Missed the Ninja Release? don’t worry, we have another one for you.
One of the main problems with this Ninja Release was the fact that it was not available in Australia nor New Zealand, and knowing how difficult it is to make an account in another territory, we decided to make a Ninja Release for these users. But that’s not all! The next exploitable game is also available in the US and some parts of EU, so if you missed 100-in-1 Megamix, then you have another chance!
Now comes the mandatory FAQ.
When will this Ninja Release start? and when will it end?
As usual, we cannot share exact details on this, but we plan to make it happen as soon as possible.
How much does the game cost?
I know you wanna be prepared for the game, but I can’t disclose the price, so I’ll tell you what I tell to everyone that asks this question: keep in your PSN wallet the maximum amount of money you are willing to spend for this release.

Do you fear Sony will patch the game before the public announcement?
There’s always that possibility, but if we were intimidated by it then we wouldn’t do any Ninja Release at all.
Who is behind this release? Who should I thank?
Well, the guy who found the game is Ice (aka Kankertje), the coordinators are me and wololo, and last but not least, TN is the one who found the kernel exploit and created TN-V4.

Well, now that I think of it, there is even a PS1 emulator homebrew, which plays PS1 .ISOs, so yes, it plays PS1 ISOs.

Nice!!! i will try to let those who miss this one know about this.I think there were 2 or 3 guys:I have an error,i manage to make it work searching on internet about C1-2858-3 or what ever that number was,but now i have a problem,i had emulators zipped since Arcade Darts but when i enter it says Corrupted Data.

I know nothing about the new ninja release, but I’d imagine that you want $20 in your PSN wallet because, likely, the less expensive game was released first.
It could also be the same price making the release order/cost irrelevant, but $20 is always safer than 10 in this case.
Finally, there is the option I believe to get it from amazons PSN store (I believe they do PSP games too).
So whatever is left can be used as amazon credit if you buy an amazon card instead of PSN.
Also, amazon sells e-codes of PSN cards, so you can do that quickly.
Just some thoughts
A pro I’ll give to the PSVita is how the PSP Emulation brings “emulation” to a whole new level;
the 2nd stick is what completes a large handful of games for the PSP, making them insanely more playable (MH to the top of my head, which suffered from bad camera and bad camera controls);
the touchscreen being mappable for whatever button you wish (up to 4 buttons), making Start and Select more accessible (another benefit for MH; the Start and Select button look smaller and not as easy to press on the PSVita);
I know this ain’t news, but all this makes whatever can emulate a PSP on the Vita easily completely worth it. A built in (literally) PSP within the PS Vita looks even better.
I’m on 2.61. and I need someone’s good advice..should I try waiting for this ninja release and update the firmware or keep trying with charles and skfu proxy so that I can download fieldrunners? US PSN account here. thanks.

I second that, its always better to be on the highest firmware you possibly can. Bug fixes and security holes fixes are normally released with each update. so If the there is an exploitable game on a higher FW, do it!
Do you have access to a PS3? If so, then you *might* want to wait, but only if you aren’t sure you’ll be quick enough to catch the ninja release.
(but a PS3 would let you get the ninja release game after some future firmware update and the game being returned to the store, so at worst you’d be on a higher firmware and have a wait of an extra week or two)
So there are largely benefits to upgrading (from 2.61, since it and 3.01 both lack the high memory feature of 2.1x), but you’ll need to be quick about getting the game. I would assume you have a PS3 since you considered sticking to 2.61, though, so the very worst that could happen if you upgrade is that you’ll have to wait a little while longer for the exploit game if you miss both the ninja and public releases.

This is every game the PSP can emulate, plus every PSP game (including the ones that aren’t available in your region or digitally). GTA V could be the best games ever and still couldn’t beat that. Heck, I’d say GTA V would compare poorly to the library of even one PSP emulator, for example the SNES, Genesis, CPS, or MVS. (though for CPS and MVS you kind of have to like fighters and shooters, considering their smaller libraries relative to home consoles)
Also GTA V will be around for a long time, whereas this is a limited time offer. (although having a PS3 and OpenCMA will probably still allow you to get this exploit in the future when it is returned to the store, if you don’t upgrade)

I really wish they could keep this next exploit for another higher firmware version before releasing it though. Just feeling that its quite a waste to release it so soon and waste another good exploit…
There will almost surely be future exploits for VHBL. We don’t know when the next kernel exploit will be found, or if there are enough fully functional ones to justify another release anytime in the future.
Now obviously there may be a different kind of Vita hack at some point, but it makes sense to get TN-V4 to as many people as possible. This is all the more true now that Sony has started “accidentally” patching user mode PSP vulnerabilities, since that means any given PSP exploit may be made useless without warning in some future Vita FW update.
actually Total_N00b already owns 3 kernel exploits and he shared one for us. So it means that even if there will be a firmware update, TN still has an access for his 2 remaining kexploits but he has the right whether he will keep it to himself or rather release it publicly after a year or so.

Megamix is a bit larger than I’d like. It would be fantastic if this was a small game, although that’s a bit much to hope for. (and may not be worth it if it takes much longer to load the exploit)
I missed grabbing the US game :((( hopefully the next announcement isn’t until after new years since most people will be away from home during the holidays. Keep up the good work devs. I miss playing emus on my vita. All i can say is Sony sux for pulling the games 😛
I would expect it to be sooner than that, since otherwise you won’t be able to use it with TN-V4 without a PS3 to transfer the game. (you’d have to upgrade, and the kxploit will probably be patched by 3.02+)
Damn I’m missing all the action. Putting off buying a vita coz of my exams and hoping for an international release of the pch 2000. Hope a kernel exploit if found again once that is launched.
Anyway still got my good ol PSP, But needs some maintenance. The buttons aren’t as responsive, the analog stick is getting faulty and battery life is barely 2h. Anyway some Chinese website sells the parts at under 15$ :/
One great thing about the PSP is that it is durable, and much easier to replace. (especially if you have something semi-irreplaceable like a kxploit)
But, unless there is some international price difference I’m unaware of, I’m pretty sure the first model Vita is a MUCH better deal. The screen seems far better. Although if you’re into replacing parts, I’m certain the Vita 2000 screen will be easier to replace and MUCH easier to find in the future. (and less expensive as a part, too)
There actually is a huge price difference in vita price in my country (India) . Before the price drop, the Wi-Fi + 3g model was selling at ~400$ here, that was a ridiculous price to buy it at. Now it’s around 275$, fairly reasonable and the only way to get it cheaper is getting a friend to buy one for me from the US and bringing it here as a gift (buying one from Amazon US comes to the same price after import duty )
Anywho, thanks for the info about the original model being better. I was considering the slim vita mostly because of the extended battery life, sacrificing display quality for 1 hour of battery life seems alright, especially since most sites say the difference is barely noticeable unless You are holding them next to each other. I guess I’ll wait and buy whatever is selling in January next year. 🙂

I have already installed TN-V4 but was having problems getting psp.cso installed. nyways, My question is…I can not get the fieldrunners game to show up on cma. Can I just redownload it from the PSN store and it will work still or is the version on the PSN store patched now and will not work? Please help me

The PSP uses eboot.pbp file format and the PS Vita uses a different format that has not, AFIAK, been cracked and therefor we are unable to convert from one format to the other.
So at this time we cannot convert games to it like we can convert PSX games to the PSP.
I hope the next release is a better title 😛
If this next ninja happens to be a small file, much like the Fieldrunners game, I will upgrade fast and grab it. Otherwise I’m hanging on 2.61 for the time being.

Apparently the people who contribute to the scene are a bit more sympathetic and kind than you. Also, as you may have noticed, there were regions that weren’t able to get this last ninja release.
I’m sure you wouldn’t advocate “you don’t deserve it” if it was you who missed the exploit.

sorry to get morbid, but damn, i read wololo several times a day, and the times i don’t are the times i really should have. even tho i am in the US, my dad died and of course i was not thinking about anything else, let alone checking for THE big kernal exploit reveal. he was a gamer, too. 77 years old and loved playing Ultima IV on his c64 🙂
