Get The Best Out of TN-V: XMB Mods

As you probably know, there are some features on TN-V that are non-functional. Thanks to the scene, some really great XMB mods have been created to replace these features with functional ones. With this tutorial you will be able to mod three things in your XMB to get even more out of TN-V.

The three mods that we will be installing are the SensMe-to-LightMP3 Mod, the DC-to-Bookr Mod, and the USB-to-FTP Mod. I’m assuming that I don’t need to say what gets changed to what as the names are self explanatory. Let’s get started.

Senseme-to-lightmp3 mod

For this mod there will be two options for installation.

Option 1 (computer necessary): First, you will need WinRAR. Then, download the SensMe-to-LightMP3 Mod file from SMOKE’s TN-V Homebrew Thread (you will find it under XMB Mods) and put the P_LIMP3.ZIP file into your game’s savedata folder. Copy savedata to PS Vita using CMA. Enter into the recovery menu (hold R during load or select while in XMB) and install via Plugins -> Plugin Installer -> P_LIMP3.ZIP. When back in the XMB, you should see that the SenseMe program should be replaced with the LightMP3 program. *Note TN-V5+ needed.

Option 2 (no computer necessary for installation): In TN-V do an internet search for “tn official homebrew thread” and scroll down to XMB Mods (you will have to click next page several times). Download the SensMe-to-LightMP3 Mod to /PSP/COMMON. Follow the Plugins part of this (on your computer) tutorial.

DC-to-bookr mod and usb-to ftp MOD

Both of these mods come in one package or you can get the USB-to-FTP mod by itself. Again there will be two options for installation.

Option 1 (computer necessary): First, you will need WinRAR if plan on only installing the USB-to-FTP mod. If you plan on installing both mods and your computer does not support .7z files, you will need 7-Zip. Now, download the USB-to-FTP mod file here or the USB-to-FTP and DC-to-Bookr here (scroll down to where it says Download) depending on what you want. Put the INSTALL.ZIP file into your game’s savedata folder. Copy savedata to PS Vita using CMA. Go to Game -> Memory Stick and press triangle on the game and select install. Leave Game and open something else. Go back to Game and run the app. Follow the prompts to install your desired programs. When back in the XMB, you should see that the DC and/or USB programs should be replaced with the Bookr and/or FTP programs.

Option 2 (no computer necessary for installation): In TN-V do an internet search for this post. Do not go to wololo.net and navigate here. IT WILL NOT WORK. Go directly here. Click this link (on your vita) for only USB-to-FTP or this link (on your vita) for USB-to-FTP and DC-to-Bookr. Save to /PSP/COMMON. Follow the homebrew part of this (on your computer) tutorial. *Note when using the homebrew tutorial, when it says .rar, it is refrencing to your .7z file.

Thanks to fate6 for the SensMe-to-LightMP3 mod, Freakler for the USB-to-FTP mod, and lupus for the DC-to-Bookr mod. That’s all for now folks, from me, The Jay Doctor.

Indeed it does work and yes it looks pretty but LightMP3 lets you play far more audio formats and has more features than SensME and the default player combined

I like Sensme because of its channels etc. I can still access Light MP3 normally anyway.

If you guys want more XMB mods you should try XMB Icon Manager plugin by TN. It allows you to mod lots of items to whatever homebrew you want to launch. Doesn’t mod any icons though but very cool to add some functions to unused items on the XMB.

I personally couldn’t care less about the XMB; I have first to load Megamix, than boot into XMB than go to game then to MemoryStick than scroll to the desired homebrew/cso and then i can start. If they just release TN-C or VHBL for the 3.01 exploits I would be much happier, because I don’t use the PSP PSN store; why the hell should I buy PSP games if I can buy much better Vita games and using an outdated horrible psp mobile web browser? hell no!

Oh wow I Didn’t realise it did not have a fast forward option
LightMP3 is opensource so it could be added but I lack the knowledge to do so. Sorry
