Happy new year! PSP Game UNO vulnerability revealed by Frostegater, port of CEF To Vita 2.02 incoming.
After a long time of waiting and a weeks-long Ninja release, Frostegater’s exploit is finally revealed to be in the PSP Mini game UNO. UNO joins the growing collection of PSP games with a buffer overflow vulnerability, and if our experience is to be trusted, Sony will remove it from their stores within 48hrs (although we hope the holiday season might help delaying this…), so hurry up and get it.
For those who just join us, developer Frostegater announced a few weeks ago that he would be porting Total_Noob’s CEF to Vita Firmware 2.02. CEF is a piece of software that allows users to run PSP Homebrews, plugins, and backups within the PSP emulator of the Vita. Since this is not official Sony software, it relies on flaws in some specific games in order to run. This time’s game is UNO.
But well, if you’ve been following this blog, you know what CEF does and why you want it, so if you are interested, hurry up, and get Uno now. Let me emphasize again that if you are interested, you want to buy that game now, not tomorrow, not in 2 hours, but now, as you don’t know when Sony will remove it from their stores.
The Game is available in the US, JP, and EU stores, but not in HK based on the reports I have. For those who are in a store where the game is not available, you can create an account in another country, and order a PSN code online. I will not promote any of them, but feel free to share your recommendations in the comments below.
If you do get the game, do not wait to install it on your Vita. A typical mistake is that people will buy from their PS3, download it to their PS3, and not install it to their Vita immediately. This does not work, as Sony has the possibility to remove the game from your download list, technically preventing you from easily copying it from your PS3 to your Vita.
Frostegater’s files will be released on this site as well as other scene websites in a few days (in general we wait until the game is not available in the Sony stores anymore), and until then, here are a few videos from Frostegater and myself showing the exploit in action.

One question, will I have to do all the CFW Installation and put all homebrew files on the same Vita Stick I have UNO on? Because I have a spare, nearly empty one and wondering if I should move everything into that one instead
you need to boot Uno each time you want the PSP mode, so yes. use opencma to transfer over to pc, then use opencma once the new memorycard is plugged inside the vita

Try going to the advanced settings of your wi-fi connection and change your DNS settings to Manual. Then type 8.8.8.8 for primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 for secondary. This helped me and i hope it helps you too!

Do I have to buy this new game even tough I already have MHFU and Gravity Crash Portable on my Vita? Won’t the new CEF work on previous games with exploits?
Short answer: Yes
To my understanding, this isn’t a new CEF this is a port of the current CEF to a new exploited game. In this case Uno. The main benefits come from being able to run the same CEF on a higher firmware.

got 2 PS Vitas (black and white), 4gb, 4gb and 32gb. Installed UNO on each memory card and backed up them all.

Wont happen until we get a full Vita hack due to the PSPemu of the Vita being limited in terms of specs.
But I heard that even the vita psp emu is stronger than the actual psp.Then again I see why it still wouldn’t work.But what about a ds emulator?

Yes. Need to use the Opencma trick for it to work when they release a 2.03 ofw. DL them now and transfer the free games to your pc for later works aswell.
DL them on your Vita is what I forgot to put. Then transfer to pc and delete them from you Vita if you need space and you can always transfer em back over to your vita later. This will save you alot of trouble later on.

yes!
and you can remap it to any button you wish!
also, on firmware 2.02 you can map “hot zones” on your screen to reflect any button inside the psp emu. quite nice if you ask me! 😉

well, since we are at a time of festivities, its the end of the year and what nots… sony will only start to work on 2013-01-02 and, by then, they’ll remove the game and wololo will release the exploit.
I so hope this is the case. Just got enough money to buy a 4GB and PSN card, by the time I got to GAME store it closed…5pm on Sundays!
