upcoming VHBL hack on Vita 2.12: updated homebrew compatibility list
A few days ago I showed some of my initial test results of Qwikrazor87’s upcoming VHBL hack for Vita 2.12. I was then put in touch with one of his other beta testers who shared his test results with me. Let me show you the updated compatibility list.
Most of these homebrews were taken from the VHBL Homebrew thread here. In the list below, I am sharing the aggregated results of both this tester and myself (based on my previous test results)

Note that a “non working” homebrew is not always a fatality. This shows you the results from a few testers in a few sepcific conditions, with the initial release of the hack. There are possibilities that some working versions of the same homebrew exist (such is the case above with Snes9xTYL, which itself works, while some mods of the emulator don’t work), or tricks to make these homebrews work, or that an update of the VHBL port will bring more compatibility.
The lack of compatibility of PSPFiler, however, is a bummer. wMenu does not have any File manager features, and that could become a problem if no alternative exists, if only to delete/reorganize homebrews.
As a reminder, Qwikrazor’s upcoming exploit will be in a game that is only available in the US store. I explain here how you can buy US PSN Credit if you live outside of the US, and we have an ongoing tiny “contest” on twitter to win a $20 PSN Code. In parallel, I got contacted about a possible EU exploit that could be available, and I am following up on that as fast as my free time permits.

Yes, it works, but its not X64. Also, N64 is a bit jerky with textures and sound 🙁

There might be But this one i dont believe is because the EU Unreleased version was usermode only.

Is this Exploit expensive? i dont need a Exact price but i would at least like to know if its over 15$ or under 15$
have in your PSN wallet whatever you are willing to spend on the exploit, f it turns to be cheaper than what you have, then use the rest of the money for something else
well i certainly hope this Exploit isnt over 15$. I sold my psp not realizing that i should’ve searched up if you can get Homebrew for the vita easily. and from what i see its not to easy to get homebrews for the vita. Also, do any of you guys know since Quake can run on this, can Quake Mods be played on it as well? such as Left 4 Quake, or Qmod, or Halo Soltitude?

they can’t release the name of the game because sony will remove it from the PSN store and update and patch the firmware like release FW update 2.13 and I know it’s hard to wait and I hate it too
Can you test some versions of daedalus x64, snes9xtylmemc to see if some of them are working. daedalus x64 r777 is not the last release.
when the VBHL come out is it possible myself to download some others versions of daedalus like r1800 to test it ? or it wont working because we have to download the emulators from your list because they are special format. Yes, you will be able to test by yourself.
Only Daedalus works. No known versions of X64 are working. I tried 3 different versions and all force closed HBL 😛

by what i saw the vhbl its the same of the ofw 2.06. The developer stopped to improve his source code?
Besides making it work on the vita, nothing much has been done on vhbl to improve it in the past 12 months. The people with the skills to improve it either dont have the time or the motivation. But feel free to help 🙂
Without pspfiler how would we get emulators and roms and such in place?
DOes vhbl read from the save data folder directly? I suppose that would be okay..
The menus typically provide enough for you to install stuff. As you can see, I was able to run several emulators without a problem. The issue here is more about convenience to move and delete stuff.
PSPDOXMANAGER works fine.

You will still be able to go online and play games search the web nothing can happen to you with VHBL.
can you tell us if the file of the game is going to be fuckhuge or will it be manageable? ive got a 4gb card and less than 40mb of freespace 😛

wow, thanks for all the testing guys…this exploit looks more promising than the last couple released…im still on 2.02 uno, but i think ill pick this game up still, just for possible future purposes…thanks again to all who are putting so much of their free time into this.

i recently noticed previously exploited games for the vita available for download, and was curios if it was possible to purchase then revert to an older firmware to use said exploit? Sorry to ask herebut legit question none the less. noticed it while running ofw 2.11.
You currently cannot downgrade your Vita.
And what about Frontier 1337 ??? I could hack my Vita just for this game.

i dont worry too much about daedalus, R13 is running a little to slow to me but im still very satisfied with snes,nes,genesis,gameboy emulators THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT WORKS ALL !!!
I don’t see any news on PSX. Should I be getting this if I’m on 2.02 (Uno) and only interested in PSX emulation?
No. Decent Psx emulation requires a kernel exploit. Stay on 2.02

I upgraded to play, Soul Sacrifice. It was worth it. But, im now looking forward to Vhbl again.
Bookr, immediately upgrades my Vita to a device that does more than just play games.

hello being that this exploit uses the psp emulator on the vita the snes emulator, for example, will work in the same way than in the psp. i wont be able to play super metroid at his best? i only want a god snes emulator in mi vita, damn.
Super Metroid works just fine with SNES9XTYL.

Same as the psp, although the vita lets you add some bilinear filtering.
