Best PSP/Vita homebrews for May 2014
Every month we publish a list of the best Vita and PSP homebrews as voted by our community over the previous month. You can add your own homebrews to our /downloads Database, and vote for your favorite ones. This doesn’t require any login.
This month’s votes feature a nice balance of emulators, utilities, and homebrew games:
10. Wagic, The Homebrew
Often compared to commercial games for its replay value and quality, Wagic is a heroic fantasy card game, in which you fight as a wizard against the computer. As you win battles, you unlock new game modes and earn credits that allow you to improve your army. Wagic is community driven, entirely customizable (you can create themes, mods, even new rules), available in several languages (English, French, German, spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Serbian), and open source. It currently runs on the Sony PSP, Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, and N900 (maemo).
9. 6.60 ME
Neur0n’s ME CFW was recently updated to support more features on firmware 6.20 (see here), although people on firmware 6.60 will want to download the 6.60 ME Below
8. Alice in: Pasta Crocket
If you know the PC game Minecraft, you will feel at ease with this genesis entry which reuses the same concept: allowing grownups to play with blocks like little kids. LameCraft is for now just a sandbox that allows you to build a 3D world to your liking.
Lamecraft itself hasn’t been updated in a while, but it generated a massive community and we are seeing some great activity from some of its unofficial mods. Check the latest version of Minecraft PSP – [LC Mod]!
– X/O : Run homebrews / Install Archive (to install archives, just copy them inside any savedata save folder, you can name it as you like and put as many as wanted in a save, then just click on the archive once inside the save from the menu : you don’t need to name archives install anymore at all, just copy paste them directly)
– Square : Delete something
XMB-like menu, with horizontal sliding instead of vertical like the regular xmb
Supported fonts : supports eboot titles with japanese fonts or european fonts, and utf-8 in general
Supports rar/zip formats
rar up to “normal” compression supported (“Good” & “Optimal” compressions don’t work, only Store/Very fast/Fast/Normal ones)
All zip compressions supported
EBOOT.PBP contained files to extract will be renamed into wmenu.bin
A nice eBook reader.
3. Ubuntu 12 PSP Shell
2. Cosmos Lunar
Play as a cosmonaut who separated from his space station, trying to survive somehow in the space for him, but the space is not zero and that moon rock do not facilitate life. Do not forget to fill oxygen if you do not want to be the lack fatal.
