Friendly reminder: FW 3.18 Exploit games have not yet been removed! – Now or never!
I know I have written a news like this a week ago, but since the exploit games are still available, I thought about writing yet another news about this topic.
This time I’ve fixed a few flaws, that I have made in my previous news, so this might be interesting for you to read, especially if you live in Australia and Asia.
Last week I have told you which exploit games are the best ones for each region, but I have made a little mistake.
Before you are going to shout at me for ‘wasting your money’, keep in mind that the previously recommended games are not bad, they are at the very top of being the best ones for each region, but there might be a game that is a bit better than the previously recommended ones.
I am just going to start with Europe and Australia, like I did last time.
Recommended FW 3.18 exploit games for Europe
‘Go! Sudoku’ is still the fastest game for the European PSN store, and with its 4€ price is still one of the cheapest out there, if not the cheapest exploit game for firmware 3.18.
While I have told you the last time that Patapon 1 would be the smallest, and yet a pleasent, exploit game, I am going to correct myself.
Patapon 1 and 2 are not that big of a size, but there is a smaller exploit game available in Europe, that is still quite easy to use and exploit.
The game ‘Space Invaders Extreme‘ is apparently smaller than the Patapon games, and is still very easy to use, since it only needs a few presses of buttons (options -> records/highscores) to be triggered at firmware 3.18.
Refer to the video above, if you want to know if you prefer to have a fast game, like Go! Sudoku, or a smaller game, like Space Invaders Extreme.
Recommended FW 3.18 exploit games for Australia
The last time I have told you that the Australian PSN store only has access to the Patapon games, but that was wrong, too.
Apparently the Australian PSN store has also access to ‘Go! Sudoku‘, the fast game I have mentioned above.
The small game ‘Space Invaders Extreme‘ is also available in the Australian PSN store, so you basically have the same options and recommendations as the folks from Europe.
Recommended FW 3.18 exploit games for North America
Nothing has changed here, ‘Talkman Travel: Tokyo‘ is still the best choice in terms of speed (basically instant), price (3$) and size (~18 MegaBytes).
Any other game would be inferior to Talkman Travel: Tokyo, in terms of speed, size and price.
Recommended FW 3.18 exploit games for Japan
Same here, nothing has changed. ‘Patapon 1’ and ‘Patapon 2’ are still the best choices for the Japanese PSN store.
A third alternative would be the ‘Gladiator Begins’ game, but I would rank the Patapon games a bit higher than this one.
Recommended FW 3.18 exploit game for Asia
The selection for the Asian PSN store is a bit smaller, since it neither has Go! Sudoku (depending on the country), Patapon 1, Patapon 2 or most of the other exploit games.
The game ‘Skate Park City‘ is available, though.
If you want to get the exploit game Skate Park City, you will have to keep the following thing in mind, since you can not easily buy via from the PS Vita PSN store application.
While Skate Park City is a good and fast game to launch an eCFW at firmware 3.18, it is a small amount of work to get it via the Asian PSN store.
You will have to buy the exploit game via the Online Playstation Store website, so you can then download the exploit game via the download list feature of the PS Vitas PSN store application.
A PS3 is not necessary for this trick, just a Computer or a mobile phone that is capable of using the Online Playstation Store website.
Afterword
Even if you did not buy the games mentioned above, there are a few alternatives which are not bad at all.
The alternatives for Europe and Australia, which also are available for North America and Japan, are still the Patapon games, which are in fact only Patapon 1 & Patapon 2, but not Patapon 3.
These games are also quite fast, pretty easy to use and not bad themselves. So it is no shame if you bought a Patapon game, instead of the ones mentioned above.
It is incredible that the exploit games are still available, nearly 10 days after the initial information of the exploit games was made public.
I know I have said this last week, but this is your last chance for a PS Vita eCFW, since the next firmware (3.30?) will close ALL THE GAPS that are currently open in firmware 3.18.
This includes the Package Installer, the various kernel exploits and the huge amount of exploit games, that are currently available for firmware 3.18.
It is also possible that Sony releases a buffer firmware, one that simply patches all the exploits, but offers nothing in return. They might want to secure the device before they release the Theme supporting PS Vita firmware, be it called 3.30 or not.

damm.. I still with 3.01 persona2 exploit. Should I update? yes or no?
DO IT! You get to enjoy psn for a little bit anyways
I would recommend to update. It may just be my imagination, but the current ePSP exploit is one of the most stable, I’ve had on the Vita and the advantages of a Vita on latest firmware are great. You can use the PSN for demos, discounts, etc. use remote-play, play online, maybe you missed something interesting in the current games catalog and of course PS Plus is great value.
Every time there is a new firmware, for my part, I can’t wait to update at the latest after an instant game collection update and mostly loose the ability to exploit the ePSP. This time it may be different though. I would first have to complete the Type-0 fan translation and there might be no new exploit until something big happens in the scene.
I like to update just to see exploit games at the top of the psp sales lists :P. If you want some new games then do it for the firmware upgrade. You can grab any of the ps plus games released since you went into airplane mode earlier this year as well as any games you may have purchased (during sales etc.) I’m doing it for fast boot and tiny games. 101 megamix used lots of space =/.
Also If you have a ps4 its a good chance to try remote play. Its far better then I expected (no noticable lag; plays destiny great. d4 too.
for the price might as well jump on board?
That’s strange that Sony still hasn’t even so much as announced a buffer firmware for this after 10 days, let alone pulled the games.
It might be that the maker of those games requested Sony, not to pull out those games yet until they reach an amount of sales. After all, it is not that easy to pull out those games. They are bound by contracts or something like that. Or, it might be that Sony and the makers mutually agreed to boost the sales first. It will fill-in the gap when the games were not on PSN store, or better.
Game Makers says: Thanks indie devs. Thanks wololo, thanks to everyone who bought and will buy the games. $$$$$$$$$
Moreover, they even DISCOUNTED an exploited game a day or two after the leak (Tekken 2 in EU store).
I can only imagine that *something* was introduced in the firmwares after the last exploited FW3.01, something important (if not critical) enough to justify FW3.18 taking its place for year(s) to come.
It seems that Sony wants to have as many updated Vitas out there as possible, but what for?
Could it be that newer firmwares have even more data mining stuff?
Maybe the updated Vitas sell more games which require FW3.10+ and were unusable on FW3.01- (such as SAO:HF)?
Is there any devious plan to neutralize FW3.18 units in the future (for example, by forced firmware update or by disabling PS3-Vita game transfers)?
Is it a lesser evil if people pirate PSP games on first party’s Vita rather than on third parties’ Android smartphones etc?
Did exploits make Vita hardware sales number skyrocket?
This was a great attempt to play the conspiracy theorist, but it wasn’t really insightful so much as paranoid.
Sony wants you to update your Vita for much less devious reasons. Security holes are not only relevant to things like exploiting the system, but also safety and security. If a company identifies a possible leak of your personal information and does nothing about it, the result could be a class action lawsuit for negligence. Do you have 3.2 million dollars laying around?
Updates may also improve functionality. Have you played SAO on the Vita? When you enter an area that has numerous NPC characters, the entire game lags. An update was released for the game that helped to reduce this lag. Sony is no different. They aren’t going to release the system, find a way to improve it, and simply chuckle when customers are dissatisfied.
Is Sony going to invade your system without you having any control over it? No. To enable these features you are suggesting, they would first need you to update to a version that included them. Considering the current update system requires you to approve the update, it is your responsibility to read the documentation and not keep hitting next. If such an update actually happens and you installed it, it is your own fault for being ignorant.
No. There is a higher chance of piracy by smartphone users because a method to load legally purchased games is far less convenient and far more complicated than downloading your existing purchases or restoring from a computer backup.
Probably, but that is just common sense. Supply and demand. An external trigger causing demand to skyrocket for an unlimited supply results in a massive sales boost.
That was an attempt to encourage discussion of why, for the first time in history, Sony hasn’t pulled exploited games after 2 weeks yet. There’s nothing worth commenting so far unfortunately, so I’ll just say that the last meaningful update was firmware 3.00 which enabled PS3 to Vita game transfers. Everything after that was mostly cosmetical and/or “system stability improvements” aka fixing exploits of PSP emulator.
Data mining by Sony is a fact proven on PS3, Vita is no different.
Security hole is called PSN, Vita itself has nothing worth stealing.
Don’t comment if you aren’t going to post anything worth reading.
No need to get hostile just because your comment was proven to be common sense. Why didn’t they pull it all? Because it would cause a decrease in sales far too substantial to justify by preventing eCFW. If answers to your questions aren’t worth reading and you want a discussion but don’t want a reply, your motives are a paradox.
I think, we should wait for native one, because the exploit doesn’t run “very good” yet, image glichering, jagging, like running mp4 video on full hdmi tv, jagging everywhere 🙂
I’m surprised. I figured Sony was going to retaliate hard but this is ridiculous. Smh. It’s been a while since I used my Crunchyroll and Netflix app, so I’m going to enjoy them while they last.
A Dynamics Perhaps
Why they still not removed the exploited games is that they still earning from it. What they removed is just a thing that they earn nothing e.i. demo.
Just remember the hacking scene of PSP. Sony is against on that thing but not fully ’caused it gives them a benefit also. How? A fool question. You may remember this words:
“THE LESSER THE PS VITA UNIT SOLD INTERNATIONALLY, THE HIGHER THE CHANCES OF VULNERABILITY OF HACKING”
Guys i got a question..as far as i know psp cannot handle android game and ps vita well you know…my question is how about the android app? i mean like for example youtube APK..is it possible to modified or convert it into psp ISO? and use it on tn-v?
No…. 1.) APK and ISO code are completely different. 2.) It will never be possible.
Shun the naysayers. SHHHHUN!
You would need to compile Android for the PS Vita. An APK is just an archive of compiled Java or compiled native ARM code with Java wrappers. You would be much better off porting the code directly to a PS Vita homebrew application than attempting to convert the finished product.
Might be time to write Sony and ask them why they haven’t gotten around to removing them yet. These “the end is nigh” articles obviously aren’t doing the trick.
The longer Sony takes to patch/pull the games the better it is for the scene as a whole! It gives more ppl a chance to get an exploit, who might normally miss out (like me for instance heh), and those who do have their Vita hacked more time with access to the PSN and PS Store!
I can now buy FIFA 15 for $39.95 via the US PSN, rather then wait another few weeks for the Aussie release…which would cost me $49.95!
Sony probably had a big meeting with coffee and donuts and sat around a table saying how if they didn’t pull the games yet more people would be able to exploit their systems before the next firmware release and they may even save a few bucks in the process.
Or they sat around eating donuts and looking at all of the revenue they were getting from exploited games. It’s not like this isn’t profitable, no doubt it is selling Vita hardware as well (which is something they really need). There are way too many games to take down without regular users noticing and it honestly would not be worth it.
They aren’t really churning much profit from their now discontinued PSP console, so why not milk what they can from its corpse via the Vita?
Oh and Sony 100% already knows about these exploits, they would check this site daily…so dont waste your time contacting them about it.
They would have had their programmers coding firmware patches to fix these exploits the minute they read the news.
The sheer amount of games they need to patch is probably taking them a fair bit of time! Maybe some of the exploits are difficult to code a fix for. Or maybe the fix causes other problems or even bugs.
And they would also need to BETA test the patches to make sure they dont screw something else up…such as the running of said games.
Whoosh! Like a paper airplane right over your head. Cool story bro.
After reading your post, two Sony employees were so depressed by their feelings of inadequacy that they quit their jobs. Three more have scheduled appointments with human resources to discuss transfers. Sadly, my email providing the necessary patches to prevent 73% of the listed exploits went to the spam folder.
Games are never patched. Ever. All that is done is games are added to a blacklist in the PSP emulator firmware where the firmware will do a hash check on the save file when it is loading. If it matches, you get a corrupt save data error and are SOL.
Exactly what Cheesethief said.
Good sarcasm involves a tell so people know you aren’t serious. Sadly, much of the community on here is either too you or too uptight to see it.
Young. Then again, you kinda works in this situation, too 😉
A hash check isnt really secure at all! You could just slightly modify the file, thus changing its MD5 hash and BAM, no longer matches their hash!
Even the smallest change, like 1 single character would totally change the hash! Unless the hash is made using the part of the savefile that is the most important (like the actual exploit code) and thus changing would break the exploit….but I doubt it!
If what you say is true, how can someone remove the exploit game from a blacklist?
Who didn’t get the Patapon 1 game when it was free?
Someone without VITA at that moment, perhaps?
friendly reminder
cma is to hard to hack for every transfer on every pc
codestation just dont work
i got but not got the save installed yet
space tekken patapon 2
i think ‘personally’ since america bombs syria/iraq again
that its over with sony in the world. or sony in the wild.
I have a favor to ask of you guys. There is an article, I think was written by The Z, that had a chart defining the limitations/boundaries of a usermode exploit with respect to a kernel exploit. I don’t remember the article name and I though I had it bookmarked. If anyone knows the article or anyone slightly related to the description I have provided, kindly drop the link in a response to my comment. It would be highly appreciated. Cheers.
P.S. It would be awesome if the author of the article put the link, I still think it was The Z, not too sure 😉
The chart/diagram was a Venn diagram with kernel being a subset, I believe, of usermode.
Hi, i have a Vita with 3.18.
From my understanding if i download one of the games listed here like “Talkman Travel: Tokyo”, and then install ecfw.
Then I can play my PSP ISOs?
yes
Ok thanks, (currently loading wallet……. lol)
after buying it to psn, all you have to do is download prepackaged savedata from wololo through pc then copy using qcma?… am i right? sorry for being noob
Yeah bruh. just make sure you know how to add ISO’s and homebrews
Hi, I already have this game, what do i do next?
Do i need to download the 2 files from this page: http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/8222
you will need to download the gamesave for what ever exploit game you have. and also install sony CMA on your PC, then the patch open cma to that folder. so it will allow you to transfer the gamesave to your vita.
http://zload.net/v2/archives/vita/
download Sony cma, opencma 3.x and the FW 3.18 TN-V10 eCFW for Talkman Travel: Tokyo ( if you have this game)
first. install sony CMA. copy the files from open cma to the installed folder of sony cma, run the batch file.
unzip the FW 3.18 TN-V10 eCFW for Talkman Travel: Tokyo exploit folder.
follow these instructions.
http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/7672
ignore the part about getting the exploit savegame for your region, you already have that earlier .
then in opencma you will need to transfer the gamesave to overwrite the current one.
im sure someone can provide a better instruction set, but this will help.
http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=39739
Get the save file for your game and a pbp file of 6.60 (also on that page) You put the pbp file in the directory of the save you downloaded and then you transfer the save to your Vita via the CMA. Then go into your vita and start the game.
Hi there,
Thanks for the link to the tutorial.
Can anyone help me i am having trouble installing some of my ISO games, my iso is 1.6Gb and another one is 2.6GB. I have free space in my mem card at around 5gb.
When I transfer its says I need atleast 700mb of space in my Vita, but the file im transfering is 1.6GB and the free space in my memcard is 5GB.
Is there a way to transfer big ISOs?
(I am transferring using the guide where i change the name to GAME1.ISO and place it in the same folder as the exploited Save file)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJZ2jgsiWMQ
Now or never
Never for me as i have zero interest in TN-V
But damn that skate park city game look awesome
Remind me of Jet set radio
I have the gladiator game, should I change to the Talkman Travel: Tokyo? Does faster just mean it boots up faster? Sorry if this is obvious, but I couldn’t tell.
Do it asap, Talkman autoboots the TN-V/ARK on its own without any input, you can keep your Gladiator to dual-boot another eCFW (ARK/TN-V).
or just deinstall gladiator begins and make room for some good games 😀 (make a backup of gladiator begins just in case)
I also did the same, Gladiator begins works but is slower and that annoying music, it is slower. Travelman tokyo loads instant.
That means wasting one of already good games and money spent on it though, just to save mere 340MB on the memcard. Does anyone still use 4GB cards nowadays? And even if you do, comfortable gaming on eCFW starts from 16GB cards, so you’re better off upgrading anyway.
Also note that Gladiator DLC don’t show up in US store as seen on Vita, you’ll have to “buy” all 13 of them (they are free) using a web browser on PC for example.
No modasucka on here wanna waste more than $10 on a 340mb game when we gotta $3 autoload one. I have a 16GB card and I still wouldn’t want to settle for an 100mb exploit game. I got ISO’s to put in. If you want Travel Tokyo, I suggest you get it but if your comfortable with GB, that’s on you.
Dual boot – good idea. now i don’t feel like Gladiator Begins was a total waste. i will have to try this
thanks
Never for me as well. It would be like play the same emulators like I did… 10 years ago. Im looking forward to the new themes, vita tv 🙂 and if an native hack will be avaivable in a year or two, then i will buy a new vita for native hacks 🙂 As simple as that.
I’m quite new to the whole vita hacking process and after reading the article, I was wondering about something, how often/regularly does a new firmware come out (official firmware that is) and how often/regularly does one have to get a new exploit game in such cases?
Also, how easy is it to avoid updating to the latest firmware? From what I hear just opening PSN or connecting to the PC will trigger a automatic update, is that correct or will it ask you?
I thankfully already installed OpenCMA when I did the Go! Sudoku hack so for now I should in theory at least be safe on the PC side of things.
Which brings me to another question, how does one get PSN games when you cannot open PSN on the Vita?
I apologize for these newbie questions, but this is all still new to me. =S
Wikipedia article “PlayStation Vita system software” has OFW release timeline. Compare it to Z’s pic in Afterword section to get an idea about exploit frequency (VHBL=homebrew only, eCFW=PSP and PSX games).
The latest firmware may or may not be downloaded automatically (depending on the parameter in Settings), but it will be installed only if you explicitly agree when it asks for your permission to upgrade.
You can get PSN games to your Vita on an outdated firmware if you use PS3 (to download the game and then transfer it to Vita) or another Vita (swapping its memory card with your one) as long as your PSN account can activate another PS3/Vita on it (up to 2 devices of each type – PS3/PSP/Vita – can be activated simultaneously on a given account IIRC).
I forgot that VHBL isn’t mentioned in the Z’s pic anymore, it’s all eCFW there now. So here’s an actual answer then: VHBL happens at least once for every firmware, eCFW happens like 1-2 times per year. Both exploits can be backported to older firmwares, but exploitable games are very quickly pulled from the store (as in, made impossible to download) until actual exploits are fixed in the next firmware, although some games won’t reappear in the store even after that.
I also forgot that PS4 counts as a device as well, so one account has room for up to 2 of PS4s too.
On avoiding updates, just disable the automatic update in Settings>System>automatic update. I think you can still access the PSN safely but PSN wont give you access if new firmware is released (requires you to update). But its still not auto anymore
It is a very different thing to pull one game (which is already quite a big move from Sony against hackers, to begin with) or pulling so many games at once. And it would make no sense to just pull one or two games, while all the others remain available. Also the PSP is abandoned, which doesn’t make the protection of ePSP irrelevant, but at least lowers the relevance quite a bit. The PSPs PSN store interface has also ceased to exist, so there is no fear of some attack from that side anymore.
I would assume those games will never be pulled, but ePSP will most certainly be patched against those exploits eventually. I don’t think that this will influence the original plan for releasing Firmware 3.30 in the least, as I don’t think it is that important for Sony anyway. It will most likely be synchronous with PS4s version 2.0. If some exploits are not patched until then, there might be a situation, where some games are still exploitable (and even downloadable) after the next firmware. But I would assume, fixing the exploits won’t take as much time.
I’d like to correct that part about PSPs PSN store being completely dead. I have Japanese psn account and I can confirm that it’s still working though for how long I can’t tell.
Actually, only PSPs PSN Store interface remains: it’s just a skeleton with placeholders for everything now. The only useful feature that works on PSP is a Download List (for downloading games bought on another device) and a barely useful Redeem Codes feature. European account user here btw.
That might be true for European PSN store but Japanese one even got new stuff today and everything seems to be working the same way it did before.
I can confirm this, I live in Mexico and the Mexican PSN store is up and running in my PSP. Wich by the way is, in essence, the same store as the US one, but with less content (Including Talkman traveler Tokyo sadly) 🙁
Since Sony finished the support for the PSP, I think that they’re getting some numbers on Vita sales, without harming the system.
I just installed space invader, gives me Data Corrupted. 🙁
i have try to install PAPATON 2 DEMO from my ps3 and nothing see in files transfer..only work for the PATAPON 2 complete?? thanks
PSP Demoes can’t be downloaded or transferred to the Vita. Only once was it possible to do so, and that was a glitch that was fixed within a couple of days.
Well, maybe that’s because of the end of PSP support that they don’t pull off exploit games ? I may be wrong but if the store had been closed for PSP, maybe they can’t remove them actually ? Or they don’t bother to remove them because the flaw will be patched with the new firmware. Anywya, they make more money and the programmers of those games benefits from the sales right now.
Well I was planning on updating to 3.30 when it came out because I love themes and have already bought a PSP Go so I don’t have to keep my Vita on a low firmware, but that webkit is making me reconsider.. Went ahead and bought that Tokyo game because it was cheap and small, thanks for not taking it down yet Sony.
Just remember, if you update your ps vita you’re losing the native vita hack to so, it’s all up to you, and I’m sorry Z but it’s actually too easy to buy in any psn region you don’t need to use the amazon trick, my trick is just to buy a digital code at http://www.play-asia.com is an international store where you can buy almost anything (gaming realated) and you don’t need to have a US credit card or address just use your normal one, I also buy codes from there, is highly recommended, I live in mexico and I have accounts from all regions, so, good luck in buying your exploit game guys! is our last chance 😉
What native hack?
The one mentioned in the previous article.
Sure, Play-Asia is hassle-free (compared to Amazon way), but you’ll have to pay their middle-man fee for your convenience, which kinda undermines if not ruins the whole idea of cheaper out-of-region purchases.
I take it your economy is failing if you think exporting goods means reducing cost. Go to the Nissan dealership and try to convince them they should import a GT-R cheaper than it would cost in Japan. You’ll be lucky if they don’t help you off the lot.
FEATURED
Vita and PS4 games 50% more expensive in Europe (or why and how I moved to a US PSN account)
How to purchase US PSN Cards when you don’t live in the US
Here, have some context. This will save you from writing unrelated things, me from replying to them and everyone from reading it all.
That is called cheating the system by falsifying your origin. You are not importing games, you are tricking the retailer into selling you them without the related taxes and tariffs.
Have some education. This will prevent you from thinking I am the one that needs to be embarrassed that others read my comments.
He meant to buy a us card online and buy from th us store which is cheaper on digital content.
Cheating the system due to points of orgin…. Okay, shady…. But your on a hacking site trying to explain this…. You really are a vigilante behind enemy lines arnt you?
I’m a game developer. I’m one of the people piracy robs from. I can’t really prevent what I don’t take the time to learn about, right?
Hacking and fraud are two different things. Most of the younger crowd just see it as saving a few dollars. It is harder to understand the big picture when all you see is the small screen.
Piracy robs almost nothing from you personally. Your publisher robs you more since most pirates would not have bought your stuff in the first place. Don’t equate 1 download = 1 lost sale.
Also, regardless of whether or not it is shady, cheaper is cheaper. He is still paying MSRP and you are still getting paid for that sale (depending on how your publisher is shafting you out of your share of course).
Or would you just rather he pirate? Since you are equating buying the game from a different region as piracy.
The system itself is punishing its legitimate customers for being born in the wrong country. Don’t even start on the taxes, they are tangentially related to Sony pricing at best. So much for supposedly region-free console. And the question of who robs whom is very open to debate.
When the PS3 first released in Australia it was nearly $1100. Non-US countries like Australia, New Zealand and Brazil get sc*** royally when it comes to anything tech based! So me saving a few bux by getting US PSN games instead of Australian isnt going to keep me up at night!
Example, take the New FIFA 15 (which I dont think is even released yet in Aus for Vita), it costs $39.99 on my US account, and (when it is released) will cost $49.95 on my Aussie account!
And ppl in Brazil get ripped EVEN MORE! Which I didnt think was possible!
Piracy robs nothing from me personally? So you are saying that my overhead, development time, etc are covered by the publisher? That isn’t true. 30% of my sale goes to the publisher and the other 70% is revenue minus those costs. I suggest doing some research into how publishing works. I am the publisher. Platforms like the Sony PSN store are licensed to sell the games on my behalf at a commission. I still absorb the majority of the loss. Not to mention tech support overhead when those who have pirated the games are still naive enough to think they have a right to submit issues and complain, even if it’s just to remind them they cannot.
30% to your definition of the publisher, that is. Technically it’s 30% to the sales platform.
As for pirates not buying the game unless it is pirated, you are probably right. That is why those types (or you, since you are being so persistent about rationalizing it) don’t deserve access to the games. It would have been marked free if it were meant to be distributed with no cost.
i’ll stay with 3.18 hoping into some good homebrew.eg final burn alpha for vita,or…taytotypex or win7? lol why not…
Sorry I’m late, where’s the party? 😛
Haha
as of now, the games have gone
better luck next time
See ya fellas
Are they really gone or are you just trolltarding? which are gone then?
Btw ive already got 2 exploitable games so im good!
I’m not trolling boy, here in the Americas, all have gone… :'(
Still available here in Aus
I didn’t have to buy anything for the 3.18 TN-V as I got Patapon for free a while back when Sony gave it away. Don’t really care about theme but at least I have 2 Vitas, one for home-brew and one for PSN.
I don’t why people keep saying the PSP PSN Store is gone as I’m in it right now on my 2.10 Vita with TN-V. I’m in the US.
PSN access is still available for US PSP users.
Sony has so far only cut PSN access for PSP users in Asia, Europe, Oceania and some parts of Africa. -> http://tech4idiots.org/2014/09/17/sony-cuts-psn-store-access-for-asia-and-europe/
Or you might mean you can still access the PSP games section while on your Vita?
they mean the psp store for the psp not the vita
the psp psn store got closed forever except for US earlier this month
For the US Store, only patapon 2 is still available…so you should hurry up!
Wat? Get Talkman Travel: Tokyo. It’s still in the store…
It’s spelled “Gladiator Begins” not “Gladeater Beggins”
are you done yet roswell?
As long as there are people like you hanging on every word, I will type until my fingers can no longer strike the keys 😉
I’m on Urbanix 1.81 exploit which i believe has access to more ram? Correct me if im wrong.
Should i update & buy the game or stick to current as I can already play psp, ps1 & pretty much every emulator & game so far.
Thanks
I would update if you knew the games were still on the store, The updated vita will support more vita games, PS1 emulator, higher memory card ( i think so), folders for games, better youtube, you can connect to PSN and get tunein radio free, and many more.
Also i was reading there is minimal difference in the amount of memory it has vs other firmware. most homebrew and emulators will work just as good.
i am not an expert so maby someone here would give a better answer or reasoning for one site or the other. if it was me i would do that, providing the game was still on psn and could transfer it, you will probably need a ps3 or PC to DL and transfer.
However if you are happy the way things are, well why fix it if its not broken.
Sure thats useful for potential support for vita games but that wont be needed if many people are working on a native hack as i can then hopefully create a game dump file & place my games on psv homescreen to play which would save me lugging loads of psv games about.
Wasnt sure if there were any other benefits as my vita is really only used for psp, psx & emulators.
It already emulates everything extremely well.
never
Good article, this convinced me to update from 3.01 since Tokyo doesn’t require any button presses. Perfect exploit!
If I buy on of these games and do the hack will I not be able to upgrade the firmware in the future without losing the hack? I’m a PS+ subscriber so what happens when a new firmware comes out?
you wont be able to use psn and therefore ps+ when you do not upgrade once a new fw is released
when a new firmware is released logging into the psn store is not possible without an upgrade
Sony will fix these exploits in the next firmware most definitely, so you’ll have to choose between PSN and eCFW when it comes out.
Your downloaded PS+ games will keep working until your current PS+ subscription expires. Expiration date is stored in each game’s own license file generated at the time of game’s download, so if you have old backups that were made during previous subscription period, they have expired already and you won’t be able to renew them without access to PSN when 3.18 stops being the latest firmware.
Buying another PS+ period now won’t prolong current subscription (it will be activated after the current one is over). So if your PS+ ends in 2 months, all your current PS+ games will expire in 2 months even if you buy another year of PS+ right now because your 3.18 Vita will not be able to connect to PSN by then (to find out that you have another year of PS+ left).
I have a PS3 on the same PS+ account, if an update for the Vita comes out could I still not just download the Vita games onto the PS3 first and then transfer them across or will I still be prompted to update the firmware thus overwriting the customer firmware?
Yes, you can transfer downloaded games from PS3 to Vita. You can also download games to your Vita’s memory card if you insert it into another Vita which is on the latest firmware.
This only works as long as all devices share the same PSN account.
You’ll eventually hit minimum firmware requirement by games themselves though (early to mid-2015 I’d say – SAO:HF already requires 3.15), and nothing can be done about it without native hack. So you’ll have to choose between eCFW and newer games then (this also applies to physical releases), unless kernel exploit for the newer firmware gets released.
still on the fence about this, do you think Sony could could ban a PS account (like an XBOX Live account) or would they not be able to detect the exploit if games are downloaded via the PS3. I only really want it for a SNES emulator, not bothered about PSP and PS1 iso’s
Have you ever used your PSN account on PS3 which had CFW and/or ODE? If you haven’t, your account is safe. Nobody is getting banned until piracy of native Vita games becomes real, that’s for sure.
If Sony still cared about piracy of PSP games on Vita (let alone about people running PSP homebrew), all exploitable games would’ve been pulled from the store long ago.
It’s a known fact that PS3 collects and uploads user activity logs, so it’s safe to assume that both Vita and PS4 do the same. I don’t know whether PS3 uploads connected Vita’s logs or not. Look around PSx Scene if you want to go real deep in technical details.
You could always get a decent (or modified) router and block the traffic associated with the activity logs. That is if you actually buy into the fact that they are specific personal details about your use and not the generic anonymous usage statistics that every EULA informs you about.

is talkman travel tokyo still on US store?
I want to know this also.
Yes, it is (I’ve just checked). $2.99/18MB for autobooting eCFW is a steal.
XS Moto is available as well ($5.99/59MB), get it while you can too, because you’re going to regret not getting it later.
Hi, i order my ps vita today, it will arrvive on saturday 27, the seller told me the firmware is 3.15, my question is if sony makes a new firmware (hope not), is there a method to update to 3.18 and not the posible last firmware? i have a ps3 and already downloaded patapon and xs moto. ready to transfer to vita,. Thanks for your answers.
Yes, there’s a tutorial for this on the forums.
Hi, I’m new to all this, and was wondering, if I do this and install ecfw, will I still be able to use any online capabilities like Netflix or Youtube? Thanks.
Yes, everything will work as long as 3.18 is the latest firmware.
Everything related to PSN will stop working (prompt for an update) once it isn’t, online things that aren’t PSN related (like email and browser) will remain working as is.
not sure about Netflix, but youtube works on outdated firmwares aswell!
I was almost late to the party. Good thing I checked wololo last night. Have 2 exploitable games and can now play metal gear acid 1 and 2 on my vita. Dreams really do come true.
Actually, I’m not surprised at all. They suspended PSP PSN and discontinued production of it. They will not hinder free PSP games from now on. That’s the answer.
Technically, the two are unrelated. What I am interested in is what this means for titles like God Eater 2 that were released within the last year or so and were still receiving updates. I guess no PSN for PSP means the end of DLC. (Haha, it rhymes)

Hey. I read that the games are still available, so i downloaded “Go! Sudoko” from European PSN for 4€. BUT it didnt download it automatically and i cannot press the Download-Button. It looks like they removed it from dowload but you can still buy it, and get nothing =/.
Buddy
Even I got a confirmation frm the Zett via twitter that games are still available, and just downloaded Talkman travel Tokyo.
Happy guys 🙂
Oh iam sorry. Suddenly it works again. Dont know if PSN was down for a few minutes or something, but after a few more tries the download started.
