  2. Xilence says:

My Vita’s left joystick just broke :/ Thinking about replacing it…but if this is a better version I may get it 😀

    • Nasrul says:

Also happened with my Vita 2000. Does anyone know where I can get the original replacement parts for Vita 2000 left analog controller?

  3. first says:

first and i still cant install homebrew on tnv 11 ape escape 3.50

    • Prizero says:

Yea and i don’t feel like doing the dishes.

Ontopic: Will be interesting to see what this is 😀 i hope it benfits us hackers/hack-using ppl

    • AliceTheGorgon says:

Then please confine your issue to the appropriate news article, or thread on the forums. We don’t need you mentioning it on every, single, frickin’, article.

    • lolzoar says:

Yeah, what Alice said. Get lost, ***.

    • nope says:

Easy fix. All you have to do is format your memory card, then just put your Vita through a dish washer and it should work just fine. People keep going back and fourth between whether a washing machine or dish washer works better but mine worked just fine after the dishwasher.

The problem is your vita just gets really dirty which in turn effects your memory card as well. You should record a youtube video for use with a tut.

  4. Max says:

They should really address some of the drawbacks that people look at when choosing between a 3DS and or a PS Vita…
Well for starters the Hideous Memory Card (unlike the 3DS which you can throw any Micro SD at it and it will work)
or atleast offer more free internal space or even more ram…cause back in the days of PSP i still remeber some Homebrew did not use to work on the 1000 cause of its low ram 🙂

    • N says:

The vita pch-2000 has 1gb internal memory. It doesn’t need anymore ram either. Do you know how ran even works?

      • jamal08659 says:

I hope you aren’t trying to say that that 1GB of internal storage is used by RAM.

      • aramaru says:

Not sure if you understand how ram works… yet you doubt his knowliedge which is funny.

1k PS vita should have had at least 2 gigs of internal memory available for user, 2k should have had at least 4 gigs of internal memory. I have been living off 1gb internal memory on 2k for 3 months… It’s ok for start… but only a very unintelligent person or a person with max. 3 physical games and no use for multimedial capabilities could say it’s enough.

Prices of mem cards are still terrible.

Btw, sup with my comments ? Other people get em approved nearly instantly while I usually wait almost day for approval

  5. wvladimir2 says:

the only way it will works, is if the new vita has a microsd slot.

    • AliceTheGorgon says:

Sony would never do that, sadly. The PSP had a ton of hacks available by directly putting custom edited content on the memory stick, and Sony has shown that they will go to great lengths to lock everything down with the Vita, without regard for the ease of use that paying customers might get from a more open system.

  6. R0ME0 says:

My younger brother has a 1000, I think the screen is nice, but its so much thicker and heavier. I don’t know how they could top the 2000, its already so thin and light. The only possible improvement in my eyes would be upgrading Wireless N to AC for Remote Play. Maybe USB 3.0?

  7. LoliX says:

They better bring back the Oled screen (or a better one, you know like the ones samsung is using). And from the picture above, i can see a few differences…though i think this will not be a cheap version (since the psvita 2000 filled that position, in many ways).

  8. Mr. Eich says:

I see the return of the peripheral/accessory port…

    • edukarlo says:

yep.. i saw that too.. finally sony is planning to release some “accessories” eh? haha..

    • Yatto says:

You’re right ! I can also see something looking like a hatch on the left picture (side picture). No idea of what it is. If it’s an SD slot (I don’t think it would be, sadly) It would be quite cool. But there is still the PS Vita Memcard hatch under the vita 3000.
I can also say that this model looks thicker than my Vita 2000. So I fear it’s not a Super Slim model.
The additionnal hatch leads me to a PS Vita “SD card” edition.

      • Yatto says:

My mistake, it is for the SIM card. So a Vita 4G maybe. maybe not. maybe I can go fsck myself.

        • Mr. Eich says:

The SIM slot is from the side, so I’d rather see you not f*cking yourself up over that … 🙂

  9. edukarlo says:

and the sim card slot is back too? maybe a better 3G / 4G connection that supports online play, and not just for downloading, social apps, and browsing..

  10. lolzoar says:

I think the cheaper downgrade version is more probable. Maybe use a cheaper screen, a different proprietary memory card, or maybe even include a video out port.

  11. Jack says:

Or maybe it’s a Vita with new and improved features. Maybe the cameras have been upgraded (I hope so), more battery life, and/or enhanced features like an OLED screen again.

  12. dmaskell92 says:

I doubt they’re going to be adding anything new that could cause them to spend extra money during production. That’s why they gave the 2000 a LCD so they could drop production costs. So as for a better camera or screen, I think not!

    • brentt says:

no, because there is clearly NO hdmi port on this thing, + the psvita on the post you linked is a DEVKIT psvita , for devs….

      • thesecretone says:

The link i send was from 2013 so i’m not talking for this patent .. My point is that we’ve seen a worthless patent before, who says that this new patent is gonna mean anything for us ?

There are many patents from a number of companies that have never been implemented into products for the public, i don’t believe that we should pay attention to patents ..

    • The Z says:

An HDMI Vita would kill the PS TV.

  13. Schadows says:

Frankly, I wouldn’t understand if they made a new improved hardware. Sony has clearly forsaken the Vita to focus on the PS4 (the console only gets portage of PS4 indies and even Gravity Rush is about to switch to PS4).

A cheaper (to build) version is more than probable.

    • Balmung says:

Yes, I think the same way about it. I can’t believe anymore that Sony did anything for the Vita that made her better. So a cheaper one with less Features to use it more in Combination with the PS4 make more sense for me.

  14. rclr says:

Put a umd drive xD or a hdmi

  15. Aedando says:

Since Sony killed off Near, it seems strange for them to re-introduce the SIM slot for the next generation of Vita devices.

The reason why I think they’re re-introducing it is because they’re going to do a complete firmware rehaul to have the Vita match functionality with the PS4, with a successor to Maps/Near that will replace it. Youtube was also phased out because google didn’t see the point in continuing to support it if the PS4 app would replace it on the Vita.

The major criticism behind the Vita is the fact that it’s firmware is nothing like the PSP’s or PS3’s, which threw a lot of consumers off from wanting it. If Sony were to completely change the Vita’s firmware to match the PS4’s (which is a lot more like the PSP and PS3’s XMB), a lot of consumers would be compelled to purchase a Vita because it would act as a carbon-copy portable companion to their PS4.

Especially when you take into account the fact that Sony hasn’t done any “foreground” updates to the Vita, and only “background” updates in 6.50 such as 60FPS PS4 Streaming, Accessibility features etc. It seems pretty obvious that they’re abandoning the bubble OS for a much more user-friendly one. The Accessibility features added to the Vita literally work the exact same way they do on the PS4, drawing a paralell between the two.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony shows this off at an upcoming show.

    • Aedando says:

Adding on, maybe the reason why Sony hasn’t been on top of their game with patching all of the recent exploits is because they’re going to shake up the entire Vita hacking scene by completely rehauling the OS?

Maybe TN knew something that the community didn’t, and that’s why he leaked.

    • gunblade says:

There a real good reason for YouTube and near. hope so y had near and YouTube for the new ps vita near was so cool. I could see what game outher ps vita user around me was playing. I could find special iteam upgrades for games. did you guys know the earlier psp firmeware you had to downgrade to 1.50 the upgrade to custume firmware. Lol. After 1.80 the vita got lock down real good. Yea the best firmware would be the fimeware 2.0 the rest was jus patchs. and added campabaility for the Ps vita to work with the Ps4. But the Ps vita was always ment to work with the Ps4 it was jus an app.

  16. DarkSlayer says:

    Maybe….just maybe… a PSVita with no phisical game slot… only PSN games… still LCD screen…more internal memory… maybe…

    • Crzo says:

But the game slot an reader are really small, it wouldn’t make sense to remove them, the PSP was different case because the UMD’s were big and therefore the UMD reader had to be bigger taking a lot of space.

  17. Aramaru says:

I read interesting info. According to that information the broke lined area on patent design is irrelevant, only dark lined 4 button area on right is being patented so according to that information this is not patent for new Vita, just for outlined buttons.
    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) :/)

  18. jlo138 says:

The only thing I can see is another device for people to stack with.

    PSVita Street?

  19. anonanon says:

Well we can say one thing for sure, this isn’t going to be like the PSP E1000. WIFI is too important for the Vita, there’s no way a model will be released without WIFI.

  20. Kotomine Kirei says:

Hopefully they do not do what Nintendo did (New 3DS and possibly Nintendo NX)

  21. gunblade says:

Hope it’s like the psp go.

  22. gunblade says:

So there two slots on the top three slots on the bottom and the 3/4g slot so it looks like the Ps vita 1000 with an sd card or an extra game slot vita memory card 3/4 g accesseries slot and an slot for what could be a custume ram or hardrive or a port for a docking station. seems like the home button from the Ps vita slim so probly a combo of the vita 1000 and 2000.

  23. Yatto says:

On another site I saw the complete screenshot :
    http://www.jeuxvideo.com/news/423264/une-nouvelle-ps-vita-en-preparation.htm
In the text, they say this trademark was deposed 01/04/2015.

    April’s Fool.

  24. gunblade says:

Jus seen in a post that the new ps vita will have an hdmi port and not an oled screen. Thks z. So cool.

  25. ZeroSbr says:

3 models of the Vita? There are only 2 right now. I would not grace it with the title ‘Vita model’ as it looks nothing like the Vita, and is not portable.

  26. Capn says:

Yea this was proved to just be a positional trademark for the button placement for all vita’s and dualshock controllers that’s why the only solid lines are for the 4 buttons and this is just a crude mock up of the original vita sorry guys http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/04/20/no-sony-did-not-trademark-the-playstation-vita-3000-much-ado-about-nothing/

  27. Zeke says:

Ugh, old debunked news maybe, but even if they had released a third iteration of the Vita it wouldn’t have beaten the Phat version. Whereas 2000 and 3000 series PSP models represented improvements to the LCD and thinner/flimsier construction compared to the solidly built 1000 series, with the Vita I personally think the Phat ones had the best design, construction and screens. Exception: size and placement of the PS/START/SELECT buttons. A lot easier to hit on the Slim, but damn, the matte plastic felt so cheap and the bezelled LCD, other than having terrible contrast ratio/viewing angle, was just a clear sign that Sony were cutting corners to lower costs.

  28. Silica says:

The E1000 sucked because I couldn’t find a model with wifi anymore
