Release: Total Noob’s TN-V9 eCFW
We told you that it was coming, and now it is here! TN-V9 has been released.
A reminder, TN-V is an eCFW option for PS Vita users who would like to be able to run homebrews and PSP ISO/CSO on their PS Vita. TN-V is currently supported on firmwares 3.01 and below. Other eCFW options, such as ARK are out there, but ARK is not supported on firmwares above 2.02 (as of yet 🙂 ). To be able to run TN-V, you need to have one of the many exploited PSP exploit games listed below.
This new version of Total-Noob’s eCFW adds, fixes, and removes a few features to the PS Vita PSP emulation arsenal. Let’s check them out:
- Added: 12MB of additional memory unlocked for all firmwares for use internally
- Added: PS1 sound emulation via Pete’s PEOPS SPU plugin
- Added: Configuration option for the PEOPS plugin, accessible through the recovery menu
- Added: Ability to view Vita firmware in “System Information”
- Added & Fixed: A few internal things
- Removed: The in-XMB FTP feature was removed because of bugginess i.e. messing up internet radio compatibility. A better FTP option will be added in a later eCFW revision.
There are some PS1 games tested on TN-V for sound. Some work fine, others have choppy sound, white noise, or lock-ups. Our community is maintaining a PS1 sound compatibility list here. You can also check an alternate list on hackinformer.

total_noob did not leave the scene for respect. He left the scene because some very big personal issue happened to him a few months ago. I usually tend to agree that “attention whores” are bad, but this is not what happened this time, as far as I know.
I understand but he can’t keep leaving the scene and coming back,ok he can have a personal issue once but not each time and sometimes not publish his work(psp days)

i never used his work,i have tried it but neuron and PRO are better at cfws and they dont “leave” the scene for attention every few days

I also have a lot of time-consuming problems but I never say I leave completely, I just say I’m gonna be away for some time. And nobody can really deny that he loves attention, that “[Poll] should I release a new kxploit?” thread was pathetic, it’s like asking a homeless if he wants a house.

i don´t care if he says he leaves or not, if he had a reason that he probably won´t come back, its better to let us know, otherwise everybody cries why nothing is coming anymore.. regarding his work he is one of the few who deliever what he promises and for that i´m truely grateful 😮 thank you so much tn and keep up the good work 🙂 i bet everybody would be *** when he really disappears one day without saying any word, and i think its better this way to say goodbye and keep coming back and suprise us once more 🙂

Not possible without a kxploit. Wistines will be another user mode exploit meaning VHBL only.

I’ve got a question that I hope someone can help me with. I’ve got TN-B and the Mad Blocker exploit, and I’m on 1.81 and I’m using http://ftp.. Do I have to start the update from scratch? Or really, I’m asking for some kind person to tell me how to install TN-V 9. Thanks in advance.
ftp not “http://ftp”. that was a typo
you can ftp the files directly to your TN-V savedata folder, and overwrite the previous one, then restart the exploit. This is what I did to update to tnv8 last time.
Keep in mind that there is some risk, if you mess up these files, the exploit won’t start, so you’ll hjave to go through openCMA again

when they release the game back into the market is it still able to be hacked because the vita is updated past the exploit or is the game patched then released back into the psn store
I was at a hotel and house keeping jacked my ps vita that had 101 megamix with TN-V8 so I can no longer put a hack on a new vita. I foundone at the pawnshop on firmware 3.01 and I have my game backed up to my pc. I there a way to use my memory card in a different vita on 3.01(activate without signing in) Please let me kno if there is a loop hole that can get me back on my TN-V8 with a different vita on 3.01 because if not I just might have to sell it bacasue I don’t wanna sign in to activate my system to use my backup from my memcard/pc

Still, updating via the in-XMB updater is getting scary these days. Like V8 before it, after it seems to successfully install with no problems, and tries to reboot, my exploit game (101) freezes and then I have to force-restart my Vita. Is anyone else having the same problem?
Same problem on 3.01/Persona. After updating via internet (from TN-V8) I had error message and after that vita wasn’t responding. But after force-restart all works perfect. Now on TN-V9 I can play DOOM 1-2 without freeezes/error messages/restarting!!

Sorry if this question is obvious. I haven’t touched my vita in about a year and haven’t gotten any exploits on it or anything. It is currently on firmware 2.12. Do I get this just by buying one of the exploited games, or is it too late. Sorry, I’m very new to this whole thing
…man, that got me. I’ve deleted the Vita FTP because of the FTP built-in funcionality in the last version, and now I don’t have another way to install it back. I can only hope TN brings it back to his eCFW…>.<

If you have PSPfiler on your vita (Or any file manager that can unzip (or unrar, can’t remember well) try downloading VitaFTP from Smoke’s thread (google: TN-V Homebrews + Plugins + Themes Thread from XMB)
…that’s what I was thinking about. Maybe I could download it directly from the PSP. I’ll give it a try and post the results, for the case someone is unlucky as me. 8D

…I can’t say for sure, Wololo. I tried with the openCMA before, with no luck since the 3.10 update. But I’ve seen people who can use it. I’ll try to delete and re-download it to see if it will work.
Enable Airplane mode on your Vita (or disable every internet connection) and then restart before using openCMA, that’s what I used to do (and it’s necessary to do) when I had TN-V on 3.01 (I don’t have it now since I updated… sadly :c)
I don’t know if it’s because of those 12 extra mb, but now Super Mario 64 runs more fluid :O

…cara, o OpenCMA não está mais funcionando atualmente (ao menos comigo e com outras pessoas que conheço). O jeito é transferir via FTP para o seu Vita, amigo.
No caso SOUL em “/PSP/GAME/SOUL/EBOOT.PBP”.

I was pretty stoked for this, but, losing the FTP feature, and the fact that most PSOne games run with lag or glitches, if at all, is enough for me to hold off at this time.
I have two Vitas, though, and my eCFW’d one has just been gathering dust.

of…I wish there`s a salvation for us all soon…I wish there was a simple hacking method as in PSP,or just some kind of custom cracked OS for tthe Vita,whisch doesent need exploits….I hope somebod creates something soon…I payed like 200 euros for that thing,and some of the games in the psp store cost like 1/4 of the price of the console…I mean come on…yeah those games cost lots of hours ,inspiration and money to the developers,but thats insane…So you have to be higher than the average class rich person to be able to play to cool games.There`re few demos and apps that are the same from months in EU,and that console has so much potential.So…basicly if Sony wants to make profit and avoid buyers t hack their consoles,they should develop more apps and games at more afordable prices,plus the psp store shoul be something like Google play store etc.I knw they`re making some progress in that,and hope they do it fast,because I think I speak from the name of a lot of people,I am starting to regret buying this console.

Yes I can’t go back to XMB anymore.. I have to close the whole PSPEMU to the live area. This needs fix.
