It has been a while since I did anything closely related to the scene; I haven’t writen any articles in a while, I barely browsed the forums and I haven’t done anything particular in the shadowy whereabouts of the scene, but why?

It is not a secret that a lot of c.r.a.p happened not long before I stopped working on anything about the scene, and the timing would probably suggest that I either just left, stopped caring about the scene or lost trust from the higher ups. The first two are false, and I already explained it back then: I stopped caring about the PSP, but I still care about the Vita, and all the recent developments in webkit has caught my attention, the third one is mostly false, the people I care for in the scene, and the ones that understand what happened, have no trust issues (I am still a blogger here and a supermod at /talk after all).

Far from it, three very basic things happened during these months that simply gave me with no time for the scene.
First and most importantly was college. I’m a student of software engineering and my time was given away to projects after projects and a few exams thrown in between. It is a really time consuming degree but it really pays off as most of my knowledge comes directly from there rather than here.

When I had some free time I decided to work on a project to test another project. I was curious about 2D game development in SDL2 and all the possibilities it brings, as well as using this game to test another project of mine, a C preprocessor that adds full OOP, software exceptions and other high-level features to the C programming language. The game I developed is sort of a minesweeper but instead of clicking around to find mines you have to take you character across a minefield to the exit using various weapons and items. The game works on PC and Android and I would upload some screenshots but this isn’t exactly a post about it, maybe another time.

Then the Christmas holidays came and you would expect I’d be a bit more free and do some stuff. The truth is I was planning on writing a new series of articles named “10 Days of Consoles” where I talk about my favorite consoles (home and portable) of all times. But unfortunately by the time I got to the holidays I was exhausted, there was a lot of exams coming in January and my birthday is in Christmas so I spent most of the time home with my family, playing some games and getting intoxicated often to rest a bit for the finals that were right around the corner.

But now, after all I had to go through in January, I am finally free to work on pretty much anything. So the question here is, what will I work on?
It is hard to say really. I have already offered my manpower to Brian and others to help in whatever they think I can be helpful with, I will finish my game, I might look up a few unfinished things in the PSP scene that some people are asking me about, maybe I do write those “10 Days of Consoles” series, but generally, I don’t have a plan, I will just do whatever comes next and whatever you guys want me to do.
