Lamecraft is still alive and kicking!
Yes, we all know the Vita version of Minecraft has been out for a bit but this hasn’t stopped these devoted lamecraft developers just yet! Yes, I know, I know this is almost irrelevant since the Vita version of minecraft is much better, but why stop? Well one thing for sure is that this isn’t available on PSP, so your only option is lamecraft, unless you’re willing to try it on the other devices where it is officially available. Another thing is that this mod cannot run on a PS Vita, or PSP 1000. Obviously this game will require the extra memory that is available in the PSP slims. This is currently unavailable in the vita ECFW or PSP 1000. Anyways enough of that, what I wanted to highlight, is the love and dedication the PSP scene is still receiving today. A couple months ago the PSP stopped its production, and just 3 months ago it lost access to PSN.
This mod goes by the name of, “Minecraft PSP Edition”. I started this mod early this year, but ever since woolio joined, this mod’s features have increased drastically. However I’ve stopped my work on this mod due to my college work, and other projects but woolio hasn’t given up yet. In fact there was an update that had been just released recently.
What makes this mod more successful among the others?
I mean, well you choose what suits your needs, but correct me if I’m wrong, this mod is the only mod I’ve seen that offers crafting. Yes that means this includes survival, however at the moment it *only* includes survival so that’s the only downside to those “I love god mode” users. Other things it includes that make it dominant over the others are:
- Seed generation option.
- Destroying animation.
- Includes a pretty neat pop up inventory that is very similar to Minecraft PC’s.
- New clouds and fog generation
- Heavily modified world generator which includes biomes, such as snow biomes!
- Doors, fences chested and lots of items!
- And much more! check them all out here.
Yeah I know, this still doesn’t make it as good as Minecraft PS Vita edition, but hey! to see these things coming from just a few people coding in their free time rather than an experienced team is actually pretty incredible. I highly appreciate woolio’s dedication towards this mod, and I hope he continues to make this better than all the rest! What do you guys think?
