Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? New PS4 Interface Leak (Folders!!),Assassins Creed Monopoly & Bioshock on iOS!
[Note from Wololo: I was on holiday earlier in August and am now publishing a backlog of articles that our bloggers wrote while I was away. Since I am the only one with publishing rights on the blog, some of the articles might not appear as “fresh” as they should be. I am the one to blame, not the bloggers]
So this week, there’s plenty of news! Just take a look at how many tabs I have open! And all of this, minus the ones I didn’t think were worth the hassle made it into this article! First off, Vita games… Or should I say… Game 🙁
Unmechanical: Extended Edition
Originally a PC game, developed by Talawa Games and Teotl Studios, the puzzle platformer did pretty well and won numerous awards, so now Grip Games are going to publish is on the PS Store, for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. And I know what you’re thinking, yes, it is Cross-Buy compatible, so if you buy it for the Vita, you have it on the PS4, and PS3 free of charge.
Here’s the announcement trailer for the game:
The extended edition involves a whole new set of puzzles and story elements.
The Extended edition brings a completely new adventure in the underground complex, where we learn more about the secrets of the place and meet new characters. This content is exclusive to game consoles and you won’t be able to play it anywhere else.
You can bet on it looking good, too:
Unmechanical: Extended Edition is made using the Unreal Engine technology and that means it is going to be gorgeous to look at. It runs at 60fps and 1080p on the PlayStation 4 and it may be one of the best looking games for PS Vita ever. You can of course count on Cross-Buy, once the game is released.
The games set release date is ‘coming soon’ which seems fair enough for a new announcement, it’d be good if it’s sooner rather than later, they do say in the article that it will be later this year, or early next. So it’s not too long of a wait, but I’m not guessing it’s not really on anyones most wanted list currently…
So, the most important news first, comes in the form of a leak… of a possible system update! Now take this with a pinch of salt, like all leaks. But it’s entirely possible that it’s true. Here’s the photos:
Click on either to enlarge them.
If we look at the Killzone:Shadowfall logo in the first picture, where it’s in the folder you’ll see the ESRB logo on it…. whereas in the second one it isn’t there. So unfortunately, I’m calling fake for the moment on these ones….
It seems they’ve improved the invite system too, here’s a video of it:
This looks like a brilliant improvement however, and hopefully some of this stuff Sony should take onboard!

A new game, called #Killallzombies was announced on the PS Blog this week, and it looks pretty cool (like all games, right?)
Well the developers, Beatshapers, seem to have put some emphasis on the social element of it also, like a few of the Playstation games already you can impact the game via the livestream, with words like, you’ve guessed it. ‘#killallzombies’ (guess what it does?)
I’m rubbish at explaining, here’s the damn video already:
I bet you guys just scroll through to see videos anyway and don’t even read this, right?
In which case… blah blah blah blah 😀
In the blog they’ve described how we can impact the game upon viewing, here’s what was said:
- Every 80 seconds, we have a choice of two encounter options available to vote via interactions including: encounter spawns, various arena events, timed bonuses and perks.
- The perk select screen has its own voting mechanic in which if the player decides to wait and select the spectator’s most voted perk, the player will be offered additional XP and Health.
- The chat commands are available throughout the broadcast as we are executing chat commands in real time, allowing the spectators to vote on a variety of imperative decisions, such as increasing or decreasing your character’s speed or health, spawning more or less enemies, unlocking new weapons, deliberately changing the camera angle to a less effective perspective, or even reversing the entire control scheme!
I’m getting this.

Right, so it’s time for the weekly piece on TLoU:R, this time its about a fan made video, along with a mention about Ellie. Yep, 2-in-1!
This fan made video was made entirely out of the Photo mode, included in the Remastered version, the creator, Grant Voegtle mentions in the description how the photo mode is ‘both a blessing and a curse’ and he has created this video with it:
Even game director, Neil Druckmann gave the video credit in a tweet, saying that it’s unbelievable:
Holy ***. This fan-made trailer for The Last of Us done entirely in Photo mode is unbelievable. Major spoilers: https://t.co/O22ciw8JzF

Let’s jump straight into the news about Ellie, even though the game has been out for over a year now, it’s amazing how much information is still creeping out about the characters, ,game and everything.
So apparently, Ellie was going to be in Uncharted 2, but they instead held onto the idea and decided to implement the father-duaghter relationship in TLoU instead.
We’d go to dinner a lot during Uncharted 2 and challenge each other on this kind of eco-concept of how can you tell a story through only gameplay, what if you didn’t have any dialogue. Could you build a relationship, build a bond with zero dialogue, and cry and emote and relate to those characters?, we came up with this mute girl concept – and we were thinking about Drake at the time – and through gameplay she wakes you up, you climb up this rotten alleyway and this rooftop and she shows you her city and you can see the pride in the people and this place.
It doesn’t take a genius to notice that the ‘mute girl’ concept morphed into tenzin, but it’s a brilliant idea and couldn’t really imagine a small girl in UC2 that would fit this character.

There’s been quite a bit of news about Assassins Creed this week too, dev diarys to announcements to.. erm… Monopoly.
First up though, a dev diary for the AC: Unity was released, and it’s pretty interesting, have a gander:
The video showcases new music tracks, and outlines how past errors in the AC universe has been fixed, and a whole new detection system, too. which seems interesting.

Okay, so the rumoured game that was only for last-gen consoles is true, and rather than the name ‘Comet’ it is called ‘Rogue’, here’s the trailer first off:
The game is set between the 7 year war in America, in the year 1758, (Although knowing AC, it’ll be over quite a few years) This is an interesting dynamic as it may bridge the gap between AC III and IV. Judging by the trailer, interestingly you play a templar, and being as you were once an assassin, you’ll obviously have the parkour skills, Eagle vision and the likes. My bet is on a Gamescom appearance, I can’t wait! (hopefully the same release date, too)
Something else featured in the trailer, were ships! My favourite part of AC IV was the pirate ships, so I’m glad to see this in the game, and has (unfortunately) sold me on this years AC… again.
The Evil Within, you say?
I know that game! But how much do you know about it?
Well, the ESRB rating was put online this week, and it shows some pretty gory parts about the game. Mild spoilers, unfortunately.
If you don’t want to read it, I could sum it up by saying: ‘Gore, mutilation, decapitation, profanity’
But here’s the full description:
This is a survival-horror action game in which players assume the role of a police detective investigating murders at an insane asylum. As players investigate and explore the mysterious environments, they use knives, pistols, shotguns, and explosives to kill human-like creatures and monsters. The frenetic combat is accompanied by screams of pain and realistic gunfire. Some attacks result in impalement and dismemberment/decapitation, with large blood-splatter effects; some environments also depict blood-splattered floors and mutilated bodies with exposed organs/viscera. Cutscenes also depict intense acts of violence: a flashback of children being burned alive; a character decapitated by a guillotine; a man set ablaze while bound to a chair. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” can be heard in the dialogue.
There’s been a bit more news on LBP3, Tom O’Connor, mentioned how there is no longer that pesky thermometer that were on previous iterations of the game on PS3, so your levels are literally as big as your Hard drive.
Here’s what he said:
No longer are you locked by your thermometer. You can now stitch levels together, so your levels, basically, are as big as the hard drive in your PS4.
This is pretty cool, but I can see problems trying to run a 1gb level built on a PS4 trying to play on the PS3. Can’t you?
Have a listen to the blogcast on Soundcloud, here, it reveals a few more interesting facts about the game, too!
A bit of Xbox news now, in the form of a retailer leak, but it’s still newsworthy!
So, who would be interested in a white Xbox one?
Well, with hints of one appearing, and seemingly confirmed by a Microsoft spokesperson, the console will be released later this year bundled with Sunset Overdrive.
Supposedly, there’s also a 1tb version of the console on its way too, maybe they’re one in the same?
Take a look at this Neogaf post here.
Here’s a bit of interesting failure, for those of you who really liked the first Bioshock, or only have an iPad and not a PC, Xbox or PS3, Bioshock 1 is coming to the format, featuring the following:
- Awkward controls
- Annoying and panicky boss fights (worse than original)
- Poor textures
- And much, much more!
Gamespot have done a video on the game, with comparisons and playing it, here it is:
What do you guys think?
So now it’s time for the *** news of the week, and we seem to have quite a few. Monopoly seem to have partnered with Ubisoft, for an Assassins Creed style board game, and with Nintendo for a Zelda style game too, here’s what they both look like (click to enlarge):
This looks pretty cool, to read up more on each of them head HERE for the Assassins creed board, and HERE for the Zelda themed board.
Something else WTH?
Of course! Well it’s only your favourite games running on a TV from the 1970’s Saints Row, GTA V, and Watch_Dogs, along with plenty of picture sif you head to the website.
Here’s the link showing the videos and pictures, I’ve only posted one as I’ve probably written too much on this one article. Hey ho!
