Forgotten Homebrews Part 3: Wagic the homebrew?!
Woah there hold on a second, this is a homebrew? Okay I’ll be completely honest here. Around the year 2010, when I was about 13 years old, I believed that this whole ‘Wagic’ thing was an official Sony PSP Game. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this yourself.
That’s the windows version above, but the PSP version looks the same (except in a slightly lower resolution). I mean it looks so professional that I actually thought it was a game developed by SCE, or some other big company. It was later around 2012, when I got myself a PSP, it came to my knowledge that this is a homebrew. It isn’t an official PSP game and it isn’t a port. This is a homebrew game created from scratch by developers with a passionate mind of achieving success. The gameplay is similar to Magic the gathering, so if you’re a Magic the gathering fan, you’ll certainly love this!
Oh and that’s not it, this game is also a multi-platform game!
These are the following devices that it currently supports:
- Sony PSP (both signed and unsigned versions available)
- Windows
- Linux
- The nokia N900 (maemo) and the Nokia N9 (meego)
- Android – Both phones and tablets
- iOS(iPhone/iPad/iPad2)
Okay now that I’ve said all this, you might be wondering:
What exactly is wagic?
Wagic is a multi-platform trading card game. It was developed by passionate card games fans at Wololo.net, including our admin, Wololo. It’s also worth mentioning Zethfox and Mike for putting a lot of their work into the latest update. Wagic is available in several languages. These include: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese and Serbian. Wagic is highly customizable and includes a nice set of mods, as well as custom decks created by many card game fans, and a wide variety of themes!
So what it’s about?
You play as a wizard against the computer with your army of minions. You start off with a few set of cards that includes creatures and spells. As you win battles against the CPU, you’ll earn credits that will allow you to buy more cards and develop more powerful decks. You’ll also unlock cards and new game modes as you make progress throughout the game.
What does it offer?
Wagic supports more than 9400 unique cards, which is almost 10k! Including Planeswalkers support, and Dark Ascension. It also offers a very nice set of game modes. These include:
– Momir Basic mode: To unlock this mode, you’ll have to win a game with exactly 8 lands in your control.
– Difficult mode: To unlock this mode, you’ll need to have at least 10 Opponents marked as “easy”, and win an extra game.
– Evil Twin mode: To unlock this mode, you’ll have to win a game, while having the same number of cards in play as your opponent.
– Random Deck mode: To unlock this mode, you’ll have to win a game, in difficult mode, with 20 life or more.
How can I contribute to the community?
If you’re a C++ developer, and you want to contribute to the game, you can fork the repository from their github and If you think your code is good enough to be official you can drop by their forums https://wololo.net/forum/ and let them know.
I’ll conclude by saying Wagic is definitely a must have homebrew game for all the homebrew enthusiasts out there. Trust me, when you first play this you wouldn’t even believe it’s a ‘homebrew’. So go ahead, and knock yourself out!
Wow thanks 🙂
No probs 🙂
You deserve it for the great work! 🙂
Nice 😀

It will be a good PSV native game 😀
vita browser loaded the pic before the title i thought it was a native wagic iwas all *** homebrew already
Opps sorry about that. I had a feeling this would happen with all the new native vita news coming along.
That’s going to make things a lot easier from here on out.
You’ve really helped me understand the issues. Thanks.
Hey guys, you may want to fix the wololo.com part:-)…and yeah, great game
Doh! Thanks, typo fixed
wololo achieved successfully install the package installer running 3.30 psvita games installing the same update lately pkg.
Ive always been interested in Wagic, however when I tried to downoad it, I realized there were so many damn mods for this HB that I really didn’t know what was the basic thing and where to start…. any help?
The basic install is all you need to get started (http://wololo.net/download). Later on, you’ll probably want to download one of the “images” pack. After that, mods, etc… come later once you get bored with the basic features.
thanks sir
I never knew there was Momir! O_O
Erm.. Excuse Me But If You Stick With SF4 (Street Fighter 4 (Four)) You Realize No One Will Play That Game With You Because You Are Not Playing SSF4 (Super Street Fighter 4 (Four))?Anyway, I Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv You And I Am Disappointed That You Did Not Win Ultimate World Gamer (WCG UG).
I’ve yet to see any that really stand out as being genuine this year. We’ve also got these annoying teams coming over from germany claiming to make a lot of these glyphs this last couple of years.
Figured it out! Needed to add the following include path to the build/home/steve/raspberrypi/tools/arm-bcm2708/gcc-linaro-arm-linux-gnueabihf-raspbian/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libc/usr/include/arm-linux-gnueabihf
I try this HB on my vita 🙂
hi guyz i need help im on 3.18 right now but i miss all exploit game so should i just update to 3.30 and then buy psplus or just stay at 3.18 then wait for a free hack without buying an exploit game at psn store?
Even though I was never a card-game guy, Wagic was one of the first reasons I hacked my PSP.
Are there any other good HB that were developed by Wololo’s team? Give me a game that you guys would highly recommend.
I just started playing this last month!!!! No where near forgotten!!!
Love this game; one of my all time favourite PSP titles. Well into modding it, trying to sort out my own themes, fix old campaigns and eventually, make some of my own. And to think, I only discovered it in time for my 2014 summer vacation.
One of the nice things about Wagic is that it isn’t too difficult for the end user to add content (e.g. themes, campaigns, cards). I encourage anyone with a little time and basic computer literacy to join the scene.
The last official update of Wagic: The Homebrew?! contains most of the cards in pretty much all the sets up to M14. Developers (especially KF1 and Tacoghandi) have kept developing this, up to the latest “Khans of Tarkir”. Awesome!
Holy *** you were 13 in 2010!!!
I was 13 in 2005 when PSP first came out!
So you’re just 5 years older than me. 22 huh? 😛
Publicalo en el foro, de ahí alguien lo escribe acá en el blog si se lo merece.

I love Wagic!..
Still play it all most weekly.
I would love to see a official update.
Th’tas going to make things a lot easier from here on out.
Well, everyone wants to be famous and so I am. I would love to have same eyes as Cameron Diaz and by reading this article, I think I should visit Beverly Hills for it. I got the secret now that in order to look good, you might have to go for plastic surgery and the best place would be Beverly Hills.
The ability to think like that shows you’re an expert
Haha, shouldn’t you be charging for that kind of knowledge?!
