Vita Firmware 3.01 surfaces
PS Vita 3.01 has just surfaced on Sony’s servers, and already my email box is full of questions regarding TN-V4. What will be the impact of this new firmware? Is TN-V4 going to be compatible with firmware 3.01? etc…
Of course I don’t have the answers right now, the firmware was announced just a few minutes ago. But I’ll regroup with the people involved in TotalNoob’s release, and I’m sure hackers are already hard at work to test if anything got impacted on the hacking side of things.
As far as the firmware itself is concerned, no information has yet surfaced on what it does. Given that it is a minor revision, it could be some stability fixes for a specific game, or an actual security patch related to PSP hacks. There was no official announcement from Playstation about this firmware update yet, as far as I know. It is also unsure if it has been released to all countries already.
Will keep you updated as soon as we learn more, stay tuned.

Was just on psn a few minutes ago to buy a (cough) game and get some other stuff for a new memory card. Got all I wanted and went back to check my previous transactions to see if there was anything I missed and bam, update prompt. Glad I didn’t have to work late. We got a mole here?
Does anyone who knows the game want to vita party me to discuss this becuase I’ve been waiting for this for years and now I’m ready. Not a mole just a guy with a love for psp and vita software. MESSEGE or add me @onecloudgaming and we can talk
I think this has to do with the PSN maintenance, this one was going to increase the total number of allowed portables to 3, maybe they had to change something in the PSV’s firmware to work with that
damn fast update from sony.

@Pspjunkie I had the exact same experience, if it was a mole that’s the quickest I ve seen Sony work. Unless they had the patch ready to go and we’re waiting, probably just a coincidence.
The Z is saying its patching stuff via twitter…. watch out..
It patched the zett’s private stuff. Nothing related to tn-v4 or the ninja release exploit.

who cares, i prefer PSN access to Homebrew these days, i got android so i can make any app i want.
Who cares if you have android. With the vita as it is right now. Is useless. Unless you have killzone or something like that. But heck no. I’ll stick to my snes games. Always. Better than that crappy *** of resistance or modnation, the only games i really play: when vikings attack and all-star battleroyale. Beyond that. Everything sucks

How are we suppose to download the exploited game if we can’t go on PSN? This is what happens when you take forever to release things!
3.01 does not patch the ninja exploit game. Stay cool!

how can you tell if when you go to update your vita if it’s 3.00 or 3.01? sony site says 3.00 but im scared to update and it goes to 3.01 without telling me before hand
You will update to 3.01, Go to settings and update and it will say new version is available 3.01
Well unless you have a previous exploit there is nothing to lose. The game could get pulled next.
And here I was all excited to just update though wifi directly to 3.00 🙁 now I have to manually update to 3.00 and although there’s a guide I find it difficult
It patches the second usermode exploit, better release the ninja game exploit asap rather than waste it then to follow the TN-V4

I wish there was an easy way to update to 3.00
2.12 is much better, and 2.61 may be better. PS4 connectivity lasts for as long as the new exploit isn’t patched, and the Z says it still works. So 3.00 probably isn’t any better than 3.01, other than the first day or two where you can use your PS4.
My mistake. 3.00 and 3.01 are likely mostly the same, and no better than “3.02” or whatever firmware is released to patch the new exploit. Only 2.10 to 2.12 are “better,” while 2.61 and below have more available exploits than 3.00. (which presumably will have one per region at best, until someone releases a new 3.xx exploit in a couple months)

Well, at least it fixes the invite bug in BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND. (on 3.00, if you attempted to send an invite to another player in the game, it would crash.)
So,if we update our vita’s to 3.01 the exploit will not work? what a *** waste of time TN,i was waiting for this about 2 months and now i discover this.

Just do like I did and download the 3.00 OFW files manually in case it doesn’t work with 3.01

TN really dodged a bullet by not yet releasing his exploit. He really ought to release it soon in case it gets patched in 03.020.000. which wouldn’t surprise me. I believe it will just be a matter of time before it gets patched because The Z has access to it. The Z never hides his mac address so Sony would easily be able to view the account tied to his Vita and view his purchase history.
Can you still use Charles (I’m on 3.00) to access the PSN store? If so, can someone link me to a tutorial or something along those lines?

The PSN going off line was planned maintenance – as indicated elsewhere no big deal. Again as indicated the number of portable devices as been increased due to Vita TV portable;) launch.
I Doubt that ps vita tv should be called “portable device” as it requires a tv to work.
well, I don’t think they may cal it an ‘vita’… cuz the Vita is an handheld device… not an device connected to the television… I think PlayStation should give it an difirent name…
Its now possible to use 3 psvitas with the same account. Thats what the update does.
