Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? A /Talk Poll worth attention, iDroid Iphone case from Konami, and 3d Pokemon!
Aside from the usual rubble I usually post on here, I thought I’d mention a Pokemon fan game we’ve all been waiting for, and something ia couple more games for our Vita!
But! Like always, The Vita games come first.
- Aztez – Also on PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and PC
- Jet Car Stunts – Also on PS3, PS4
- Z-Run
I’m sure you all remember the game Vita Pets that I spoke about in a weekly blog back in August, well it’s finally got a release date of 4th June, the announcement on the PlayStation blog also listed a few more details, have a gander here:
http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/04/02/playstation-vita-pets-release-date-new-gameplay-details/
Speaking of the PlayStation blog, they have added plenty new features to their commenting system, including replies, kudos system,a larger text limit (from 1,250 to 2,500), for users of the PS Blog they will know how brilliant this is (for those who don’t, you think this section is silly 🙂 )
Okay, to make up to those who think this is silly, here’s a new trailer for PS4 game SOMA, from the creators of the game Amnesia.
If you just watch the trailer, besides from looking fantastic it seems pretty pointless. So here’s a quote from the PS Blog which seems to explain it:
That’s right, our next game will be set deep below the water’s surface – at the bottom of the sea.
Here’s a fact, 77% of our earth is on the edge of the ocean, I have no idea why I remember this pointless bit of information from my geography lesson, but I’m like that!
Most of our earth is covered in ocean, and yet it’s something that we know very little about. It is an incredibly hostile environment filled with strange creatures, and it is right on our door step.
Most of the ocean is devoid of sunlight and inhospitable to us. The differences in pressure between the surface and even a modest depth of 100 meters is enough to turn a human into mush. That pressure, that depth, is nothing compared to the true ocean deeps. And as if this isn’t enough, the creatures living there seem like they’re from another world. Gigantic squid, luminescent fish and creatures that are all mouths and teeth are only the start. If you dive down any distance you enter into a realm of monsters.
This game is shaping up to be something special, and let’s hope the story delivers with such an awesome setting!
There was plenty on the PS Blog to mention in this weeks news, something else is that an inFamous second son update has been announced which adds a lot of requested features like:
- 30FPS frame lock option
- You can change the time of day after beating the game
- Turn HUD off
- Various bug fixes
He also gives us a time frame as to when the update will go live:
We’re all working hard to release these updates as soon as we can. Time wise, the earliest we could have the patch and new features ready is in about two weeks from now, so stay tuned for another update and we’ll let you all know as soon as they’re ready to go live.
For those of you who decided to buy Minecraft on the PS3, there has been some new skin packs announced for it, in the form of PlayStation icons.
They come in 3 packs, and include characters from Uncharted, Heavy Rain and also Sly Cooper
Here’s the Uncharted and Heavy Rain pack:
So let’s talk about /talk, one of our resident moderators and testers SMOKE has put up a poll and bribed me to mention it this week. He’d like a few more votes on his poll as to whether he should delete his results from his VHBL tests if a kernel exploit is released for the same game he has tested the VHBL under, my personal opinion? No. It’s something that is a pretty awesome reference and still provides download ready save files to insert into your exploit.
Here’s the poll, it only takes 3 clicks, click on the link, choose yes or no, press submit. Done.
https://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=37612&view=viewpoll
The results at the moment are 4 yes to 7 no, I expect the results to shoot up now!
Go my wololoers! 🙂
Next in the news comes in the form of an April Fools joke.
The Frostbite team at EA made a few jokes about the Wii U through twitter, and after making the news that it was supposedly out of order, they were deleted.
Here’s the tweets:
Frostbite now runs on the #WiiU since it is the most powerful Gen4 platform, our renderer is now optimized for Mario and Zelda.
Frostbite will power #HalfLife3, coming out summer 2014! #WiiU exclusive.
Good news, we have finally fixed and optimized our ‘netcode’. Uses quantum entanglement for Zero Latency connections. Exclusively on #WiiU.
In all honesty, if I knew what ‘quantum entanglement’ was, I’d probably be annoyed, but I really don’t see what’s wrong with it. At the end of the day it’s a joke, and the only reason they were seen as out of order and nasty was because it’s EA, and everyone should be aboard the EA hatetrain.
It’s funny, it’s a joke, it’s April fools.
After this made the news as being naughty, EA even put out an apology on behalf of Frostbite:
Our apologies to partners @NintendoAmerica & fan @FrostbiteEngine ’s poor attempt at April Fools not condoned by EA : unacceptable/ stupid

You know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun, We know that I’ve been blogging for a year, which I mentioned a month ago, but in a few weeks I will have been writing the weekly summary for a year, too.
Surprising, right? I had no idea I started this time last year with the summary!
For those of you who are interested, here it is:

I haven’t had a 60+ comment article in a while…..
Next up we’ve got news on MGS V. Hideo Kojima has showed off the iPhone case in the style of the IDroid in the game, seen in this video below 1 minute in:
as cool as this is, I wouldn’t want to be seen with it, imagine having to explain it to everyone you know.
‘well there’s this game…’
Next up is something that I’m really excited about. and I’m sure everyone has been wanting a game like this, it’s pokemon but in third person 3d mode, it’s in it’s early alpha stage so you can only walk around and fight 2 different animals with your 3 starter pokemon. But it’s got extreme potential and let’s hope Nintendo don’t go crazy and force it to be destroyed. being as it’s the game is called Pokemon NXT
If you want to give the ‘game’ a try yourself, head here to wander around:

The soundtrack is also a remastered version of the original ‘I want to be the very best’. I currently have the tab open now just to listen to it!
Weekly blog round-up
- Proxies and Bypasses fixed – Firmware 3.01 can not access the PSN services anymore!
- April tutorial contest begins now! March winners announced! $60 PSN to win!
- $1000 in PSN Codes to win in Wololo’s 2014 Giant Easter Egg Hunt. Round 2!
- PS Vita Half Byte Loader for Firmware 3.10 & 3.12 available !
The iDroid case seem pretty cool, although anything pokemon always has me hype, I wish Nintendo would take full advantage of WiiU hardware and make a full fledge modern pokemon game 🙂
“Pokemon NXT” for Wii U would be awesome…
I really look forward to SOMA, these guys have made a god job in the past.
Pokemon NXT looks awesome. I assume they still have to work on this project for 10 years in order to finish it, if Nintendo doesn’t cancel it before.
Good luck with your 60+ comment-post 😀
Should be worth mentioning that the song is by ForOrchestra.

Whom also has many other songs (and they’re all pretty damn good)
that pokemon.. third person mode, 3ds can’t handle it..
what a lame handheld..
you’d be surprised, i think it could.. Have you seen monster hunter 3 ultimate/4?
that monster hunter just noob and crappy graphic on 3ds..
you can play more kitty games on 3ds.. go play it…
even batman arkam city looks stupid on 3ds.. what a joke..
don’t forget spiderman game.. looks very crappy graphic..
3ds hardware is a joke..
what about …
i like my alarm clock radio video player device …
why cant somebody hack a mobile iphone win8 phone or android
and make me a howto into building another alarmclockradio that plays video :p
The reason the Wii U jokes were considered mean was because EA had made it quite clear that they have a low opinion of the Wii U. I read a story somewhere that when asked if the Frostbite engine was going to be ported to the Wii U, the devs actually laughed as if such a thought was ridiculous.
The 3d pokemon is a rip off of Pokemon Generations for the pc.
Quantum Entanglement is from sci fi. Basically, it’s instant communication from anywhere in the universe to anywhere else in the universe. Split an atom (or link two atoms together?) in such a way that the two parts resonate in the same way at the same time, no matter how far they are from each other.
Mass Effect 2 is a good example in gaming, the Normandy SR2’s comm room is quantum entangled with The Illusive Man’s room on his fancy space station.
Comment.
hows it going minimur?
There was a 3D PC Pokémon game like this about 15 or so years ago. Sure it was barely functioning and if a Pokémon popped out you had to chase it down. Controls were really bad and it never amounted to anything other than a bad demo.
