PS TV: Ships with firmware 3.20 – Is capable of using TN-V & PSOne Loader!
The Playstation TV (also known as PS VitaTV) is now available in North America and is shipped with the pre-installed firmware 3.20.
This firmware 3.20 is only available as a pre-installed version (similar to the japanese VitaTV’s & PS Vita 2000’s firmware 2.50) and is basically the same as the firmware 3.18.
This means that the usermode exploits are still working, that the kernel exploits are still working and that the PSOne loader should still be working.
If you decide to buy a PS TV and want to try the great world of eCFW, do not update to firmware 3.30, simply stay at firmware 3.20 and use everything that is labeled as ‘up to firmware 3.18’.
If you head over to Hackinformers page, you will see that he has prepared some photos and a small tutorial how to activate and add your PSN account to your PS TV, even though it is not running the most recent firmware.
Keep in mind that this will not work forever, and should be done as soon as possible, if you are about the purchase a PS TV or if you already did.
It is unknown if the Package Installer and the webkit exploit are still working on firmware 3.20, but firmware 3.20 should be a secondary build of the firmware 3.18, so it should have the very same limitations and capabilities as firmware 3.18.

can i format and change my acc on a psvita with 3.18?
If I have PS Vita with 64GB memory card installed with 3.18 FW, can I just put the put the memory card to the PS TV and load the exploit like a plug-and-play system? Or are there requirements that I need to do like connecting to the internet, formatting the system, petting my cat before being able to play the contents on my mem card.?
The problem may be that when you return that card to your Vita it may ask you to update your vita or format the card to use it again on lower firmware. Has been my experience with 2 Vitas. Not sure about this condition as Vita Tvs 2.20 version does not exist for Vita. Good luck!

I formatted the memory card while it was still in the vita usig firmware 3.30 and then put it in the playstation tv which it said I had to restart the system to use the card and then it asked me to format it again because it was still linked to my psn account. After that it worked fine and the Playstation tv was still on 3.20 firmware
confirmed, when i put my mem card BACK in my vita tv… i couldn’t use it anymore “you must update the vita to use this mem card”

I’m a bit relieved that I’ll be able to use TN-V on my PSTV when it arrives at my house today.

That Laptop has an HDMI IN port. so you can use it on your pc or laptop if it has HDMI IN which is a rare case.

Gladiator Begins works… and you HAVE to download it fresh from the PSN store (using the Update Blocker) NOT use it from the memory card of a pre existing Vita.
I WAS WRONG! for some reason gladiator begins only works UNTIL you restart the TV… ***?!?!!?! Patapon 2 works after restart, that’s all i know… im sticking with that!!!!

Yeah. I am getting the same error message. I did the reformatting of the memory card, proxy server. and always get that error.
I figured it out. I went by the instructions word for word on that one site. for the proxy setting make sure you are using the full IP address in the proxy blocker. Don’t just copy what is in the posted pictures. I got the games to download.
Thanks for this news! I wasn’t in a HUGE rush to pick my PS TV up today (though I was really looking forward to it). Just thought it didn’t necessarily matter when I picked it up today. But I made a point to get up to the store, and get it asap, once I found this out about it. Transferring my exploits and other content to it right now. 😀

To those having trouble with the Vita Update Proxy, I just followed the instructions on that page linked, and was able to get it working. Like the person above me posted, “make sure you are using the full IP address in the proxy blocker. Don’t just copy what is in the posted pictures.”. Anyways, at first using the proxy I was able to get in the store and download TTT. But I received a message stating that it cannot play on the device after trying to launch it (which seems odd at face value, as it’s not a Vita game, and all PSP games should theoretically work). Anyways, so I just transferred more content via my PS3 (including Patapon, which does run). However I haven’t installed the exploit data, and tested TN-V or the PS Loader yet. I also was able to transfer XS Moto and Tekken 2 (which I’ve confirmed runs…haven’t tried to launch XS Moto yet).
Anyways, while I was able to download TTT initially, and can still get into the PS Store without having to update, I can’t download content anymore…and am receiving an error message when I attempt to..

Yes, I was able to successfully hack my PS TV with patapon 1 game exploit..it came with 3.20 firmware

How exactly are you moving data on to the memory card. are you connecting the PSTV to your pc via usb ?
I hope these aren’t stupid questions, but will the PSTV work with my 3.01 firmware memory card with TN-V 101 megamix exploit? And I’m guessing that I wouldn’t be able to access PlayStation Network, Netflix, etc and other apps if I hold myself back on the PSTV’s newer firmwares are around the corner and I have to update if I want to have access to PSN, digital movies from NetFlix, etc.. I’m having a tough decision right now whether it’s worth it to get PSTV and I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. Any replies would greatly be appreciated.

I ran out and bought the ps tv yesterday, factory reset my 16gb mem card in my vita, and set up charles proxy and vita update blocker. Now I have gladiator begins, patapon 1, xs moto, tekken 2, and travel talkman tokyo on my 3.20 ps tv. How do I transfer the exploit save games and homebrew files now?
Easiest way is to set everything up on the vita and then just put the mem card in the vita tv once u get TNV running just use Vita FTP
Word of the wise if you get the ps vita tv bundle with the Lego Movie Videogame it messes up the memory card and gladiator begins will not load it says not compatible unless updated. the kick to the teeth is while the vita tv is 3.20 Lego must need the latest firmware to play so i said screw lego ECFW and PS1 loaader all day everyday
The PSOne Loader does load. The controller stops working once the loader begins though. Other wise this all rocks.

I think sony is recycling power cables the ps4 works with the ps2 cable and the Vita TV runs using the psp power cable
Sony have been using the same analog video cable in Playstation, Playstation 2 and Playstation 3.
I have the vita_update_blocker_v1.2 (portable) running on my computer, I have the proxy set up on the Playstation TV, and I see the “Spoofed latest version to 03.200.000.” message… My Playstation TV is still telling me, “You must update the system software.” when I try to connect to the Playstation store. Anyone else having this problem or know a solution to this problem?
I think its been patched, I was able to access the playstation store on the 14th and yesterday but couldn’t today.

Any word on of this has been fixed yet? Haven’t had a chance to grab my PS-TV, and this will suck if I can’t access TN-V on it for psp loading 🙁
