This week there’s news a plenty, this weeks news which includes the FFX HD remasters get their menus shown, EA have announced their Gamescom lineup, and you could be getting your hands on The Walking Dead: 400 Days for FREE!
As always the Vita news comes first. First thing as always, game announcements:
- Forgotten Memories
- The Walking Dead Season 2
- Atomic Ninjas
- WRC 4
- Ms. Germinator
- Chaos Rings
- Rainbow Skies
There has been a photo of what our beloved FFX / X2 HD remaster menu looks like, although they are off screen they look similar to Playstation All Stars, which I loved it’s simplistic design.
And the Playstation 3 menu:
After their Q1 financials meeting on August 1st, Sony Exec who wasn’t named spoke about the sales of Playstation systems and said this:
As you might know very well and would not need an explanation, but compared to the same period the previous year, PS3 number declined, and software business increased. And PSP continues the decline. And PS Vita, as you know, [is] not performing that well. And PS2 ceased to exist. So top line difference would be there.
He also went on to say about investment on their home consoles:
in terms of the weight of investment, PS4 is a much lighter platform compared to PS3
This makes sense due to Sony aiming for PC architecture unlike the Cell chip for the PS3.
The team behind the new inFamous games, Sucker Punch, have released a behind-the-scenes tech demo showing the smoke effects, I’ll stop yabbering and let you watch it:
woooshhhhhheeewwaaaa (You’ll know what I mean if you watch the video)
For those of you who have pre-ordered, or are going to pre-order Rayman: Legends for the PC, you will get Rayman: Origins for free. Bear in mind this is for the PC version only though
Electronic Arts have revealed their line up for Gamescom games, as always they are there to impress and have plenty of awesome games to show, these are the games which will be on the show floor for you to play, if you’re going:
- Battlefield 4
- Command & Conquer
- FIFA 14
- The Sims 4
- Need for Speed: Rivals
They also said how there will be around 500 gaming stations, which I presume includes the mobile games also.
New screenshots have been released of the modern day in the new Assassins Creed. It seems as if Abstergo are now an entertainment company who from what I understand, let you have access to the animus. Here are the photos that were posted:
There has been a photo of a Xbox One dev kit, multiple in fact, each looks different but all have the same purpose.
If you were ever aware of the leaker superdae, he managed to get a hold of a dev kit and sold it on eBay for $14,000.
Here’s the multiple pictures of each revision of the dev kits:
The Xbox’s accessories are now up for pre-order on their official website, they include an Xbox One controller, a ‘play and charge kit’ (you mean like a basic charger, right?) a headset and a controller and charger kit.
They have announced the release date as November, but are yet to say a specific date. Although Amazon has marked the controller’s release date at November 27th. Although Microsoft has debunked this date and has said it was just a place-holder.
If you have been playing COD: Black Ops II recently and have updated, you may have noticed that 3 guns will have changed. They have been ‘nerfed’ which in CoD speak translated to ‘made worse’. They haven’t been changed by much, but it seems to have made the CoD community go mental. Sending naughty words to the design director, David Vonderhaar.
This is the changelog that made CoD fan’s alike go crazy:
Multiplayer Game Balancing
- AN-94: Damage slightly reduced.
- DSR 50: Rate of fire reduced.
- Ballista: Rate of fire slightly reduced
Since then the poor man has been sent plenty of abuse. So if you plan on asking him why it’s changed, you’re answer is right there.
We’ve all heard about that game ‘Agent’. Right? Well recently the trademark ran out. And was swiftly renewed. I believe the reason it’s taken so long is because the studio who has been set the task developing it, Rockstar North are tasked with making it have their hands full with GTA V at the moment, And by the time it has finished it will be around ‘next-gen’ time, so I have a feeling that it’ll either be multi-gen game, or moved across to PS4. Being as it probably won’t be out for another 2 years post-GTA V release.
The 2 trademarks that were renewed consisted of the name itself and how a pistol ‘compromised the inside of the G.’
It’s a shame we don’t have any gameplay of Agent, but we do have leaked gameplay pictures.
I have been part of the gaming community for the past year or so, and I have no idea what all this hype of ‘The Last Guardian’ is about, I understand it is a delayed game from about 4 years ago, but… why all the hype?
Launch title ‘Kinect sports rivals’ for Xbox One has been delayed, so unfortunately if you plan on getting it then you’ll have to wait a bit, there are games like Sunset Overdrive though, which I am dying to know more about. Although I’m not in to motion gaming, I’ll have to admit, it does look quite fun.
Also on the news of Xbox, MS announced how much their first party games will cost, and it turns out they will be priced at £50. Bearing in mind the US retail is $60, that’s a bit out of order. For those of you who are wondering, £50 in dollars is just under $80
