Some progress on the Vita bubble hack?
/talk user kuin00 has posted today a technique to create bubbles on your Vita’s livearea. Katsu’s technique to do so previously required a PS3, but kuin00’s method lets you do it from your PC.
Now before people jump on their high horses, this is just a cosmetic trick at this point: the “homebrews” created this way will not actually run.
So what’s the point, you ask? Honestly, I am not entirely sure. It is obvious that people are trying to reproduce Qwikrazor87’s Vita bubble hack, and on the one hand I like to see some progress here, on the other hand I am concerned that this could jeopardize a potential release of Qwikrazor’s own work: if anything these people disclose happens to be patched by Sony, and used by Qwikrazor, the community as a whole can kiss the hack goodbye.
Now, it’s been stated several times that qwikrazor’s hack requires initially an exploited game to start the process. although I cannot explain much due to my limited knowledge of the internals, and also because I’m not sure how much can be revealed, the bubbles, once installed, don’t really need a hack to work.
Some people hope that this could mean you only need the hack once and can then update your vita to your heart’s content as long as the bubble homebrews are installed, but that would be assuming that Sony does not actually patch the tricks used to run these bubbles in the first place (and honestly, do you think that given the opportunity they would choose to not patch?)
Back to kuin00’s work, is process on how to generate the bubbles is unfortunately unclear, due to English not being his main language. I would typically dig deeper, but given that he himself admitted that the trick is not useful in its current state, I’ll take a “wait and see” approach.

Interesting read! And I’m first I think. 🙂
helo , wololo i wuv you this much \(‘ 0 ‘)/
See, the problem is that we haven’t heard anything about qwikrazor’s bubble hack recently, and despite claims that it’s going to be released, all we’ve seen are screenshots of people who already know how it works. We don’t know when it’s going to be released, or what qwikrazor’s waiting for if it’s ready to be released. And unlike VHBL releases, we know what the exploited games are (if Patapon 1 still works on 3.35, I could use it…) but we don’t know when they’ll no longer work.
great to see any progress, but yes lets please keep this on the downlow so Sony doesnt come sniffing. may i ask generally incase someone knows, how far off is actual homebrew running on the vita? im talking like for example a DosBox port (dosbox turbo for android would be nice), is this something that could happen in the next 6 months, or is that something that might never happen?
Just for the sake of showing f***** off. they never release anything.
That’s useless without running anything else but just change an icon
i just want to play Type-0 (F*ck U Square Enix) on my 3.35FW Vita 🙁
same process with exploited game ….hmmmmm release exploited game now 😀

I see this as being akin to storing money.
If you store money your entire life and never spend it on you or anyone, what is the point?
You have to spend it before you no longer can, or you will have wasted it and the effort you put into saving it.
Though, that being said, I really don’t see the fuss in this anyway.
PSP emulator exploits are near pointless, as they do not take advantage of the hardware.
Not only that, but you have to buy a game for every firmware update.
You may as well have bought/modded a PSP with two analogs, so that you can always have the homebrew and games.
From what I have seen, 1) I have only seen dual analog mod PSPs with the second analog mapped to /\, O, [] and X. 2) You can map the Vita’s second analog, touchscreen and touchpad to various combinations of PSP buttons, rather than the one time only choice for a hardware mod for PSP before you solder the wires (Vita will look nicer, too), as well as having built in cameras (e.g. Invizimals 1, 2, 3, EyePet, etc.) (“Do not take advantage of the hardware”? ) 3) The Vita upscales the graphics of PSP games run on it. 4) You should be able to play many of the few really good Vita games even if you stay on low firmware. Summary: a hacked Vita (if you’re willing to live with the limitations) is what the PSP should have been. Don’t diss the PSP emulator. And the XMB looks nicer than bubbles… (personal opinion 😉
Hey Wololo, do we have an update for the PS4’s side of the WebKit exploit?
I’m trying to decide wether or not I should upgrade from 1.76.
Bubble bubbles
My bubbles!
Gud job kip it up guys… hope u release b4 christmas gift 4 every one…
2014s christmas gifts were the leaked 3.18 exploits in september.
useless *** is considered a present nowadays?
So i just shouldn’t get my hopes up till next year?
So you are the one who gets to decide what and when another dev releases their work?
DONT LET SONY POP THE BUBBLESSSSS!!! D:
This looks promising. Reminds me of the pre-Dark Alex era before the scene exploded. Imagine a native vita custom firmware running android lollipop full clip 😉
Releasing the bubbles on Christmas would be my best gift. Although TheZ said no release till 2015 🙁
don’t you see what bubbles is doing? he is in our heads now!
Holy *** – someone posted their findings! And they almost did it my way! Quick turn of the intertubes! Stop this madness.
seriously that is what this blog post reads like. Kudos on someone thinking”hey I like those bubbles, o its not released, but hey – if they did it so can I ”
If you guys really think that this is the answer to all our problems then release your method. Who cares if sony blocks it. Skfu himself said focus on one firmware rather than cat and mouse. PS3 scene is still based on 3.55 and ofw is 4.6x
who cares if you have to stay of PSN? Isnt that why we got 2 vita’s?
PS3 scene hasn’t been based on 3.55 since 2012.
on 3.35 the bubbles are already there from Sony.
Why are people spending their time on getting bubbles to work? Do they do anything that TN-V doesn’t? Not trying to be a ***, i’m just curious.
it’s very easy to create bubble on PS Vita that does not function
1- delete the data of a game already installed
2- change the game image
I made this method it 2 years
to fool my friends
but once you had not said that hacks psp was completely free, and then all the scene dealt only hack native , it seems to me that here you are still playing with emulator psp , vaulted this scene and full of contradictions , all want the bubbles but as I see little people play with the browser , and after the memory dump there were no updates .
If the scene loses more time on emulator psp not think you will ever find a final solution .
Sincerely , an anonymous
u r english is like metal gear rising george
“You Are English…..” XDDDDDDDDDD
Understand what you are saying but whos to say that people working on bubbles have the knowledge to work on native hacking???its like just because a dev is working on an indie game is gonna stop the other devs from working on their AAA titles.
re – tarded vita scene
can’t agree more… just teasing everywhere.
Release the bubble exploit!
I am not really interested in bubble hacks after katsu was banned.
Katsu wasn’t banned because of the bubbles. He was banned for the HDMI output mod
And what proof do you have to back that up, maybe i missed something, if so enlighten me.
Proof of Life. Bruh was supposed to release that jawn a long time ago. He just teased his findings and kept that jawn to himself. Karma is a *itch m8. It’s swallows you up like a molly. Then spits you up like blue haze drops. Proof of Life, my little bumbaclot. Proof of Life
By banned I mean he was banned from PSN. Because Sony can see games/bubbles you are actively playing. He didn’t get banned here because he kept his HDMI output mod to himself… That would be ridiculous.
Just don’t play online with that ecfw vita
The bubble creation is called the folder option…
Not sure which firm wares it’s available on but my psvita on 3.35 has it.
Kinda makes the bubble hack useless or unnecessary seeing as it could get your acct/psv banned.
Katsu wasn’t banned because of the bubbles. He was banned for the HDMI output mod
*** are u talking ….. he might be banned because of nand modification
Yeah, Iight
either way i was talking about sony banning accts cause of CFW it sees it running. im not sure what methods they are using and if sony can or cannot see but i was just informing everyone that the bubble hack is a factory option on 3.35
Again, no he wasn’t.
excited for the bubble hack, my PSP died already. so if this hack will happened i will buy a 64 gb memcard, i still have a lot of PSP game i want to finish, and i want to play PSX classic also, so keep up the good work guys
TY for the interesting news, Regards 😛
Forget about eboot.pbp guys. There is no profit with it.
The bubble method is very simple. The tools that you need have already been released from since VHBL begun up until katsu’s releases(although his actual goal is to launch EBOOTS/PBOOT.PBP, the method will never ever work. You can delete/add/modify EBOOT.PBP with some method alright, but it will never ever let you launch it. Only some of it was part of the trick.
Although if you want to have multiple bubbles launching different homebrews/ISOs, you need to have some coding skills. (This will be released soon) don’t get me wrong, I don’t have it. I just realize how it works now.
With the current tools we have (without a dev’s release or without coding skills), we may be able to duplicate many bubbles, but we can only launch one hombrew/ISO.
Also, you need to have a specific exploit game. So, we may see another Ninja Release for those who do not have the special requirement.
Really guys, this trick will trick you.
Let me rephrase it,
“With the current tools we have (without a dev’s release or without coding skills), we may be able to duplicate many bubbles, but we can only launch one hombrew/ISO at a time.”
Well i don’t have a ps3 so if this could have worked on a PC i would be so damn happy but seeing that it wont work i back to saying i wont be getting this hack ether…………. ;'(
Cool. so updated my ps3.hope the trick still works. Thks guys was real fun. (^_^)
So what’s the case in a nutshell after 3.30, they blocked webkit exploits(did they actually update the webkit or?) is the current exploit hunting like the one in the psp era?
I was absent for a lot of time from the scene and now i am coming back better and wiser lel.
Planning to join the “hunt”.
I would like a small brief paragraph for the current situation like the one you guys made for pre -3.30.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: This is a re-post as i noticed i posted it before in a “dead” “thread” and i don’t know if OP is getting a notification or something. Cheers.
