  18. Nate says:

I was first brought here because during my freshman year of highschool I was given a psp for Christmas. So I bought a few games and that was great and all, but I was getting bored with them, so I decided to “jailbreak” my psp. The first hack I had for it was Half Byte Loader for 6.35 (it was an exploit for the everyone’s surikki demo or something along the lines of that) and eventually I downgraded and installed TN-HEN. I got more involved in the psp scene and began to fall in love with plugins and homebrews (especially lamecraft) , and I went from TN-HEN to PRO CFW.

Hacking my PSP was the best thing I’ve done with it.

  19. Clorbag says:

i got into the psp scene a few months after they released the psp in the us. my very first exploit was using wipeout pure to use the internet on a psp with 1.50 firmware. soon after that i had a simple nes and gb emulator and it exploded after that! it made all my favorite games playable again after lots of lost years and broken lost sold stolen cartridges later!

  20. The Kick says:

    Celebrate good times…

  21. gabestangel says:

I got into the PSP scene when I got one when I was 13. I loved it but I always wanted to do more, so I installed cfw and got a 32gb memory stick and to this day it is my favorite handheld. Unless my vita get a kernel exploit!

  22. HaYNigloo says:

Congrats wololo!!! I’d porbably never take into hacking the PSP if it weren’t for this site! Thanks for everything!

  23. Cold_Snake says:

I got into the psp scene with my white phat and I recently had to give up my uno exploit to play soul sacrifice.

  24. leonalchemist says:

got my psp when it came out, same with Vita, tok me quite some time to get my psp hacked but loved playing all my emulator games on it, even though Vita has much better screen and i dont touch my psp much nowadays; i still consider it one of the best handheld; it was user friendly, simple to use, no restrictions, so many games to play now as well.

  25. synntech says:

I was first introduced to the beta scene when i first got my vita and got the MBA exploit :)

  26. Mr.Q says:

I remember seeing all the stuff that Dark_AleX made at the beginning of the real big PSP firmwares. It was impressive. It got me into experimenting with my own homebrew overtime. I never had any other Playstation system before PSP, and all the awesome hacks, homebrews, and firmwares brought me further into the PS world as a whole. I love it.

  27. jdogrambo1515 says:

i got introduced by the zett on twitter and when i got my vita for christmas

  28. Mizu0025 says:

I got introduced to the PSP scene when I got a 2000 from cousins. I researched things about it, found homebrew, and a few months later (when I had gathered money for it) got a store to install CFW on my PSP. This was 2~ years ago,, I think…

When I got my Vita last year, I was bummed to not have more of an arcade game presence available. The hope of a working VHBL, then the actual VHBL have made my Vita much more fun for me.

  33. bijueladio says:

have any answer for ps vita scene (CFW)?
    Congratulations FOR scene

  34. shane schock says:

This site makes my vita worth owning. Without homebrew it would worthless. Thank you for your had work

  35. Charles says:

I’ve owned a PSP1000 since its initial debut in Japan in December 2004 (I happened to have been studying abroad there). There were literally 4 games on the shelf at the time: Ridge racer, Dynasty warriors, Lumines, and Minna no Golf. (And I bought all of them lol)

I first learned of PSP’s homebrew capability around May 2005, when my cousin showed me his PSP running a GBC emulator. As of firmware version 1.5, I’ve been following the homebrew scene religiously. To date, I still actually have ALL the firmware versions and their respective exploits backed up –such as:

    – dev loader
    – dax loader
    – hen (with the super buggy .gif)
    – Pandora’s Battery
    – magic juice stick
    – …etc

My PSP1000 finally went FUBAR in 2009, after about 3 thousand hours of game play in Monster Hunter and DJ Max Portable (among other things). I’ve done about 5 instances of DIY repairs by then, including key-membrane replacement, joystick replacement…etc. When the joystick ghosting was beyond repair, that’s when I went and got a PSP2000.

The 2000 didn’t last me very long, about 12 months later the joystick ghosting caused me to get another PSP. This time the PSPGo. It’s higher DPI, built in 16GB memory, and elegant slide design really captured my attention. I was really unlucky however, and had to get it replaced twice in the first year of ownership. Sony never made a fuss over the replacements, so thank god for that! The unit is still around and kicking, and I still play it occasionally.

As of early 2012, I’ve been a PS Vita owner; and immediately I started researching into its homebrew potential. This is when I discovered Wololo and recognized it as the ONE and ONLY reliable source of homebrew updates for the Vita. I now check this blog on a daily basis, always on the lookout for exciting news.

So yah… I’ve been with the PSP / PS Vita scene literally every step of the way. My loyalty towards this Sony line of products has out lasted 40% of North American marriages. How about that? =D

    • Orbis Vita says:

Nice to see a fellow original PSP scener. I got into the scene in March 2005, but didn’t get my PSP till Euro launch in September 2005.

I vaguely recall Wololo’s name back in the golden days of the PSP, but didn’t become acquainted with him fully until the Vita hacking began.

  36. bijueladio says:

Wololo talk more about this video
    true or false

    • wololo says:

This is an obvious scam: random youtube video from a nobody that asks you to download a .exe file? You’ll get a virus at best. There is *NO* Vita CFW or hack that lets you play Vita pirated games. The day it happens, it will be on the frontpage of this blog

  37. thediamante says:

My friends introduced me to wololo, just january of this year. They said there’s an exploit coming out for the vita, since then, I’ve been checking out this site everytime I have a chance.
    Thank you wololo and congratulations!

I was firstly introdused about PSP 5 years ago and the first game I saw was ACECOMBAT X. My school mate showed that amazing game to me and from then on, I dreamed of having my own PSP. My parents didn’t allow me to play games, so I spent about half a year to save enough money to buy that console. Ha ha!

  47. roman18 says:

I got my psp 5 years ago as a birthday present. After a week ive become addicted to hacking and installing different homebrews, firmwares.

And then in 2013 i got my psvita as a birthday present again. Since then ive been wanting to know how to exploit and install homebrews on the psvita. Thats when i found this great and helpful site. I want to thank you for creating and giving us information on how to hack psvita.

  50. Archaga says:

I first got introduced to the scene when the PSP 2k version came out. And of course my first thoughts were “How do I hack this thing?” And since then I’ve been the go to guy in my group of friends to install CFW in all sorts of devices.

  51. Damari Gee says:

I was introduced to the scene when there was an exploit where you put some file in your pictures folder and it crashed out or whatever the more technical term is from there I moved into the OE firmware cause I was scared to lose my hack for m33 which I soon found out was the stuff! It wasn’t all good tho because I bricked my friends trying to give him the hack I did I felt so bad I eventually read up on a way to fix it the pandora battery I couldn’t be a better day for the scene. ultimately I’m still rockin a psp1000 with the 6.60 CF but I do now have a psvita as well. thanks to this site i have the gamocracy exploit and been playing wagic hardcore and it’s fun to watch it follow the footsteps of what I guess would be its dad!? Am I the first to think that? Nahh I couldn’t be :)

    • trey says:

Ahh, are you talking about the good old ChickHEN with the Tiff image exploit? That’s the one that got me started. I started on 3.40, updated to 5.03 and then downgraded to 5.00 for the permanent m33-6. Oh the memories…

  52. DrDOA says:

I was introduced through the DS :p I really got into hacking with CFW and stuff but the DS felt limited to me so I moved on to the PSP and it had way more freedom than the DS IMO. That’s how I was introduced. And I’m glad I was.

  53. Yifan Lu says:

When I first got a PSP, there were no current exploits out, and I waited and waited, and two months later, the Luminous exploit came out. I looked everywhere for the game and it was all sold out, until I found a copy at the local Gamestop (used). I quickly hacked my PSP and resold the game on amazon for twice the value. A month or so later, the pandora battery came out.

  54. Liviu says:

When i got a psp i dont knew how to hack it

  55. Jaime Torres says:

I got introduced to the scene when I was looking around the internet for some psp hacks and I came here and fell in love with it ever since . About 2 years ago . Happy 5 years and I hope for many more to come .

  56. Taro says:

Oh man, that was long ago. I began looking into the psp scene during a time when exploits were scarce, and tool batteries were required. Since, then I’ve branched out and soft modded nearly every console I’ve owned. It’s been good, and it’s allowed me to keep playing my favorite games over numerous console generations.

  57. spokmoppa says:

Congrats Wololo, heres to another 5 years!

  58. biglittlesps says:

I got introduced to here when I bought my Vita and this community helped a lot technically to better understand the hardware of Vita soft hacks for personal uses.

  59. Dan says:

I always wanted a PSP, so in 2008 I got one, was hacked when I bought and started playing almost any game that was released, enjoyed the little *** very much.
When the Vita came I always craved it since day one, so I got it half a year later when it did in the US, haven’t been so pleased to buy and support game developers in my life until now : D

And thanks a lot for the gift Wololo!

  60. stOneskull says:

I started on dashhacks as a psp noob and they would often (and still do) link to you. i think it was wanting custom themes that eventually got me to sign up to /talk.

  61. white-side says:

i got introduced to here when sony announced ps vita

  62. fadpoly says:

when I brought my psvita, still on 1.80.

  63. Kazumi says:

Don’t expected cards but just want to say Congrates! Thanks for the work you’ve done in these years! :)

  64. x-eye says:

Happy birthday wololo.com. I wish i could do what you guy’s do. People are always dissing minimur’s blogs but I’ve always wanted to write a blog and i know how hard it is. To stay fresh, to stay interesting to stay informed etc. it takes focus and commitment, two things I’ve never had lol. So best wishes to all of you! Keep up the good work!

  65. hellkm28 says:

    Great news!!

    Well i’ve wanted a PSP, i’ve always been a geek :p
When i turned out 16 i started working and was able to buy a PSP1000 which was very expensive, i got the bundle some years later i had the opportunity to buy a PSP3K.
By the time i was already a homebrew user and i used my PSP1K for emulation, mostly GBC to play Zelda Oracle of Seasons which i had the physical cartridge, but the battery of it died and i was no longer able to save game…

Well that sums it up, the rest of the history’s a clichรฉ (got deeper and deeper into the net to find new ways to use my PSP, used CFW…)

  66. jin says:

I was introduced trying to find homebrews for the vita and was told by other forums that this was the place to be for quick exploits on vita !!!
I have since joined up !!!

  68. arielber says:

fair to say,I was shocked from the fact that someone
could find an exploit for the legendery sony defences(or atleast thats what i thought…:P)
I had some fun with exploit and as I visited this
website more often I learned more about homebrow,VHBL and more
So yeah hope you enjoyed creating this website
I sure did hope reading it :)

  69. Moss says:

    Yay, hope I win!

  70. Hellbelial says:

  75. VictorWei says:

In 2011, I planned to buy a music player, but my friend told me psp go was better, so I bought GO which I never used for music. XD

  76. psvita-freak says:

thanks to this site i found a way to hack my psp 1004 by my self (5.50 [some words here]… instead of paying 20 euros to a stupid noob… ;P
so that was the trigger to keep me at this site…. And people, this is the only cfw/vhbl/hbl/ect. site that i trust… so does the virus scanner of windows 8… ๐Ÿ˜›

  77. Tyreethetruth4 says:

I have been a follower of wololo since early 2009. Back when I wanted a PSP so badly. I finally got one in christmas 2009 and I really wanted to put CFW on it because I seen videos of it and what it can do and it was hopeless because at the time 6.20 was impossible to put CFW on and then my idiot brother updated to 6.31 when he stole my psp and tried to play it. Then I learned about HBL from wololo around 2010. So that was my workaround until a CFW was made for 6.20/6.31. There finally was a CFW for 6.20/6.31 by total noob and PRO team. Back then you had to use HBL to use the CFW but there was a update to it where you didn’t need HBL anymore but everytime you boot your PSP you had to enable the CFW again until someone made a permanate patch so in essence you had a actual CFW rather than CFW enabler. My PSP is broken now but I had a great run with my PSP.

  78. Francois says:

While searching the web for informations about PSP hack scene, I found a website (pspgen) who was talking about something said here. I rapidly found your website and find it interesting to look at your news. My day is not complete when there is no new news here :) Congrats for your 5 years, happy five years !

  79. Luis says:

Oh well, I first started paying attention to the scene right after the GTA exploit. Around 2006 I guess? Oh I did so much to my old PSP…
It also made me want to start develop apps, and understand more of the coding world, what then, by the end of 2009 led me to buy a Nokia N900, and dive deep into all of these!
I learnt and experimented coding and new “languages” like never before!
Thank you comunity, thank you wololo, guys like you made my entire digital life a complete joy!

  80. xlovenuggetx says:

happy anniversary wololo. thanks for giving the public your time and energy.

    thanks wololo

  86. NakedFaerie says:

I was introduced to the PSP scene at the very start as I got my PSP with firmware 1.50 installed it so I was there as it evolved. I’ve seen lots of homebrew and lots of CFWs. I saw the rise and death of Dark_Alex.
I’ve made my own homebrew and ran lots and lots of homebrew.
I’ve even got banned for life from a few forums and I’ve stood up for you bastards on one occasion and I killed a forum for you people.
I’m still around doing my thing and doing it well. Mainly in person jobs these days and everyone I do a job for is happy with my work. Nothing of what I do gets released online anymore as I got so much abuse none of you deserve my work.

Nobody knows what I do anymore which is good. I bet some of you still use my homebrew as I released it under another name and someone stole it and released it under their name and they’ve taken all the credit for it but I’m still happy its getting used.

So, I’ve been in the PSP scene since the start and still going. I dont know anyone else that’s been in it as long as me and still going.

  87. NakedFaerie says:

Oh I didn’t say, I’ve saw the rise of this site too. I didn’t join at the start but I knew of it and visited it a few times.

  88. Bronson says:

I first got introduced to this site July 20, I was lucky enough to be just in time for the legend of robot 2.12 VHBL. I’ve heard the name wololo be used in videos about jailbreaking ps vitas and I picked the rigbt time to google it. I really like this site not only because the jailbreaking and homebrew but bow there are posts about upcoming games and systems and the great community

  89. BigOLDick says:
