Just my 2 cents: The brazilian PS4 Jailbreak
As a brazilian myself and as a guest blogger here, I feel I have the responsibility to share what I know, think and feel about it. First of all, a full translation (with some grammatical, semantical, punctuation and verbal corrections) of what this company is claiming:
“Good afternoon friends, customers and partners. Here we are to humbly ask everybody to please stop asking about our training on our PS4 games installation system, since we are the pioneers here in Brazil to develop and deploy this solution in a 100% working state, without any help from here inside Brazil nor worldwide. We are proud about the huge demand and about how many people have been trying to reach us about our solution. Thanks for all the trust placed on our work.
Sadly we will only share our knowledge with 12 trusted business partners and retailers spread over the country.
About our fees to insert the game on your console, we will be posting the prices next week so everybody can check them out. About our solution, we are only waiting for 3 more retailers to confirm, so we can launch our product. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been left out, but it’s the only way we can preserve our hard work, since everything that gets too much attention sometimes are bad in the long term for the community. That being said, thanks for all the love and recognition for this awesome work, that was made for you friends, players, customers and videogame-addicted fellows, kkkk (a brbrhuehue informal laugh).”
Please keep in mind that I tried my best to correct everything that I could from the original, that was kinda messy.
Right from the start, let me say that a REALLY don’t believe in the legitimacy of their claims (at least not that they are the authors), but probably not for the same reasons as most. There are a couple of reasons why I think that this is just a publicity stunt.
First of all, as I already mentioned, the text is written in a very poor portuguese (my fellow brazilian readers will mostly agree). People here in Brazil who would have the knowledge and resources to back such claims up, wouldn’t write this way. It was clearly written by a semi-illiterate amateur. Some parts barely make sense, like how can they be “proud about the demand”? Really? People here with the resources and knowledge to do what they claim would have written and elaborated much better. Also, any serious company would not only post a demonstration video, but would also have used a proper website, not a Facebook page.
It’s worth mentioning that people with the skill needed to do such things are very well paid around here doing corporate jobs and it’s unlikely that such people would want to have their name associated with piracy (not hacking) in that form.
Another point is that this “business model” is unheard of: to outsource piracy to retailers and openly advertise it. Although piracy is still rampant around here, it’s kind of a gray market . Even people who sell piracy won’t openly advertise that as piracy, they sell it as “brindes” (loosely translated as bonuses). Here in their annoucement they are claiming to do way more than enabling people to pirate themselves, they are charging people to pirate for them, which is a direct violation of pretty much any EULA, unlike modchips and softmods. Sony is officially here in Brazil, so I doubt that they could sell their “product” without a lawsuit or two on their backs. It’s very funny how trying to stop people to pirate their piracy is exactly what would put them in legal trouble.
Now a little more personal note. As I read in a previous article, many people on comments discredited the said “solution” simply because they showed a (stock) raspiberry image and because “Brazil wouldn’t have the resources to make such a thing”.
Although they used a stock image from google (a fact which I bet few people who criticized knew), the raspberry picture alone doesn’t necessarily mean its a hoax, and here is why: Just now, we got an exploit triggered by a multiplayer game, where a PSVITA connect to a previously hacked device. Although it seriously doubt it will ever be done (and that it’s worth the trouble, since there will probably be an update to block such exploit), the hacked “server” device could be replaced by any device running a software that use emulate the packets sent by the server (considering they are not encrypted) by sniffing the packets and reverse-engineering the packets sent back.
Obviously it would easier (and cheaper) to make such daemon to run on a windows/linux/mac, so everybody could download and use it. But remember that we are talking by a company who is trying to make money, so it would make perfect sense for them to use a raspberry (or even an arduino, if possible) to make an appliance just to run the exploit. It wouldn’t be the first known hardware to exist only to enforce some kind of DRM (as many ps3 dongles). So, the same principle could be applied to the PS4, where it connects to a server through some service already available on the console (like Netflix, a cheap game or whatever) and trigger an exploit. Hacking is about thinking out of the box, so people shouldn’t be so avid to dismiss something just because it’s different.
The second statement about our “lack of resources” is that what actually made me write this article. Quite often I avoid telling people on the internet that I’m brazilian. I think that it was not until today that Wololo learnt that. That’s because I will be the first to admit that we brazilians as a whole can be very impolite, uneducated and ignorant, specially when it comes to netiquette (brbrbrhuehuehue). For instance, when I played MMOs in my teenager years, I tried to hide for as long as I could from other players where I came from, such was (and still is) our reputation online and offline. But let me tell you, we are not all like this:
For that and many other reasons I am not a patriot at all, but it is also ignorant, uneducated and a little racist to claim that we could not make such things. What resources don’t we have? Most modern console hacks are software exploits, and that (great software developers) we have a lot around here. I have at least 5 close friends and acquaintances that are working om companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, IBM and Unity to name a few. There are brazilian Linux kernel developers and maintainers. There are a lot of brazilian companies thriving on TI. And the list goes on….
I myself got my bachelors degree com computer science on a highly regarded (and free) university and I don’t like to brag, but I have knowledge on quite a few technologies like Linux server, python, ruby, rails, C, C#, Assembly, Postgresql and many others. Being brazilian (or any nationality, for that matter) doesn’t make me less capable of learning any of those.
I’m not trying to start a patriotic flame wars here, as we are all gamers, developers, hackers and videogame lovers regardless of nationality, so please let’s try to be more positive.

That’s an awesome text and I know exactly how you feel. I still hide i’m brazillian most of time.
On your last paragraph, and for what it’s worth, one of my best Friends is from Brazil and happens to be a very, very skilled computer science engineer. As I’ve stated before, hacking has no border, neither does racism, it seems.
About the Jailbreak itself: we’re getting confirmation from various sources that, although that specific company did not develop the “jailbreak”, it might very well be true. We keep digging
This is hard to believe, mostly because of the amount of time it took to get access in the previous generation. But if this happens to be legit then it makes complete sense for the developers to remain completely anonymous for the exact reasons the author described. The people with the skill and resources to make this happen most likely wont want this traced back to them, so why not use a third party…
Exactly, while i do not believe it to be real, we would have heard something by now from the usual “channels”, it is indeed possible that the authors are obviously not that company, and much less Brazilians.
Again I don’t believe it to be real, but i remember back in the day that some DRM dongles that released after the 3.55 hack had some sort of test market in indonesia, where it was released first and later expanded to the rest of the world, was it made there, or from that store? no.
fact is i have seen this happen before, and difference between this and the one i described is the place for the release from Indonesia to Brazil, and the fact that the other was real, as for this one, although you may have info otherwise wololo, i haven’t heard anything yet from the usual “channels”.
Sorry, but once again: Why “much less brazilians” ?
Sorry arthanis i didn’t want to come across as stereotypical, but lets see here as you mentioned people who are able to pull this stuff out in Brazil are in high places working for big bucks, they could care less about consoles or piracy, in fact i am going to tell you, i doubt there are a lot of people able to pull this out whether in Brazil or anywhere else, also the market in Brazil works differently than it does, where this products normally appear.
The black market in china for instance is moved by a lot and i mean tons of money, that are invested in groups of people to actually reverse engineer the console and come up with a solution as fast as possible, the black market in Brazil for this kind of stuff is a lot smaller they generally don’t have the manpower to pull anything like this, or the money to back them.
Oh, with that I agree.
edit:
sorry there is no way to edit… but the usual “channels” have spoken… there are reports it may be real…
lets just hope its not just a piracy device.
we shall see what the next few weeks/months bring us.
found more stuff about Sonic_FPS… aparently he said that his “hack” is not related to medic-games, may it be the same? we don’t know, but he says its not related to them.
Also it seems that Sonic_FPS has been away from the internet in the last few days… usual behavior of a scammer
the question is if it is real….will we the general public have access 2 it?
NO rumors please just facts!
I find that you talk too much about brazilian people ! No need to write 3 paragraphs about this ! It’s just useless , people are interested in the ps4 jailbreak status , not the fact that you got your bachelors degree 😉 .
This kind of reply just tells me that whether you didn’t read the whole article, missed the point completely or doesn’t have a clue of what is going on. It is relevant because the said source of that jailbreak is brazilian. Also, remember that it is a “my 2 cents” post, so if I thought it was relevant, I can talk about whatever I think is fit.
You’re an idiot, Kimo.
I’m brazillian and I totally agree with you no need for the 3 paragraphs. This guy seems very perturbed with his nationality.
I’m brazilian but not hear about it rumor on Brazil, it is more easy thielf, in my blog last month, i posted about ps4 and xbox one false, i always see news here, sorry for my english but write little, now i check it rumor and return here for post it.
Brazilian hackers is a lot like their football. World no. 1 yet sometimes failed to win the world cup. Just my 2 cents. =P
Actually Germany’s number 1, with Argentina behind. Don’t worry, that’ll change soon.
9/11
Br hue3! Just joking… Nice article anyway!
Break code not impossible , but make best application yes, all world have people think like solve problems, now ps4 unlocked i agree just joking i read facebook page and comments no have video and imagens on web site cant see ps4 unlocked or break, try contact for check.
ROFL@that huehuehue pic. Well at least Brazilian women are hot and got big *** so being a Brazilian isn’t that bad I think :p
ps4 hacked before the vita? dayum..
Completely agree. I’m also a brazilian but the only thing that matter is that I’ll try to help the scene as possible, think that’s one of the purposes of wololo.net.
wololo,
it’s a FAKE !!
googling the PCB for Raspberry pi model A, it was the same device, and you’re all has been fools by Brazillian Store
http://raspi.tv/2013/raspberry-pi-model-a-first-impressions-and-photos
We’ve pointed out that it’s a generic picture of a raspberry pi in the previous article, and we re-stated it here. What point are you trying to make? We’re all tending to believe this is a fake, but I have several independent sources telling me there is more to it than meets the eye: the raspberry pi picture is just a generic picture, unrelated to the actual technique that has been (vaguely) described to me. It could be because this specific facebook page is a fake, or because they themselves purchased the technique without understanding how it really works, and had nothing relevant to show.
noted, let us see what is happening to that Brazillian Store… are they really selling the device PS4 jailbreak or not on their website…
As I stated in the article, even being a stock image and probably not having anything to do with the hack, a picture of a raspberry pi alone doesn’t dismiss it, for reasons already stated.
it’s all to continue improve software and hardware. There are great people ALL around the world that contributes to open sourced software. Nationality has nothing to do with it. I am (US) personally i believe it is alot better for everyone to be on the same side. That is what makes linux so great.
Beautiful words friend… reading this I see that wololo has a lot of Brazilians, a lil bit more that I figured out!
I really really don’t know care about the racists… My focus is in Wololo and the others guys of the scene, and they all always treat me very well in every PM or what else, and I always make things very clear, never hiding where I’m from : MasterChief – from Brazil (my PM signature)…
The intelligent ones won’t waste their precious time with racism, and this is why I like em!
Valeu Arthenis!
Tamo junto ! =]
wololo there facebook page is gone………………………………………………………………………………….. we got the answer disapoiting
I for one don’t believe it, the picture is a rasberry pi with a HDMi in it, and also someone pointing a paperclip at some binary coe (?) with the Sony logo in it.
This is about as believeable as that time someone got PS2 games running on the Vita, when it was clearly remote play on the PS3
Ahahaha… raspberry pi is not a proof of PS4 jailbreak and there was no racism..
Do you think everyone flaming the post because it’s posted by a brazilian? none cares about that.
People don’t believe it because they posted something without a proof.
wow.. you talk like all brazillian are straight people with no criminal records…
We need someone inside working for sony to get ahold of the master keys or lvl keys at best so the work can go onwards;
All I have to say: http://indev.org.ua/2013/01/08/1/
Well,it can be correct due to high possibilty of such cunning method but sony surely oppsose it and ban that account originally bought the game
This is plausible.
In the words of the great Yifan
“No KASLR, no stack canaries, kernel open source, kstack leak from sysctl… PS4 is much less secure than Vita. It should be hacked soon.”

Freeplay? Hahahaha!
It’s not wacist but, brazian people don´t make nothing, the pay for all, 1800 dollars for a ps4??? O_o?, i play sometimes with a brazillian people, they tell me a lot of problems there: internet sucks, people with money buy cheats, but not at all the have cool stuff :/
That’s the point, on this post doesn’t say that everyone can do it, but for people to go as far as saying that no one in brazil can do it… is a bit racist.
Like the one that said that they might as well posted that they were cubans so we all could have a good laugh.
tudo ben, nesta quinta feira da implementacao melhorara
tudo ben, nesta quinta feira da implementacao do ps4 jailbreak melhorara
Hue hue hue.
I rate this 7:1.
BRBRBRBRBRBRBBRBR!
I stopped reading comments on facebook pages becauses of dumb brazilians posting that on every single post.. dayum… lol
@The Z
I don’t want to be a jerk but since you are and you failed to offend someone’s national team fail with numbers, let me teach you: 9/11
Kthxbye
the store mentioned above today was full I usually go there to exchange games, most did not see anyone talking about jailbrak
welcome to peoples who bring us a good native hack for ps4/ps vita(the generation runs, quick and good work for the gamers)
what if it’s just a profile hack like the Xbox 360 one of many years ago? all of a sudden this “distribution plan” makes sense. cause if there isn’t a dongle you can’t sell it normally.
probably fake!
Vamos esperar para ver.
I just checked their facebook page, for anyone else who is interested it is here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Medic-Games/364592246978971
They seem to have been posting legitimate stuff about the PS3 and the Xbox 360 scene, so the PS4 jailbreak that they have been talking about may well be true. Of course, your guess is as good as mine right now, and they may be using this information to attract customers to their business, who knows. Only time can tell 😛
Good night guys!
I am Brazilian and I can not also contribute to the gaming community because I have no programming skills, not because I do not want!
but unfortunately I must admit, this is “FAKE”, see facebook them, is a video game unlock shop, the cheaper style looking…
And sorry for the guys, they are only fighting for survival, and they did not have the ambition to reach other countries, only the very Brazil, which for us is a lifestyle and leisure, for them is earned daily bread, but of course dishonest! uncritically, but all playing pirated games are also being dishonest!
hugs!
they facebook

Maybe you can make use of “their” in the place of “they” ,at your leisure, of course.
thank you friend, my English is very limited
Their portuguese is not nearly as bad as you make it sound, and this walltext is almost purely unnecessary speculation. Is it too hard to just talk objectively about this hack? Most of the negative impressions people get from our country must come from this stupid attitude of brazilians who can’t act like normal people and have to talk about the country like a grade school history teacher.
I disagree. I think their portuguese is poor, specially comming from a “company” facebook. I’m not talking about typos and mispells, but from a semantic and punctiation viewpoint.
I agree about the grade school remark. We are not our history and it’s about time to stop blaming everything on that.
“Hi developed a method to enable a loaded account games in any ps4” this is the method they are using … Developer’s direct words, soon they will post the progress of videos
I don’t know if that can even be true… Because your console activation stays in Sony’s servers.
For example: On the PS3 you can download the PSN games on 2 PS3’s, switch to another account, deactivate systems through PC, download the games on another 2 PS3’s.
This way you can have the games on 4 consoles and access PSN withoht getting the games deactivated BUT Sony’s servers only allow you to deactivate the accounts through a PC once every 6 months. So you have to wait 6 months every time in order to activate those games on another 2 systems.
They can’t activate the account on infinite amounts of PS4’s because this is recorded on the servers and not “console only”.
You have my sympathy 🙂 I am Greek and most Greeks I meet online are excessively rude, swearing, schovinists and sexists.
the time shall speak for himself my friends!
I am from Brazil too and this is all legit. We will be able to steal as many games as we want soon.
I just do not understand why these obvious fakes are given attention. That is what they want, Attention.. Good or bad they still get attention and there will always be those people who actually think its real. No matter what is said
My advice to any website: IGNORE THESE FAKE PS4 JAILBREAKS, . Do not even acknowledge them. Because they do not even deserve that.
Unless it’s from a reliable source and/or proof is shown. NO ATTENTION SHOULD BE GIVEN. There is to many people i have seen already with this story acting like it’s real LOL .. But this happens because people are aware of it then when it’s seen on website it spreads and while this site may report it for what it is. There are other who are not and obtain and was alerted from sites like this.
Again i am not saying what should or not shouldnt be done. but for me giving these fakes any attention is not good. I know this site is not like this, but many are TRAFFIC hungry and look for anyway to get that traffic even if they have Lie or not give all the details of a story. Basically trying to make this look legitimate as i have seen already at a few places.
Makes no sense to me….
