That’s it. After removing the Hitman reborn game from the JP store, then the 101-in-1 megamix game from the EU stores, Sony’s North American services have removed 101-in-1 megamix from the Mexican, US, and other American stores over the past few hours.

It is still unsure when Total_Noob will actually release his files, but the excited atmosphere is palpable here and on other scene websites. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.

Total_Noob’s TN-V4 is a full fledged PSP Custom Firmware running inside the PSP emulator on the PS Vita. It will let PS Vita owners run PSP Homebrews; emulators for major retro consoles such as the GBA, NES, SNES, NeoGeo, N64, etc…; plugins; and PSP backups (raise your hand if you want to play Kingdom Heart: Birth By Sleep on your vita’s gorgeous OLED screen).

Total_Noob also packed his eCFW with a bunch of features that we listed here.

TN-V4 uses a kernel exploit in the PSP Firmware. In order to trigger that exploit, we need access to the PSP internal calls, which is done through a second exploit, usermode this time. The usermode exploit is triggered inside a game, hence the reason people have to buy and install a legit PSP game on their Vita in order to be able to run the exploit. We announced secretly the names of 101-in-1 megamix and Hitman reborn through a “ninja release“, and later on made the announce public. As expected, Sony quickly removed the game from their store, to avoid the hack from spreading too much.
