PS Vita Firmware 3.30 to be released in the next few hours!
We just told you that there is the chance that Sony might release a new Firmware on October the 8th, but it seems that Sony aims for a much earlier release!
They have just confirmed that the Theme supporting PS Vita Firmware 3.30 will be available in less than a day.
Their aimed release date: October, 2nd 2014!
Themes might be a big feature of the new Firmware 3.30, but it will not be the only feature!
Sony told us that they are improving the Calender app, which will be able to set up Events that you can share with friends.
Some Trophy functions were also tweaked, so be sure to check the trophies app, if you decide to update.
While the Themes are the biggest feature of firmware 3.30, keep in mind that updating your PS Vita from 3.18 to 3.30 will not only render the released exploits useless, it will also render the kernel mode exploits useless and might even patch the Package Installer.
While it can not be 100% confirmed that firmware 3.30 will fix the usermode exploits games, the kernel mode exploits and the Package Installer invoke feature via the Email app, keep in mind that it is very very likely that this will happen.
All these nice exploits games, that are listed for firmware 3.18, will not work at firmware 3.30, if Sony did a proper job of blocking all of them.
In the end, it is your decision if you update your PS Vita device(s) or not.
We would just like to mention that yet another release of a kernel mode exploit is very unlikely, and that the ‘annually christmas present’ for 2014 has already been given out, even though it was prematurely.
Updating to firmware 3.30 will leave you with nothing at all. There might be a VHBL release, but these will become more scarce too.
Japanese developer 173210, while seemingly being in a bad mood, announced that he is going to release another VHBL exploit game for the next firmware, but the exploit game is regionally limited, so we can most likely assume that it will only be available for the japanese PSN store.

I want themes but i dont upgrade i don can lose the ZHP and Patapon 2 Tn-V10 :(¡¡¡

So do I buy a new vita if I can find the old model still in a store? Or buy the new LCD (piece of *** that I heard of) and use that model for 3.30? Anyone have the slim model and let me know what to do. Current vita will stay 3.18.
Oh by the way I think only the borderlands two slim package is out in USA.

it does patch the exploits at least pap 1

Your an Effing Life saver i thought i wouldn’t be able to use OCMA 5.0 on 3.18 TN-V10 Did exactly this after doing all other OCMA Instructions and it finally work file transferring with out having to update to 3.30
If I want to update I’m going to have to delete everything. I’m going to have to work out uninstalling psp filer and tn v itself. Grumble.
Hey guys as of 2/10/14 I’m on version 3.15, and the only update I can see available when trying to update via Wifi I see version 3.30.
Is there any way for me to get from 3.15 to 3.18 as of now?

I would say go to 3.18 directly. But in all honesty, you should have done this a week ago, it would have been much easier and safer

The Vita scene imploding was a good thing, so that they could rebuild and actually hack the Vita instead of the PSP emulator, but couldn’t they have waited for the PSTV to be out before destroying it? I was hoping for homebrew and such on my TV later this month 🙁
Same here, I was hoping to play all my homebrews on the Playstation TV and just update my Vita. Besides, once the device comes out and you hacked the vita tv, there really is no reason to update it. You wanna use Netflix and PSN, use your Vita or PS3. But hopefully when the PSTV comes out, hackers will be kind enough to come up with an kernal exploit because I know they are finished with the Vita scene.

Same here. Hoping PSTV doesn’t get the update and it will ship with 3.18 but that might be wishful thinking.
Well, I might as well wait a few more years till native hacking for vita is available.
