I’ve been trying to figure out: do custom bubbles only work with Ark and the games, or does it also work with TN-V/X? (I don’t know how things work, but I seem to recall there was something fundamentally different between TN and ARK.

Yes, there is something fundamentally different between TN and ARK: ARK is open source and has no restriction whatsoever, this allows anyone to port it to whatever hack they have come up with, unlike TN.

      • Murph says:

TN-V is way better than ARK. It offers you many things: XMB, PSX with sound, much better homebrews compatibility, etc… All in one, it gives you a real PSP feeling.
Acid_Snake is talking about open source, which is in the end not even an interesting “feature” for end users. ARK has been same for years, nothing but the menu has been changed. ARK is boring and the developers are not innovative. If you looked at the TN-V changelogs you would see that Total_Noob always had new ideas in mind. I’m not really a fanboy of him either, but it’s just my opinion that ARK is a lame open source project which doesn’t get improved at all, it’s the same *** by every single release. Have you ever seen a good changelog for ARK before? Nope. Has ARK ever got a new feature? Nope. Only some offsets got changed over the years and some patches added for compatibilities.
To summarise: I prefer a closed source CFW that offers different features and that gets better and better, than an open source CFW that has nothing to offer.
It’s a shame Total_Noob didn’t update his TN-V for newer firmwares, I’d rather sell my Vita than using a buggy ARK CFW with a dumb menu.
Btw, why does ARK not use the PEOPS plugin which is already open source?

Without ARK there would be no eCFW for 3.30 or higher.

TN releases something once a year, gets praised like a King and then vanishes again for half a year because someone points out that his ego is bigger than the sun.

Hope this leads to the development of fully fledged dynamic vita themes similar to those on the psn store, specifically japanese psn store. Ofc being able to load them on 3.18 fw 🙂

  7. jonas says:

    does it work on 3.18?

  8. lollypop says:

  9. Rektangle says:

This kind of thing isn’t new at all. You could already modify the picture for non-system apps. I’ve done it to Skype a million times… The only thing that is new here is that they are *** with system apps… Wonder how they’re doing it. Can’t wait to see 😛

I would so much customize my bubbles the way I want, need to try 😀
Can only be better than the actual themes on the eu store.

  21. R0ME0 says:

Hopefully they release this method. About time we have nice Vita-Style bubbles for PSP content instead of the rectangles. (y)

Is there any way we could make a custom bubble of the ARK-2 eCFW using Pool Hall Pro on PSV 3.36?
