How to: Connect and use two dualshock 3 on Playstation TV / psvita TV (by Jeremylars)
Note from Wololo: This tutorial was initially published by /Talk member jeremylars, as part of our monthly tutorial contest. Jeremylars won the best PS Vita tutorial prize (a $10 PSN Code) for his entry. You can find the original post here.
The PSVITA TV lets you play psvita, psone and psp games. It also lets you stream your ps4 games. It is easy to connect one dualshock 3 and use it to play, but connecting 2 dualshock 3 controllers is a bit more complicated. Through this tutorial, I’ll explain how to connect and use 2 dualshock 3 controllers at the same time on psvita tv.
You will need :
- A PlayStation TV (Psvita TV)
- Two Dualshock 3 controllers
- The Dualshock 3 USB cable
After connecting normally the first controller, follow these steps :
- At the back of the case of Psvita TV, there is a USB port. Plug in the USB cable of the DualShock 3.
- The red LED will begin to flash, signaling the support of the controller.
- Press the PS button. The red LED switches on two.
- You can now unplug your USB cable and play supported games with your friends.
Turning off the controller and switching from the first to the second player :
- Keep pressing and hold the PS button on the DualShock 3, a menu will appear. In the controller area, simply select Turn off.
- The “number of the controller” option will let you change the first controller to second or the second to the first.
I hope this will help a lot of people.
Enjoy
Nextt time post guide how to power up your ps vita etc
So that does now what?
Does this enable one to play for example ps one titles like tekken 1/2 which has a 2 two player mode to actually play it with two ppl?
This tutorial does not cover this, not even hinting at that. So why bother reading it, let alone doing it.
There is not a single psp game with on one console multiplayer and there is no vita game either.
Only games that could now be playable in multi are the available ps one games I guess.
Yes, that is exactly what it does. Can also do multiplayer remotely on PS4 through this method as well.
Ah ok. But why can’t that be stated somewhere?
This should normally be the articles headliner, like:
How to: PS one & PS 4 local multiplayer on PS Vita TV, two controller setup!
I think the upcoming skullgirls encore that going to be on vita and etc
Going to support this method so you can play two players interest of one
next up, how to dress up and go to the bathroom
Haha right?
The thing that worries me is that when I voted, which wasn’t that long before the deadline, this had almost no votes, and the tutorial I voted for had a lot. And judging by the reaction from people, I don’t think this tutorial got that many votes against the far better alternatives. What I’m trying to say here is that this doesn’t seem right at all.
i got some trouble finding the site and reading blogs so it would be great if there was a guide on it. it will surely be worth at least 20$ psn credit.
If people aren’t getting the joke, it’s exactly the same as syncing a DS3 to a PS3. Which is super easy
Yeah it doesn’t seem right. For just a basic tutorial that doesn’t even explain what the purpose of it is, this probably doesn’t deserve to be on the front Page. Let alone win $10
Are only PSOne games supporting a second controller? I suppose so as the Vita normally doesn’t support a second controller.
It would be great if a game like Dragons Crown, which supports couch coop in the PS3 version, would do the same on PS TV, despite of actually being a handheld game.
I didn’t know they also made flesh-colored controllers.
