Total_Noob releases the 10th version of his TN-V eCFW for the PS Vita!
After Total_Noob has released his versions TN-V9.6 and TN-V9.7 some weeks ago, he is back with yet another revision of his TN-V eCFW for the PS Vita.
The TN-V10 eCFW works at PS Vita devices up to firmware 3.01. Any firmware below 3.01 should be supported too.
Firmwares higher than 3.01 are (officially) not supported.
But what has changed?
To make is fast and painless, here is the new changelog of the TN-V10 eCFW:
– Added CSPSP Online Multiplayer support! COME ONLINE BUDDIES!
– Added homebrew sorter feature support in PSPFiler.
– Added TN Savestate plugin support with PS1 games using PEOPS SPU plugin.
– Added ‘SELECT button’ in recovery menu. Now you can either open the VSH menu or the recovery menu by pressing SELECT in the XMB.
– Added ‘Suspend device’ and ‘Restart VSH’ to recovery menu.– Added ‘Reset TN-V settings’ in recovery menu (Advanced ->).
– Removed March33 and Sony NP9660 ISO drivers. The default ISO driver is now Inferno Driver.
While some of the changes are awesome, like the re-support of organizing your Homebrews, games and other programms via PSPFiler 6.6, some other ones are highly questionable IMO, like the removal of older ISO drivers.
I myself think that the recovery menu changes since TN-V9.7 are highly unnecessary and lessen the overall quality of the eCFW, but TN surely has his reasons to maim the recovery menu.

The update can be downloaded, like usually, via the System-Update function of the XMB, or you can download TN-V10 here manually.

Was thinking about updating my Vita since I just got a PSP GO the only thing that kept me from doing so was the hope for some type of online gaming ability, Im hoping that is what the CSPSP online feature adds. Now I just gotta get home from work and update.

what a let down, I was hoping it was something along the lines of the PRO CFW online client. The old Counter Strike never crossed my mind. Great addition for those of you missing the Counter Strike homebrew, I will be checking it out myself. The homebrew sorting with PSP Filer is nice to be able to use now. Keep the updates and improvements coming TN, I love your work.

After actually using his 10th version, instead of just reading the changes, it is not as bad as Ive stated it to be in the news.
But still, it could be improved with dealing with changes dynamically.
Remove the standby and the reset VSH feature from the Recovery Menu and replace it with a dynamic detection:
If something gets changed, that will need a VSH reset to be actually changed, exiting the recovery menu should automatically reset the VSH.
If you change something that does not need a VSH reset (e.g. changing the CPU speed, changing something for GAME/POPS), then you simply return to the XMB, without reseting the VSH.
About the standby function, simply press the home or lock button of the Vita, that suspends the device too.
The other TN-V10 changes are fine, since everything “should” work with Inferno.
I think there was a changes in the TN-V 9 that i didn’t like so that was basically why I didn’t update (the FTP option I think was removed) but once it comes back i might update it.
Other than that i don’t remember a lot of things i dislike, it’s a f*cking great job he done on those eCFW and i can do nothing but congrats (and donate to) him
You can just install VitaFTP, and I think there were some xmb mods (not sure how they work though)
me neither….but i don’t really need the new improvement of the updates so I’m quite happy 😀

The suspend device isn’t really a suspend action, it’s more like a freeze. Because the system stops completely … and when you go back it takes a few second to start :/

But as you said when they update and remove old good features its not an upgrade its a downgrade. With my experience you need all the ISO drivers you can get as some games work with one where others wont so limiting it to 1 ISO driver you’ve probably limited games to half now.
But as you can get older versions of TN-V then thats probably the best, stay on older working versions till the features are re-added and an actual upgrade.

anyone else here having trouble launching PSP Filer? Im on 3.01 FIFA exploit TN-V10 since updting PSP Filer will not launch it hangs and then I get errr message.
How many people using this? Is there a statistical info about that?
Shoot, am i really the ONLY one getting the Blue Screen? i got it after updating from 9.5 to 9.6. So i went back to 9.5; tried 9.7 blue screen. Went back to 9.5. Tried 10 got blue screen AGAIN. I cant possibly be the only one.
Nope. I’m experiencing it as well when going to Game > Memory Stick. How do we fix this? I’m on TN-V10 on FW 3.18 using the “Gladiator Begins” kernel exploit that was just released.
You ever find a fix for this? TN-V wont stop loading after I select memory stick.
