Upcoming PS Vita HBL for Firmware 3.30 canceled!
(Note from wololo: this article was intended to be published a couple days ago but got delayed in the ongoing mess). Due to the massive release, leak – call it whatever you want – we are unable to release the supposed to be upcoming firmware 3.30 VHBL game.
It was Patapon 1 and it had a really really good VHBL compatibility, the best since years (for the PS Vita).
Well, that is now useless, due to TN-V being available at 3.18 and Patapon 1 being fixed on higher firmwares.
Not only Patapon 1 but …
… also Patapon 2 and the Patapon 2 demo can be exploited, if you happen to have those currently installed.
There was a one-day window for being able to get the Patapon 2 demo onto your PS Vita, that was a few months ago, as the “blacklist” for the download list of the PSN was disabled, which enabled you to download any PSP/PS1 content onto your PS Vita.
It is currently impossible to install the Patapon 2 demo onto your PS Vita, regardless of any kind of PS3 or Package Installer connection. You can not install the demo!
So simply buy Patapon 1 or Patapon 2, follow the video and enjoy the TN-V eCFW at firmware 3.18.
This might be the last exploit release for a lot of months, if not years.

No. Gladiator has ecfw files right now. It will be a while before the other exploit games get eCFW ported to them.

I doubt that this will be the last exploit for years. While there will probably be a big dry spell now, I doubt it will last years before new usermode exploits are found…
New exploits will definitely be found, however low the chances, but they might not be released to the public. The reason for this leak goes beyond what you and I know.
The leak appears to be due to anger after the initial kexploit leak. What are you suggesting as a reason for them to leak most or all of the known exploits?
Petty childishness. That’s basically what every scene is compiled of. Pettiness and childishness. People generally go into the scene for various wrong reasons and misconceptions. Then when things develop as any intelligent person would foresee, a choice few lose their *** over it.
It’s their time, though, so they are entitled to destroy their hobby as they see fit. Frankly, this was long overdue in the Vita scene. People are very selfish in this scene and go figure this is the result.
Still, I’ll reap the rewards. Not casting judgement on anyone or any event. It’s just what it is. (Everyone can spare me the “then you do it” attitude. THIS is why I don’t “do it” in the Vita scene)
I hope the US files for Patapon 2 are released soon.

Qwikrazor87 posted a download link to a file about 260 MB. It has a lot of the exploit files for a lot of games. For patapon 2 throught the DISTIB file and extract the Patapon 2 US rar file to the saves you need for vhbl. Its is also possible to get ecfw with these files , the 6.60 OFW eboot file, and the tn-v10 files

Just find the DISTRIB file and look for the file you need. Take that then extract it to get your exploit saves.

Why do you need to buy anything? You already have Gladiator Begins, no need for the others.
Well if you want TN-X and perfect PSX sound emulation then Tekken 2.
Avoid Tekken 2 in the US region. It’s buggy and unreliable.
Lucky I was able to download Patapon 1 for free when Sony gave it as a gift along with Wild Arms, Patchwork Heroes, and Piyotama. I think it was a Playstation Store anniversary thing.

So I’m interested in this but my question is since this is the latest firmware then that means that we can go online to PSN store and trophies would be working–correct? Also Patapon 2 file is for EU, and not for the US; so does that matter, if we are in the US region? If it does does, does anybody any have the US files?
Also I’m guessing we would have two user interfaces on our Vita right; the TN-V–XMB interface–and the normal Vita UI or do we only have one interface after installing this exploit? :\

I combined them from leaked VHBL files and Universal loader from qwikrazor87. I have not tested them but people have reported to me that they work. (US file I’m not sure but EU works)

The compatibility differences are only in VHBL. All games that can run TN-V , performe the same way. Just don’t use Minis to run TN-V, as they can not run files bigger than 24 MB.
So nothing for Vita Tv then? Vita TV can only use Asia/JP PSN account. Playing PSP on the big screen yaw.

just picked up gladiator beginns yesterday after i messed up my 100-in-1 megamix exploit ^^ don´t know if i should change to patapon, it´s the better game but has it as kexploit advantages? faster? better? ^^

Kind of funny the priority of getting rid of ps one off store over psp? Found ff7 in psp games on us store but bye bye xs moto. Does that mean they are more worried over psx emulation, or coincidence that not all could be removed at one time? Or did they discover greater vulnerabilities in ps one emu?

So this article was meant for a couple days ago? Let me get this straight…
There is Patapon 2, which is $5.99 (or free, as some mentioned) and “the best in years” or Gladiator Begins, which is $7.99 and good enough. The 3.30 exploit was already cancelled, but the “chaos” prevented a site that does nothing more than release the information from doing the one thing it is intended for, which is passing that info along. Not to mention, the Patapon 2 demo should have been downloaded a few months ago. Now that all of this happened, a new exploit may be months or even years.
So if I am following correctly, this site is useless for anything more than reading about how things could have been or sloppy seconds on the exploits that haven’t been patched yet but work well enough? It’s all the better this happened. Maybe when things settle down and start up again, we will get a Don King that actually knows how promoting works and doesn’t call forum releases “ninja” when Sony employees have an email, too.
It’s only “the best in years” for VHBL, but it was just leaked with a kernel exploit so that doesn’t really matter. Also, how do you suggest that anyone prevent Sony from participating in ninja releases? (which, btw, there is no evidence of) Wololo has no way of differentiating you and I from Sony employees, so naturally a ninja release has the potential to go to Sony as well. This leak was due to a fight between the devs, and had absolutely nothing to do with Sony. (other than helping them and hurting everyone else)

I am not suggesting anyone prevents Sony from participating in a ninja release, which I think was meant to be responding to a ninja release. I am saying the entire premise that these ninja releases somehow lead to more people obtaining the exploit before Sony removes the game is just coincidence. Sony employees are not some mutated race of less-than-intelligent life forms and definitely not the ones posting “How I use sayved gem download from intersnet, need bi Papatoon?”
Nobody knows how Sony will respond. A lot of the stuff on Twitter had the sound of “So Sony can remove one game at a time, but what about 50 all at once? Care to risk that much revenue, Sony?”
The only “qualified” people I have seen going on about how much this hurt the community seem a lot more focused on how their release was ruined. I couldn’t care less what the fight was about or what some PR rep thinks about the future. What is important is to use this opportunity as a chance to push back.
If Sony takes down all of the games, petition that it is unfair to the customers and developers. Ask them why they released a DevKit for Unity if they are saying homebrew is somehow violating your rights as a paid hardware owner. Tell them you already paid $30 for the game with your PSP, so that $10 to download it makes the $200 hardware purchase seem a little too high to recommend to anyone. If all else fails, go grab the PSM SDK. It was worth a shot.
Cant believe noone asked this yet but cant we use the just released vita package installer to install the pkg for the patapon 2 demo? You said it worked for free material.

Oh yeah I misread that as “PS3 package installer connection” thinking it had nothing to do with the new release. I’d like to know why this is though? Are PSP demos not DRM free like I guess PS Vita demos are?

Ok, so i have the game Patapon2, downloaded today, using CMA, got the exploit files copied to the save game folder, transferred all over to the vita including the 660.PBP file, run game, loads screen goes white/green/blue then error (C1-2858-3), tried changing the country etc but getting this all the time, any idea’s anyone?

What would be the point to leak all of these even if they did have a Vita hack? We should probably accept the evidence that we have, that Acid_Snake was angry with qwikrazor87 and did this to hurt him, rather than inventing reasons to be more optimistic.

– It was on 3.01 tn king of pool-v10
– Upgrade to 3.18
– Probe the king of pool to see if it worked and it did not (error loading savedata)
– Buy the Patapon 2 and now I again tnv-10
– Buy Sport Superbike 2 and now I also have the ps1 loader
