PSVITA OFW 3.00 Coming Tomorrow with “Big Surprises”
According to the official Facebook page of PlayStation Turkey, firmware 3.00 will be coming to the Vita tomorrow.
With the planned roll out of the new firmware tomorrow, there is no word yet as to what changes may be incorporated in the new firmware. It’s probably obvious already that this is probably the long rumored PS4 update that will bring remote play features and other implementations for the PS4’s launch. The Facebook page does say that there are big surprises in store for OFW 3.00 so maybe it will have more than just the typical “security and stability improvements” we see all the time.
What won’t be a surprise, however, is that the update will probably block the latest VHBL release on firmware 2.61 using Jikkyu Powerful Pro Yakyu 2012 Ketteiban (which was only available in the JP PSN). Updating most likely means you will no longer have access to said exploit.
With that being said if you do plan on getting TN-V 4 whether or not you have an exploit already; I’d highly recommend to not update right away when the update rolls out later tomorrow so that the new firmware can be analyzed to make sure nothing big or substantial changes. Considering that there is no possible way currently to downgrade a Vita, it’s better to wait. But you may want to go ahead and prepare your PSN wallets with your funds so that you are prepared for the upcoming release!

The only thing, though, about the suggestion to not update, is if you only have a Vita, and no PS3, there is no way to purchase the game on a lower firmware when it’s released. Unless of course, you are working some sort of proxy.
Wondering the same thing, I’m still currently on 2.12 and was hoping to keep that FW for the extra ram but I myself have no PS3, so I’m not sure if there is a way around this or if I just have to bite the bullet and upgrade to whatever the FW is at that time tnv is released.
Its just a safety precaution for those who happen to already have an exploit that are thinking of updating to 3.00. If you are already on 2.12 TN-V4 should be ported to the Gamocracy exploit released on that firmware. If you dont have that you’ll have to update.

I don’t have any VHBL or anything like that, but as long as I stay on version 2.61 and have money to purchase the game when it’s announced I can perform the exploit right guys?
You’ll eventually have to do the update to 3.00 or whatever the latest firmware is when TN-V4 is released.
Oh I see, Yeah I guess I’d have to actually update if I want to be able to even access the PSN store to get the game haha… And isn’t there supposed to be some update on Nov 15 as well unless it’s moved to tomorrow now? I hope the game isn’t over $20 >.<..

the fw 3.00 is mandatory to access PSN.
There is a way to downgrade a vita just not public yet. Just ask math he downgraded his 🙂

There is not a way to downgrade. Math did not succeed. He ended up bricking two Vita’s trying. There is currently NO way to downgrade publicly or privately.

While I’m giddy as a *** schoolgirl about this, I don’t expect that TN will release his exploit immediately after this is released people. For one, we -all- know how bad sony is with full numbers. This will likely be a ‘new features’ update, with a later-coming ‘fixes new feature stability’ update. I can only assume TN has the wisdom to wait rather than jumping the gun. After all, the PS4 isn’t even out yet, so we don’t know if this will work right with it or not.
On a more worried note, this -is- a full number. It’s always possible that sony gets sick and tired of making ‘stability update’ firmwares and this could be the one that pulls the plug on VHBL and the like, for now. I’m not saying it will, but as said by fate6 in the other post, they can patch it, they just haven’t.
Regardless of both, It’ll still be a few days before the game is even announced via ninja release, i think. After all, he’s gotta make sure it all works right and whatnot with 3.0. I’m excited as heck, but i also know we still got some waiting to do D:
It does seem like there may be new security measures against VHBL but we’re still investigating. Stay tuned.

Its already out in the US. Mandatory to get it if you wanna go on PSN.. its got a PS4 link, panorama option for the camera, “party” icon and some parental control ***.. all we need now is an exploit 🙂

I mentioned this a while back. The only way I can think of now to buy a game while on a lower firmware version is with TWO VITAS…
Get one which is on the latest firmware version , which can connect to PSN. Get the game. Then save the game to your PC using OpenCMA.
Then transfer the game to another Vita on a lower version using OpenCMA again.
Both Vitas need to be activated on the same PSN account.
Most of the newer games actually have a minimum firmware requirement.
Before Total Noob releases the exploitable game for OFW 3.00 he should tell us how much it will be so people will know whether or not to buy a $50 or $20 PSN card hmm.
not gonna help much, exchange rates and how some company’s have a habit of changing game prices. there is no way of guaranteeing the game’s price.
