got mine for 5$ at gamestop

  3. G says:

Luckily my local GameStop still had a used copy for $4 that I could place on hold. I am not going to end up paying a lot for an exploit this time around :3

Almost ordered last night on Amazon before the price jumped up a lot, but didn’t think it’d be THIS quick to happen

  4. Charles Fasano says:

Got mine for $4.88 at GameStop.

  5. mystic_shadow says:

  6. DerPlayer says:

Looked for Cubic Ninja at my GameStop in Germany. They said that all copys are send back to Nintendo Today…lol

  7. BahamutBBob says:

I put in an order, but cancelled it. I don’t care about 3DS hacking, and what can it do that my (rooted) Android can’t do better?

    • The Z says:

Play 3DS, NDS and homebrews on the very same device.

Your *** android wont be able to do this.

      • Johnny says:

But my *** android can play psp, ds, ps1, n64, dreamcast, gamecube games and other homebrews. Can the 3ds do this?

We still need a 3ds and an android to play everything.

        • Jamal 086359 says:

          Physical controls
          Pocket sized physical controls

oh when i figure out a good way to mount my android on my psp 3000 running FuSa Game pad .. that will be the true holy grail.

        • Warlock says:

          u forgot to mention something
“But my *** android can play psp, ds, ps1, n64, dreamcast, gamecube games and other homebrews with *** frane rate . Can the 3ds do this?

We still need a 3ds and an android to play everything”
well i corrected it for u

          • Johnny says:

No I didn’t forget. I have the Nvidia Shield and it runs most games smoothly. I don’t get the need to hate on android, it’s really powerful if you have the right product. The 3ds homebrew is absolute garbage. I’m happy enough with my normal 3ds to play 3ds games and have an android to play homebrew and other games on decent frame rates.

    • dboyz says:

      playing 3DS games……………

      • mlc says:

There is no evidence that this hack will allow piracy, and smealum specifically claimed that it would not. So while it’s possible that someone will use this as a starting point for a more powerful exploit, “playing 3DS games” is not presently a reason to buy this game – it’s only for homebrew.

        • The Z says:

The 3DS is still capable of play 3DS games, while his sh!tty android phone is not able to play those.

          • lmao says:

So, can’t they just play the 3DS the normal way and using android for homebrew? tbh i don’t really care for homebrew running on 240p screen and weak as f*** hardware

          • Johnny says:

How is android sh**ty in any way? Do you have a hard on for 3ds and Vita?

The 3ds can obviously play 3ds games because it is a bloody 3DS. Can it run Modern Combat 5? It can’t because it’s an android/windows/ios game. your argument is so dumb.

The 3ds is great in its own way but the homebrews are garbage. I have nothing against it but Nvidia Shield can play all 3ds homebrews + psp, ds, gamecube, dreamcast games and many more, most at decent frame rates.

So stop hating, android and 3ds are completely different.

    • warfaren says:

Really? Play games of course. Physical buttons…

  8. NoSpam says:

Just got back from the local flea market… £3.50… two for a fiver, no boxes but otherwise good.

  9. BlumCoLe says:

What theeeeeee …they cancel 2 orders.

Pls, amazon, do not disappoint me! 🙁

  10. kepohe says:

I bought 3 at price minister marketplace for 60E this morning…i really hope someone will make an ISO loader for this hack.

    • OmgPeople... says:

People on this site seriously need to *** educate themselves, ISO Loader on 3DS with PSVita Support and PSP Games Support incoming?.
      Doubt it…

      • APRON-MAN says:

Were did you get vita and psp loader from?

      • lmao says:

well, good luck with that, 3DS is capable to run Vita games at 1/10 of its framerate :p
In retrospect, 3DS emulator on Vita could run MH4 at full speed.

  11. tinostar91 says:

Makes me wonder why would people pay such high prices for a game which is much more limited than Gateway card. I mean, Gateway said on their site that support for 9.0.20 is coming soon, so there goes literally the last argument for that ridiculous price.

  12. solidsnake says:

Got it! From Rakuten. Fingers crossed.

  13. rg says:

Can anyone confirm if it will work with gateway

  14. solidsnake says:

    Wow! No longer on Rakuten.

  15. Leires says:

Man. I really hope another game comes along. Was really looking forward to this, heard it was likely coming ‘next week’ which woulda given me ample time to scrounge, but then it came out of nowhere and I’m out of the boat. Oh well, maybe vita homebrew will pick up :/

  16. Eddy says:

Look on gamestop and find it used on any local stores near your area if its worth it, they can hold it for you for up to 2 days and its around $5 used.

  17. mecksg1 says:

got 3 at gamestop today. 1 for me 1 for my friend and 1 to sell

  18. cas says:

the only gamestop with it anywhere near me is a state away. rip my chances of getting it. *** too expensive online

  19. solidsnake says:

what a great day! I was there for gta psp and still have it.

  20. Alpmaster says:

i wonder if their will be more 3ds games for exploit that will be released?

  21. Ben Dover says:

    got 1 copy for $11

    feels good man

  22. PSvitaemulationdream says:

Homebrew Games on 3ds dont make much sense only on the “New 3DS” because it had twice the power as a standart 3ds or 2ds…if the specs leak are true same cpu, gpu and main memory but overlocked x2 for example if the cpu has 133mhz on standart 3ds ist has 266mhz on the New 3ds…

The sad about the whole thing is through this homebrew channel, at least in the current form and the prices
    exactly the converse is achieved!

even more people will buy gateway 3ds flashcard…

And one more thing it is immposible that this game is the only 3ds game with a exploit this games can be rare but they exist…

And the people who claim the gateway 3ds 9.xxx update support is a clone of SKy3ds have you thought about the possibility that the team Gateway can use ssspawn exploit code for homebrew support even without the game itself?

Use Just the code remove game restrictions and insert it in the new gateway update

these are only speculations but that can be true!

    • poop says:

I agree %100 i only bought cubic ninja cuz i got it for 4.99 at my local gamestop. I even posted an ad on clist to see if someone would trade for a gateway 3ds lol

  23. Lovepirateb says:

This is going to be great for stealing all the nintendo games. Gateway is 70 bucks and this game is 5 bucks. Once he releases it someone can work on it and enable “backup games”, which means steal for free. Win win for all. Hurry up release it!!!

  24. lollypop says:

    SO…
witch are the particular homebrews u are intrested in
    in running homebrew on a 3ds N?.?

  25. Mr. Rab says:

will dis finally allow me to play mah vita isoz??

  26. lmao says:

i’m JP user… but PSN. LOL

  27. PSvitaemulationdream says:

sorry was a typo the 3ds cpu has of course 266mhz the gpu has 133mhz…

I actually went to look for this at walmart today and they removed it from their shelves. So I couldn’t buy it.

  29. brownienz says:

done own a 3ds but still like to see this sort of thing i myself rember paying 120 $ for my copy of LBCS back in the day only to get free downgrades a little bit later i Lernert that lesson 😉 ” i also got my copy of lbcs just to run the homebrew loader as the downgrade came out shortly after i got it 🙂 well done !

  30. brownienz says:

sorry for the double post ” dont ” not done lol not gonna bother to correct my spelling mistakes buhahaha

  31. Sh4d0w927 says:

How laughable. Everyone tries to maintain that Homebrew is the moral high road, then this happens. I am relatively sure every retailer online can’t have knowledge of this game’s homebrew enabling capabilities. So that means to me that people from the scene buy all the copies and hike the price up. Flash cards can also enable homebrew right? Why would I ever pay $25-50 for a game someone bought for $7-10 just to take advantage of other people from the homebrew scene. I’d rather give $70 to a company that made a product (flashcard) than $20-50 to some price hiker. What a joke.

    • wololo says:

Although I tend to agree with some of what you wrote, you have to realize that most of the prices online are driven by algorithms nowadays. Sellers have scripts in place that increase/decrease prices depending on the average sale price, sale velocity, etc… of a given item. A minority might be abusing the system, but in many cases, it’s just algorithms doing their job, not necessarily the sellers abusing this specific situation more than any other… A very interesting anecdote on the subject: http://www.michaeleisen.org/blog/?p=358

      • alpmaster says:

Is it possible Nintendo can sue other retailers for selling cubic ninja?
How can that be possible just because of a vulnerability for home brew?

      • Sh4d0w927 says:

Fair enough, but almost all the eBay listing said something about enabling homebrew. I actually just ordered a flash card about a week ago b/c I got a European version of the 25th anniversary Zelda 3DS for very cheap ($60 with Zelda). I won’t say I won’t download any games I don’t own, but the primary intent was to be able to play backups of my owned games on my snazzy new Zelda version. Could the flash card be used to install the exploit? It should work correct?

      • alpmaster says:

Well gamestop changed their price for cubic ninja pre-owned intently for the warehouse price to 39.99 =O

  32. Lambda says:

So I received this on my email this morning:

“I’m not sure if you have purchased this game as a way to hack the 3DS via the recently discovered exploit related to this game, but if so I wanted to let you know that Nintendo is supposed to be releasing a mandatory patch next week that is going to fix that issue. If you wish to cancel your purchase based on this please let me know. Also due to this issue Amazon has authorized a 50% restocking fee less shipping for any returns of this game fyi.”

Nintendo apparently will release a mandatory update, and also, they will charge in case you want tor eturn the game…

    the store is lakeplacegames

    • Anon says:

I’m not saying he’s full of *** because exploit being fixed in the next firmware update is a given in each and every case (assuming that it’s fixable at all), but it’s clear as day that he wants your cart back to resell it at twice the price. Sell it yourself if you aren’t ready to never update your 3DS.

      • G says:

Yeah I’d call BS On this. There is no word anywhere on a ‘mandatory patch’ that will fix the game, and I doubt that Nintendo can even ‘fix the issue’ when there has been no word on exactly how the exploit works with this game.

Also, even if there was an update, it just means you shouldn’t update. You’d be no-worse off than most of the Vita scene, people who had HBC Wii’s / JB PS3s in the day.

      • Lambda says:

        I think the same way

Honestly, now is when they can see how much is this game valued (just for the exploit)

I did reply the email stating “thank you for the information, i know about this, and 50% is quite a lot, considering this situation doesn’t affect you at all, but anyway, you can send the game, i’m not cancelling my order, i’m well aware of all your policies, i’ll be waiting for information about shipping process, thank you”

Not to mention, it’s kinda out of place for the store to be sending emails questioning my reasons to purchase a product.

  33. Steve says:

Lambda I got the exact same email word for word from lakeplacegames. Simply told them I did not wish for cancellation of the order so I have a paper trail of sorts. Pretty funny and a little suspicious if you ask me. I’m sure he just wants to resell since I got mine for $16

  34. WHICH IS IT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! says:

This blog implies coders can open this to backups or kernel access, though it’s not “included”. (The 1st related Wololo blog implies the same.) Smealum implies otherwise, and that it’s just heavily sandboxed *** with ZERO potential for any such access. IF IT’S THE LATTER, PEOPLE BUYING IT FOR 30-80 MAY END UP SEVERELY ***.

BEFORE TOO MANY PEOPLE SPEND $80, IS THIS STUCK IN A DINKY SANDBOX, OR CAN IT BE OPENED TO KERNEL OR BACKUP ACCESS? WHICH IS IT?

    • wololo says:

Only smealum knows for sure at this point (and whoever has access to his source code). In my experience, hackers who have tried to prevent other people from “extending” their hacks into something that could lead to piracy, have failed. Unless in a case such as VHBL, where the work required to get isos to work was so daunting, that people gave up

      • THANKS! THAT'S CRUCIAL INFO. says:

So “further access” been an assumption in both cases, without actual knowledge on the exploit’s mechanics? That’s an important thing people may not have realized about the blogs, and now expect eventual full access for their purchase and offline patience. No offense intended to you, Wololo. In fact, the opposite. I’m just looking out. Your reply is much appreciated. ^ ^

If it’s sandbox stuff like VHBL, which Smealum’s context heavily suggests, it seems to put it in the daunting category you suggested. I’ve seen this referred to as “purely userland”, which seems to be the same thing as VHBL, or simillar. (Or maybe someone like you or The Z can elaborate the difference.) I believe there may be some very, very disappointed buyers out there. This may need to be MUCH clearer.

        • wololo says:

You are correct. Those are assumptions (I prefer to call them educated guesses). I feel we have chosen a wording that makes it clear this will not enable Piracy “as is”, but that our experience tells us it could only be a matter of time until either the next level of security is breached (through this usermode exploit), or someone figure out a way to run roms through userland

          • THANKS! THAT'S CRUCIAL INFO. says:

That’s the misleading part: The wording suggests that while it won’t do such “as is”, it’s likely to be breached for such. How does anyone’s experience support that, if similar hacks (VHBL) have never successfully accomplished anything such thing, due to their inherently limited construction? It gives the impression of “full homebrew” with true non-sandbox access, where kernel access is “inevitable, fairly soon”. If it’s selling for that much, I think people believe that’s what they’re getting. That really may benefit from being made clear. Once again, no offense intended. Just trying to look out. Thanks,Wololo.

          • wololo says:

I want to believe that people are aware this is homebrew only, but are making the “bet” that this could lead to more things down the road. But you’re right, I’ll update the article and try to choose my words more carefully moving forward.

          • Mike says:

Back in the days of HEN for the PSP, all it let you do was run homebrew, until someone sorted out a loader and accessed Kernal.

You can’t access anything on the Vita via vHBL because it is sandboxed into the PSP side of things, you launch vHBL exploits with a PSP game, so the machines stays in that mode, this launches into 3DS mode, it’s not done via a DS game, so you have a 3DS native User Mode exploit, from there somebody can look for a Kernal exploit ( which obviously GW, SKY3DS etc have, and their firmware is out there for a budding enthusiast to reverse and find it).

  35. THANKS! says:

Much appreciated, Wololo. I think that will be very helpful. ^ ^
