My 64GB card is too small.

  2. Hurr

Why aren’t there any knockoff cards yet? Haven’t they been reverse engineered by now?

    • wololo

This is correct, nobody managed to RE the vita cards yet

      • Thrawn

Yes and no… I’m pretty sure that our favourite Chinese 3rd party suppliers already mantled that thingy down to its last cell… and I’m also pretty sure they threw their concept away (or better buried it in a drawer) when they saw how small the actual ps vita market share is 🙁 .
But then again, either way… still no 3rd party memory card.

Found my 4gb to be too small the first night of owning a vita. Exchanged it toward a 16gb

I bought my 32gb vita card in a Best Buy in Oregon where there is no sales tax for $79.99.
That is 4X the price of a 32gb micro sd from Costco stores right now, with the instant rebate a checkout, its like 20 bucks plus tax.
I can only fit my favorite games on a 32gb vita card, and have my other games backed up on a pc or on my 16, 8 and 4 gb card. How annoying having games all over the place. But that actually reminds me of how every single game was on a Cart or Disc back in the 16-bit era. We are so spoiled now actually. Remember how a really long and epic game like Chrono Trigger was only measured in mega bytes? Like 5mb.

When 64GB was launched i asked a friend in Japan to send me 2. I happy because a paid cheap at the time. Now dolar so expensive in Brazil i count sell double price i paid if i wanted. But i loved then so much. I download anything free on plus mountly dont care if i play or not. Now i want 128GB common sony.

I Had two 32gb cards but sold them to buy 64gb.
I was tired of icons messing up each time I switched xD

  7. LD

I already fill my memory 64GiB (really are 60GB)

    • AliceTheGorgon

Just a heads up, you’ve got the GiB/GB reversed there.

GB is smaller, being based on 1,000

GiB is bigger, being based on 1,024

128GB vita cards “did” exist they were rare and way overpriced and were only avail as import i only saw them once and they were only around for a very short time cant confirm if they were real or not as i did not have a vita a the time

I have 3 16 gig cards, one for Vita stuff, one for homebrew and emulators, and one for my psp games. Sounds like a 64 gig would be a lot less hassle.

It’s sad these are so expensive yet slower read/write than a class 10 microSD. I got the 2000 with an 8gb, now that its exploited i’ll be switching to 32gb. But not for $60 I’ll wait for a sale.

    • Yatto

I’m in the same situation. I consider buying à 32GB card to keep a lot of my games, while keeping the 8GB in backup for lighter games (maybe linking it with à US account, i’m on a EU one now)

    • :v

How do you exactly know if it’s slower or faster than a class 10 microSD?

  11. deathblade200

considering I have 120GB vita games (this is not counting PSP and PS1 games) my 64GB card feels to small

  12. 546456

I bought a 16 gig for $21.50 on black friday, I don’t care if the vita gets native piracy options, there is no way in heck I’m paying for more

  13. Pirate Cat

I upgraded to an 8GB when I picked up a VTV on the lightning deal and stuck the 4GB in the VTV. If I can ever manage to get a 16 or 32GB when they go on sale I might grab one of those. I only buy games with a physical release so I don’t really need the space unless I want to stick more PSP games on the card.

  14. nebu_187

i own one of every size, easy to remember wich one is wich 😀

  15. Insignificant

    I have 2 64GB, 1 32GB, 1 8GB, and they’re all filled. Thinking about getting another one soon…

I originally bought a 32gb on day one for 100 bucks… That didnt last long, but I dealt with it untill I got a vita tv, at which point I got a 64gb card. With little overlap in titles, they are both full. Im a little excessive in my game purchases (350 gb free on a 2tb ps4) but given how over the limit I am, I dont think im the only one. With some of the most popular games being ps1 images, classic gamers can fill up a 32 gb card with the FF series, Alundra and the R E series. 250mb for rockman 2 is pretty out there by compression standards now. Wah… I bought em, but wish there was a better option.

I just upgraded to a 64GB version and am selling a 16GB card on ebay with not long left. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151642152146?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

How you guys manage to fill a 64GB card on the Vita I’ll never know, unless you go all digital. I haven’t even filled up my 32GB on my PSP.Or my 16GB on my Vita.

  20. Daipop

Mine is 32 GB and its insufficient. And that 64 GB Vita Card is nowhere to be found in my country. I use a 32 GB for the PS+ games, 8 GB Card for the free to play games and 4 GB for the PS1, PSP, PSMobile and minis.

  21. Quade321

I currently have a 64GB, and that seems to be holding up just fine. It would be nice if there was an alternative though. I mean honestly, it’s cheaper to get 128GB into a PSP by micro SD cards than 64GB in a Vita.

  22. lmao

256/512GB should be nice.. i don;t care the price.

  23. milu

Mine is 32GB and would love to get 64GB right now

  24. nina

I bought a 64 gig shortly after buying my VITA. I think I bought it off EBAY, but I don’t remember. It was about $100, and I was nervous it’d be fake or the guy wouldn’t deliver. But, it wasn’t fake, and the guy did deliver. It’s fast and awesome.

  25. Charles Fasano

I have 2 32GB ones and I need something bigger than that. Remember that the MemoryPro Duo had that *** MagicGate DRM stuff but at least you had 3rd party options like Lexar and Sandisk.

  26. Frezzno

Now I know I’m old. I have the ps vita 1000 and I didn’t know there is a 64GB card. Is it compatible with the old phat vita?

  27. Marius

I bought a 64GB memory card on eBay right away. I got the Action Mega Pack with the slim Vita and it came with an 8GB card, but I knew that would fill up pretty quick. I encourage everyone to get a 64GB card and enjoy endless entertainment 😀 Pretty awesome to have that amount of games on the Vita.

  28. The Z

    2x 64GB, 2x32GB, 1x8GB, 1x4GB… Might be enough…

    Maybe…

Because of my hunger for white/blue vita I was forced to survive with 1GB PSV 2000 internal memory for 4 months… wasn’t that bad as long as every game I owned was physical. I’m currently on 16 gb card (14,4 gb actually) and it’s pretty much full but I have few movies, tons of pics and screenshots & demos stored there… but it’s not that bad and should be enough for people who prefer physical releases. For those that download their games though…. or want to play Phantasy star online 2 which took c.a. 9GB!!! of space even 64 gb card might not be enough… Also prices are fken joke, you can buy 16gb standard non propietary card for 8 dollars on amazon or even less (saw few for 1$ which is actually reasonable price :P). I also believe that these super cheap cards are faster than Vita cards that are also… well… slow. As for place to buy mem. cards, I bought 16 gb for 25 euros at CDjapan, they charge much for shipping but give out points for registration and birthday. Even with shipping card cost me around 29 euros which is still cheaper than price of these cards in country I live. Even better place to import is amiami but have every type of card sold out (except 4gb which seems to be discontinued in Japan already) p.s cool thing that message field doesn’t reset when page is closed, I got blue screen of death and thought that I would have to type this again.

I bought the Vita Adventure Pack, which came with an 8GB card. How long did it last? Well… The included games didnt all fit on the card at the same time… Thanks sony, giving me digital-only games that wont even fit on the provided memory card.

Im still rolling with the 8GB card though, because I refuse to pay those insane prices for such small cards.
I still hope there will be a uSD card adapter in the (somewhat near)future…

  31. Dr.Duster

Have the 4GB that came with the White AC bundle. Never buying anything bigger until prices drop.

  32. Schadows

My 16GB is more than enough for 3-4 PSP iso of games I couldn’t stop playing, and some more Vita Games.
The fact is I have a case for my vita with holding slots for game cards so I mainly buy physical copy of my games.

BTW, how does a console manufacturer makes money ? buy getting a 15% share of the third party games they burn.
third party publishers have to pay 15% of each games they ask sony to press (even if some of them won’t even be sold).
That’s why consoler manufacturer can sell consoles without any profits on the hardware … as long as games sell well

  33. meysam25

I have 4gig and than i get 16gig and now i am thinking about buying 32 or 64

  34. nebu_187

invent a cable with one side normal usb and one side a plug in shape of a vita memory card so you could connect a external HDD to it, would be great for PS TV 😀

  35. TRRR

Current card 64gb exhanging it for 256gb

  36. Yatto

I’m buying used Vita memory cards (in resellers shops, or hand-by-hand trade). Way, way cheaper, and I don’t make Sony taking profit of it. Moreover, unlike a CD / DVD / BR, there’s no need to take care that there’s no scratch. Flash memory works, that’s all !

  37. Smoker1

Kind of hoping they come out with 128GB Cards soon. Not only for now, but for when more and more Homebrew and Emulators start coming out the Gate. Especially if they release a MAME type Emulator. That will really require more space with how some Rom sizes are. Just hope it will not require any Cache Files like the CPS2 and MVS Emulators needed.

I desperately need a 128gb memory card as most purchases are digital so my 64gb card is full, i could easily buy another 64gb card but dont want to be swapping in and out. Sony need to get their act together quick and either release a bigger card or let 3rd party cards sell their machines for them. The Ps Vita is a great system with loads of potential still but sony should have done what they did with the other systems and said we will stick with it for at least 5 yrs and give it the support it needs. I am currently 17 miles from home playing the ps4 on my vita my next handheld will be a nintendo nx as nintendo supports their systems through thick and thin and i respect that.
