How to: Share screenshots, videos or broadcast your gameplay on PS4 (by yunleletou)
Note from Wololo: This tutorial was initially published by /Talk member yunleletou, as part of our monthly tutorial contest. yunleletou won the best PS4 tutorial prize (a $10 PSN Code) for his entry. You can find the original post here.
Among the new buttons on the PlayStation controller is the Share button that will let you instantly share screenshots, video clips, and even broadcast live your parties.
Before starting this tutorial, you must register all partners which are distributed all shared media. I therefore recommend that you create an account on Facebook, Twitter, Ustream and Twitch.
So here’s the whole process step by step.
- First, you must activate your Facebook and Twitter accounts on your PlayStation 4, to do this, you must go to the Settings menu and then PSN.
- Select the option Link to other services.
- Choose the social network for which you want to enter your information.
- Allow PSN and Facebook to share your information by selecting Publish Settings.
- Once all these steps done, you are ready to share your experience.
Share your videos and screenshots
Begin to play your game, and when you are at the right moment you want to share, press the Share button on your DualShock 4.
Three options are available to you, video sharing, screen capture or broadcast your game.
- For the video clip, select Download upstream video clip, then choose the video you want to share. Note that during a normal game, it is the last 15 minutes that are recorded, except from the last time you clicked on the Share button. The videos are arranged in chronological order.
- By pressing the round button, you will return to the previous menu, to send a previous video of another game.
- After choosing your video, select it. Insert the name and comment that you want to appear on your Facebook profile. At the time of this writing it is impossible to share a video via Twitter.
- To share a screenshot, choose in the first menu Download upstream a screenshot.
- Select the capture that you have taken, or an earlier taken capture.
- Or like videos, pressing round, you go back to your games in which you have taken a capture before.
- Once you’ve chosen your capture, select it. Two options exist to you, either on Facebook or on Twitter.
- When sharing the screenshot on twitter, type your comment including hashtags and other references you want, and select Share.
- Once your screenshot or video clip sent, a notification will appear on the screen informing you that you shared a screenshot.
Broadcast your games live
If you want to broadcast your live gameplay, it is also through this menu that things will be done. Only Twitch and Ustream are available for streaming, no other option is possible at present.
- After pressing the Share button on the controller, select Broadcast the game.
- Select the service to which you have subscribed, for example Twitch.
- From there, you can choose the settings for your sharing. Include video from PlayStation Camera, that is to say, your face is seen by the camera, the microphone (if you connected your headset or your PS Camera), and whether or not you want to display comments at the bottom of the screen. You must also give a name to your channel, and if you want to share your link on your Twitter or Facebook account then tick the specific boxes.
- Once this is completed, select Start to broadcast your screen and now streaming on your TV. You’ll see your screen divided into several parts, the game in three quarters of the screen, and one quarter what the PS camera is seeing, and also the number of people watching your game and comments below the screen.
- Press the Share button again on the DS4, and you can change some settings in your broadcast like turning it off.
To stop the broadcast, just select Stop Broadcasting. A display screen informing you that your streaming is complete appears, you can return to your normal activities.
Share your screenshots, but only with your PSN friends
It is also always possible to send your captures only someone on the Sony PSN.
No need to be subscribed to PlayStation + service, you just need to go to the Messages menu and select Create message.
- Select a friend in your friends list.
- Type your message, then click the icon to the left to insert a picture or a voice message.
- Select the menu Select a screenshot.
- Choose the game and then select the capture you want to send.
- Send your message by selecting Send.
You shared your screenshot with a PSN friend.
I hope this will help people to know all the sharing ways that can be done in your PS4.

Sooo easy e3 already told this duuuh
Addme on Psn if you saw e3 about this already Reshiram25
This is getting ridiculous. Maybe the tutorial contest needs to be rethought to where they have to be something that’s not included in the readme.txt or the manual for the console. I used to like this site but catering to people that can’t even be bothered to read the damn instructions by giving out money to people that just do copy/paste jobs of the instructions is insulting. FFS this site is supposed to be a hacking/modding site. If people need their hand held every step of the way on every little thing then they have no business being on a site such as this
I second this.

It’s not that big difference from sony guide
Complaining in the comments is not going to achieve much. Writing your own tutorials to raise the quality, on the other hand… I read *lots* of comments from people who pretend they could do better, yet month after month, the people who complain never participate a single time… maybe, just maybe, it’s actually more difficult to write even a simple tutorial, than you think.
Can someone please upload a tutorial on how to take a sh¡t inside my PS3 super slim disc drive?(:
Its too fu(king difficult to comprehend myself.
1) Place Super Slim PS3 on floor
2) For safety make sure you have something to brace yourself against nearby so you don’t fall
3) Slide Bluray drive cover to the left
4) Unbuckle your belt
5) Unzip your pants
6) Pull down your pants
7) Squat over the PS3 keeping your brown eye centered directly over the PS3’s bluray drive
8) Begin pushing out your deuce until it has completely cleared your bunghole
9) If all went well you have successfully took a dump inside your PS3 Super Slim
So do I win the next tutorial contest? At least this wasn’t copy/pasted from another source
Thanks, man!
I did everything correctly, but now I can’t shut the drive lid, so I used some force and got it shut, now my PS3 recognises the sh¡t as Sonic 06.
