Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? Smash Bros 4 On Vita, GTA V Bundle, and The Playbook 4!
We got some cool little videos for you today, these include stuff like a walkthrough on the PS Vita version of Minecraft, a portable PS4, which looks pretty snazzy, and also a bit of bad news about Project cars, unfortunately.
Now, I found a cool little game for the Vita and PS3 called Tiny Troopers, it’s a top down 3d game, which looks really fun. here’s the trailer for it below, it comes out later this month on the 28th, and a PS4 version is due out in the future, according to the developers ‘We’re very hopeful it wont be far behind the PS3 and Vita release’
The comments section of this was a treasure cove of information, a commenter asked about leveling up, and got this response:
Hi BuriedSorrow – Yes you can level up your troopers to a degree. The elements you can level up include;
Riffle Barrel (increases the rate of damage), Riffle Scope (increases the accuracy, allowing your troopers to hit their targets more frequently), Riffle Magazine (providing your troopers with an increased rate of fire), Riffle Muzzle (increases the range of the troopers firepower), Armour (allowing your troopers to take on more damage), Boots (increases the speed at which the troopers can move, making them harder to hit) and finally, your troopers Rank (increasing your troopers rank will increase their hit points).
There are also a range of outfits specifically designed for your Tiny Troopers that can provide additional abilities such as extra command points upon mission competition, a reduction in the enemy’s observation range or even extra hit points!
Another new game I spotted was called Race the Sun, due out this week, it looks pretty cool. It kind of reminds me of Audiosurf, take a look at the video below:
The game is cross-buy AND cross-save, which is a very pretty incentive indeed. Here’s a quote from the article on PS.Blog.
If you aren’t familiar with Race the Sun, here are a few things your should know:
- Race the Sun is all about speed and survival
- You play as a solar-powered craft that slows down in the shadows
- You die when the sun goes down (or you crash)
- You can catch up to the sun (and delay your death) by grabbing speed boosts
- As you complete objectives you will unlock helpful power-ups and attachments
- The leaderboards (along with the world) are regenerated every 24 hours
- The controls are simple, but the game can be very hard
- The game will be a Cross-Buy title on PS3, PS4, PS Vita and PlayStation TV
Being as reveals have slowed down, I thought I’d give each new game announced it’s own little mini article. What do you think? Do you prefer it, or should I switch back to the previous way?
So now that Minecraft on PS Vita is finally here, after about 5 years, we got a little walkthrough for it. Take a look at it below:
There’s no point in me describing the features of this game, we all know what it is. I’ll just say that it’s cross buy…. to an extent. If you own the PS3 version, the Vita version is free. However, if you are an owner of the PS4 version it’ll cost you $4.99. EU’s cross buy is a bit different. You can get Vita/PS3 version for free if you own either version, and you are able to upgrade to the PS4 version for 3.99EUR, no word on GBP unfortunately.

So, I’m not sure if this is a troll, most likely it is, or someone doesn’t understand what an exclusive is.
A PS Vita owner, has set out on change.org to try and get super smash bros on the Vita, I’ve signed the petition just for the luls, this is convincing argument to get the game over:
Nintendo NEEDS to port this game to the PSVita. Many of us Sony fans don’t want to buy an underpowered console like the Nintendo 3DS
Ouch….
But we would gladly buy a quality title like Smash Bros. Not only would it be benefical for both fans and Nintendo, but probably also REQUIRED by US anititrust law, since Nintendo has a monopoly on games like Smash Bros. by virtue of having no competing title.
No competing title? Well they did try Playstation All Stars, but it kind of flopped. which kinda sucked. I liked that game, there’s still a solid fanbase there and if you visit the game again you’ll find people who are level999, but not enough of a fanbase to consider a sequel. Hopefully they do though, I really enjoyed the game.
On the change.org page, you can leave comments voicing your opinion on the matter, Satoru Iwata himself (supposedly) commented on the petition:
Satoru Iwata – JAPAN
You want a Nintendo game, you buy a Nintendo console. That is how things work.
Please understand.
Of course, we could all see it happening, Sony seem to be rolling it out with the different bundles. The Last Of Us, Destiny, Triple Pack bundle, and a recently announced Little Big Planet 3 Bundle, they really are getting as much shelf space as possible, it’s crazy how many there are.
Look at all these different bundles on Amazon UK (Although some are soft bundles)

This little piece of amazingness is a ‘portable’ PS4 – it’s totally portable, but it has to be plugged in…..
One of the first things I thought when I saw this was ‘oh, well how long does the battery last?’
Well it turns out it doesn’t, because it doesn’t have one.
Jokes aside, this is amazing and I’d love to have one, not for that price though:
- PlayBook 4 – $1,395.00
- PlayBook 4 (you provide your PS4) – $1,095.00
- W/ HDMI OUT – Add $50.00
- US Shipping – $75.00 (international extra)
Unfortunatelty, the video I linked has now been put on private, so it can no longer be shared 🙁

So here’s a bit of bad news, unfortunately. It seems that Project Cars has been delayed untill March next year, for a couple of reasons, here’s the quote from the press release:
Our goal has always been to deliver a landmark title that encompasses the wishes and desires of racing fans from all around the world; something with features and content powered by the community that provide a truly unforgettable and pioneering experience. Whilst a tough decision to make, the change in release date allows the game the greatest chance of success and visibility, and the opportunity to polish the game even further to the high standards that both ourselves and our community demand and expect. We’re eager for you all to see what we’ve been working on in just a few months.
Here’s a bit of gameplay to turn that frown upsidedown!

As long as i can play it on something’s over old PSP resolution on handheld.
240p is definitely a no no
XD SMB on a $ony device hahaha… *rofl*.
Before that happens nintendo would flood the android and iOS market.

with a native p s vita exploit couldn’t homebrew developers make their own smash brothers for the Vita with all the characters they wanted?
Yeah, we’ll get Smash Bros on the vita eventually… Through native hack and emulation.
definitely, 3ds is weak as *** (LMAO that 4.6 GFlops, Vita is 51 GFlops)
just picked this off of japanese forum

Hahaha… 51 Gflops, my friend, pls forget the vita as you only seem to care about calculation power.
Here have a look at the NVidia shield tablet which boast a tegra k1 cpu clocked at 2.2 Ghz and brings up to 326 Gflops, now what about the vita? That’s almost 6.4 times the power of a vita and it only sets you back 300$ bucks including tax and shipping 🙂 and it even has a gamepad, boasts a mini hdmi out, has a display resolution of 1920×1200 which is slightly over “full HD” and you can upgrade it to 128 GB memory via a micro SD card (goodbye proprietary memory).
So who needs a vita? What is a vita anyway?
http://shield.nvidia.de/gaming-tablet/
The Shield would be great for gaming, if it ran Windows. But if there is only Android, I would never spend 300$ to play short games with short development times. I don’t assume every game on Google Play is a mini-game. But the more elaborate titles, which you could compare to a console-level game as the ones 3DS and Vita has, are either very short and thus nothing more than demos, or look really bad compared to the ones on dedicated handhelds or they are available on a handheld anyway. Further more you can’t even play a lot of them with a controller, anyway.
If people flame the PS Vita for having “no games” (which are still 750 Vita games plus PSOne games plus PSP games), this solution really has no games at all.
Hahaha cyclonefox you’re my hero 😉
Actually every word you say is true, I just wanted that Gflop power loving junkie up ahead give something to chew on heheh 🙂
Well, a popular system does not equal a powerful system, this has been proven over and over and over again.
Well the 3ds is so BAAAAD, it just outsold the vita over 5 times… really a bad system… ^^
Oh and btw. the vitas most sold game is uncharted which app. sold 1.24 million copies, the 3ds most popular game sold 1.4 times more copies than there have been vitas sold.
Now the new 3ds has been released in Nippon, I guess it will gain even more momentum now.
Yup. Got one of those.
Sent from my shield tablet.
he is my brother 🙂
I laughed at the smash bros part, the game was a nintendo exclusive and will always be a nintendo exclusive.
