need to battle Sin but haven’t touched X-2.
Being as the PS4 version features cross save functionality, it’s extremely tempting. In this edition, you have the option to switch between the original soundtrack and the remastered one which featured in the PS Vita and PS3 editions, personally I preferred the remastered versions, they were a lot cleaner and sharp.
Project CARS (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – May 12 (US) – 8 (EU)
Well it’s finally here, I’ve been seeing the game streamed on twitch but haven’t watched it, it’s come a long way and certainly looks beautiful. Here’s the most recent trailer that I could find;
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – May 19
I’m sure we all had this one memorised, no?
I initially had no interest in the game up until the most recent trailer, I may not pick it up straight away but I certainly will soon.
Here’s some new gameplay that I haven’t seen, I’m not sure if you have either:
Farming Simulator PS4, Xbox One – May 19th
I’m not sure which I’m more excited for, being able to slay awesome looking beasts in The Witcher, or pretending to be a farmer in this game…
Magicka 2 (PS4, PC) – May 26
I loved the announcement video for this at E3 last year, definitely gave me a giggle. I’ve never really had any interest in these sorts of games however, unfortunately. If it interests you though, you won’t have much longer to wait!
Ultra Street Fighter IV (PS4) – May 26
Everyone loves a bit of street fighter, I’m personally a Tekken guy, but I’ve got no grudges against SF series, and will always enjoy playing them.
This is something I had to share, if you followed my twitter you would’ve seen how close I was to defeating a boss in bloodborne the other day. I’m a completely different person playing this game….
I totally didn’t swear. GOSH GEE WHIZ #PS4share SO CLOSE!!!!!!!!!! pic.twitter.com/7Lt2UxyOcS

2 dead and one boss with a single attack left to kill him. Rage inducing.
FUSRTST
Lets all work together to make this stop.
Get the new order sometime. Its pretty fun
I keep telling myself I will, but never end up doing so. I’ve got a backlog of PS4 games already anyway! Bloodborne and FF Type-0, so after I get those finished…..
It’ll be time for The Witcher, and then the upcoming PS Plus games, goddammit.
I still want to buy MKX, DmC, Zombie Trilogy…. Eugh.
I just wanted to mention that you were right initially about Shadow of Mordor. The original game did have photo-mode through an update, and all of the GOTY content is available through DLC on PSN. Plus I’m pretty sure that Steins;Gate is getting its English Localisation for PAL this month as well.
Oh okay, thought I saw a few photos from photo mode on reddit, thanks!
I cant understand why these nut sacks (sony) didnt put up numblast in the usa yet. the ps3 version is up but not the psp version very lame. Well at least we can play shin megami and watch the 6 police officers who killed the not so innocent black guy freddy gray.
The new order is surprisingly gritty and good. It’s total badass single-player fps carnage from the jump!
Where is sword art online lost song?
It’s will be released on 12th may
And there also Hyperdimension neptunia rebirth 2 that will be release for pc May 19th
AND Hyperdimension neptunia action U May 19th
I think omega quintet also released yesterday too
You forgot all the niche games
The Shadows of Yharnam are easy. I killed them on my first try. (I nearly died twice tho). You just gotta know where to farm for Blood Echoes. I’m stuck on that Cainhurst boss tho. He *** me off!
