Playstation 4 Firmware 2.00 announced – Introduces Share Play
The Playstation 4 will receive a new system software update pretty soon, which will introduce the new Share Play feature.
But what is Share Play? Well, let me explain it to you.
Sony has just announced this new feature, which will be a part of the new PS4 firmware version 2.00, that should be available around fall.
Share Play is basically a feature that will enable you to give your controller virtually to another player, it basically lets other people use their controller to control your game, via the internet.
The other player does not have to own the game themselves and they can be at the other end of the world, a pretty neat feature!
Another thing that this firmware will have, is a native YouTube application, so it is more convenient for you to upload videos and view videos.
It is expected that Sony will publish more information about Share Play in near future, and they will, most likely, say a few more words about the PS4 Firmware 2.00.

Don’t know how I feel about this one guys….giving some one else control of my game?! He’ll surely kill my character and ruin my stats!!! plus I have a sneaky feeling that there will eventually be a work around giving someone unauthorized access to the stuff on my ps4..if they can control my game with their controller, what else can they get into and ‘control’ using hacks and such…maybe it’s just me being paranoid..too many hollywood movies lol..idk
I wonder if its going to be like playing on the same console. does this mean that my friends and I can play my games together or that i can watch them play without me?
i have a problem with my ps3 standing at my parents house.
eatch time i want to continue playing maffia2 like i did on the first xbox
but eatch time … im wanted and i cant play being wanted (maybe a sisser)
but eatch time somebody made play on ps3 and got me wanted
so is this shareplay gonna do the exact same but online now ?
This is one of the neater things they’ve announced for the Gaikai stuff, IMO. I’m glad they’ve finally said when it’s being released.
