I’m here to apologise for my absence, and for the last few weeks of news for you lot. Oh! And PS4/Xbox One is being released this month! 😀

 

First off, I’ll break tradition of Vita news first and apologise – this month I’ve been a bit behind due to mainly my job. I usually work the hours 5-11pm but this week as many brits know, it’s been half term (aka a break from school) So I’ve been hosting a holiday club known as ‘the biz’ (great name, right?) So I’ve been doing ‘the biz’ from 8:15 – 4:30 and straight after starting my 5-11 shift. I’ve been really worn out.

Now here’s the reason for the other weeks; Whenever there’s a party hosted at my work I am pretty much guaranteed to be working behind the bar. Obviously it is most likely on a Saturday, now my usual Saturday shift is 9:00-3:00, but if there’s a party it needs setting up, cleaning and all that stuff. So the party starts at 6:30 I’m at work from 9:00 in the morning all the way through till 1:00AM, and I’ll be back into work the next day at 9:00 AM – I’m usually shattered by the end of the weekend, and I feel really bad about missing my deadline. I’m sorry! 😛

In October I clocked up 251 hours, and my only day of not working was October 11th

Some decent announcements, I’m pretty glad The Walking Dead Season 2 made it on there because now I can debate with myself whether I am going to get it on PS3, or Vita being as I’ll be using my PS3 less and less in the next coming months.

Although, during an AMA with TellTale Games, they announced that they will be making their way to next gen consoles. Not at launch but some time in the future, this is what they said:
Hopefully, if season 2 will be on the PS4 I hope they announce it before I buy the game for Vita/PS3 being as it’d be a bit of a pain buying the season pass on my PS Vita when I could play it on the big screen without switching over to my PS3.

In other news tearaway has received a new trailer detailing the story of the game, and looks nice and peaceful 🙂 It’s good to hear of a Vita exclusive made by the first party Sony studio. I’m just hoping for that inFamous game now!

In all honesty this game hasn’t interested me too much, so I don’t plan on picking it up. I’m getting Ratchet & Clank: Nexus instead, with all this talk about a Vita version, I’ll hold off pre-ordering physical and see what happens on the digital side of things. Man I’ll be poor by the end of this month!

Sony have started up a service known as ‘Sony Rewards’ and works similar to reward programs like Gamestop, GAME and the likes. You spend money. You get points. Spend points on:

Points work on a $1/1 point basis, but you can get extra points now through multiple ‘promotions’

Personally I don’t use my US account to buy things that often, so I don’t see myself using this. Especially if I need to spend $1,000 to get $10.

In any case, this is a good idea but I don’t see it taking off too much, being as the ratio of Dollar to point is pretty ***. In UK retailer GAME for example, 1 point works out to be £0.125 where £40 is £1 with Sony Rewards $100 is $1

 

Not entirely sure if you’ve heard, but there’s been a rumour going around that CoD: Ghosts of 720p on Xbox One while it is 1080p on PS4. Now this was confirmed just the other day by Mark Rubin – The Executive Producer of Infinity Ward, the man behind the game itself. And believe it or not, some people are actually cancelling their pre-orders because they believe their version they are getting are inferior, but being as the X1 upscales all games to 1080p, is it really that much of a bother? I’ll agree 1080p native is nicer than 1080p upscaled. But still, there’s no denying that 720p itself isn’t bad to look at – so stop moaning 🙂

 

A few days after this announcement however, PlaystationDE decided to rub the salt in further by uploading this photo to their twitter and facebook page – but has since been removed for some reason:

 

As always Eurogamers digital foundry takes a place on the weekly, this time they’ve compared the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Battlefeild 3 for us to see which looks/performs better.

Judging by the video, it’s the PS3 that wins, with an overall higher framerate and slightly better visuals from my eye, anyway.

 

Shuhei Yoshida has got on his cleverphone and gone onto the twitter app to see whats up, and to his delight a twitter user referened this video:

To which Shuhei called ‘so stupid’ in the reply. If you are a mobile reader/ cant view the video, the video basically points out how games for PS4, and Xbox One have been delayed due to the PSN and Xbox Live not being capable enough to handle them. And the day one update on PS4 apparently includes something they haven’t written on the changelog – DRM.

Apparently the day 1 update disables all DRM on the PS4…. Hmm….



To put it into context, I remember watching a video of his a while back and remember him saying something along the lines of ‘because the consoles are becoming more PC like, it will be easier to hack them due to PS4 essentially being an emulator’.

PS4 firmware updates already “leaked" on sharing sites, files analyzed by hackers – The PS4’s first firmware was leaked onto a file sharing website. And has been inspected thoroughly by hackers

PS4 Media App Revealed? NBA Game Time on PlayStation Store for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita – Mayb PS are going through the entertainment route also and have NBA viewable on the Vita through an app
