This may be totally off topic – sorry, but since the PS4 plays content at 60fps, does that mean a 60hz TV is more than sufficient enough to display the best quality from the console?

Strangely enough, I can’t seem to find a definitive answer to this question. 3D movies require a 120Hz TV because you need to display twice as many images, but I assume your TV is not a 3D one anyway.
There are discussions on hardware sites that even at 60fps, a 120Hz screen gives you a smoother experience, preventing any form of “tearing” (when half of 2 frames are displayed at the bottom and top of the screen).

i am in PAL region, i have 2 Samsung HDTVs with 100 hz and 200 hz refresh rates. i can assure 200 hz feels much smoother especially when there is a lot of motion going on. i guess TV extrapolates the frames so that motion feels more smooth. i don’t own a PS4, my observation is for TV shows, movies etc.

Also, it’s good to know you’ve recovered?! (being British, I apologize for the lack of politeness).
You’ve always put a lot of work & time into your articles. Looking forward to Ray’s The Dead. Would be interesting to see it in action on the PS4.

That PS Gold headset pic is so damn funny. 😆

Right! That’s good to know. Yeah, my TV isn’t 3D, but I still don’t have a reason to complain about the 60hz as apposed to 120. 60 is good enough for me. Thanks!

“Okay, minus the profanity, this made me laugh”

I too am sickened by the sounds of certain four letter words but find pleasure in the deaths of small animals.
