Upcoming: 8 Days of Gaming and 10 Days of Hacking
Due to the popularity of my 7 Days of Metal Gear, I decided to make two more of these features: 8 Days of Gaming and 10 Days of Hacking.
The first one I will be doing will be the 8 Days of Gaming, a series of articles where I will review all 8 console generations we’ve had so far, starting from the release of the Magnavox Odyssey and ending with the release of the PS4 and Xbox One. Just like the Metal Gear series, the last day will not be a review in itself as the 8th gen has just begun, but I will rather give my opinion on it.
The other series of articles I will do will be 10 Days of Hacking, where I will review what I consider the 10 best console hacks to date, from oldest to newest. The consoles involved in such hacks will not be disclosed until the articles are actually published and I already have some console hacks in mind, but I will let you guys voice your opinion on which console or hack you’d like to see in the comments below, I may or may not end up talking about it.
The goals of these two series of articles is to showcase which are the most influential consoles that forever changed gaming and to explain some c
10 best hack? hmm geohotz, dark_alex & total_noob is on the list i’m sure 😀 here’s looking forward to a very good year
hmm I think he’s referring to 10 actual hacks, not hackers.
But I wonder if those will be chosen based on the final product usefulness, the cleverly involved on getting it to work, or maybe both..
2nd!!!
Thank you thank you, 2nd is where the action is.
So first off thanks k3nn i wouldn’t of been 2nd if it wasn’t for you.
And secondly i would like to thank my laptop and my ISP, none of this would have been possible without them.
ps4 and psvita
DA’s M33 & TN’s TN-V. And the PS3 hack for PS2 games.
I enjoyed the Metal Gear articles, looking foward to these Acid!
Wooow can’t wait :D. I will choose TN V for ps vita as the best hack.
All of you asking for TN-V, let me make it clear: I do not care about the product of a hack, I care about the cleverness of the hack or the stupidity of the console maker that allowed such hack. For all I know, TN-V itself is the product of a hack, not a hack itself. I could care less if the hack produces nothing at all, if it’s clever, or if it was a stupid as heck move from the console-maker, then I’m gonna talk about it. The main problem with TN-V is its closeness: while I can review TN-V as the product of a hack, I cannot certify that such hack was clever at all, specially with something like TN-V that probably requires many hacks to get working, and most of them are probably standard hacks when it comes to PSP hacking. Again, TN-V as a product is awesome, but I simply don’t know *** about how TN got it working to make a proper blog post, and quite frankly, TN’s work is still just a rework of what Dark_Alex did, doesn’t matter if he has rewritten the code from scratch, the ideas and documentation were already created, from scratch, by Dark_Alex, and even so I’m not gonna talk about Dark_Alex, cause there has been hacks before him that were either clever or a stupid mistake.
This seems to be one big insult to TN. Why don’t you write your own custom firmware or release your own of what is probably the closest thing we have to a real vita hack?
It’s not an insult, just honesty. Trust me, I feel like Total_Noob is Santa for bringing us presents but the elves made them, not Santa.
@Acid_Snake..I look forward to reading said articles.
Happy New Year gamerz!!
You have no f*cking idea what you are saying. I chat with TN a lot and greatly respect him as a dev, but even TN himself has expressed that all of his great work was possible thanks to Dark_Alex, and even DAX’s work was possible due to clever hacks and dumb mistakes that all combined allowed him to dig into the PSP software and hardware, and those are the hacks I will talk about: the hacks made by devs before DAX and mistakes made by Sony that ALLOWED the PSP scene to even exist.
If I may, as one who has produced a small quantity of stuff for the PS3. I didn’t read this as a insult to TN at all. Simply a statement of why TN-V as a product wasn’t a HACK in itself.
If I may, by that very logic (IMHO) the RSODfix tool and other things I released shouldn’t be considered.
hehehe, unsig tool excluded. that was a STUPID move on sony’s part simply shifting standard ascii 4 bits as encryption. Yet… no one ever did anything with it. 🙁
pandora battery, letter bomb, and free mcboot all of these deserves to be at that top 10 imo but only acid knows for sure 🙂
Hack nomination….
Haven’t checked it out yet, but Qwikrazor’s PspAdhoc looks awesome..play adhoc games over the net, makes psp think you’re in the same room with other player(s).
Same as Prometheus Online?
What? Where can you find this?
The Old Console King, PS2.. Many years has passed but still difficult to be emulated..
Free MC Boot was both a clever hack and a stupid mistake, so expect to see it.
Looking forward to this one 🙂 FMCB made a lot of people I know quite happy.
I also used a lot of emulators and did quite some free FMCB installs via post service. Asking money for free hacks like that is a scam 😉
a lifetime of hacks101
buy ur new hackplayer … aka ps4
would u ? or saving for something else ?
I like your articles.
You should review the Sega Dreamcast.
when is this 101 gonna take place ?
i hope u review proxies and spoofing
and maybe more online hacks
and maybe a couple of gamesave exploits
and psp remastersys
and ps2 remastersys vs isomode
and psx exploits on nextgen consoles ofc 🙂
Haha Acid_Snake. Your missing something with 9.
I would include the NeoGeoX hack in the list. I’ve got some tutorials coming up that explain a lot behind it.
