Vita Firmware 2.01 incoming?

Apparently Sony found a bug in firmware 2.00 that prevented the automatic save upload from working correctly.

Sony said they’ll release a new firmware, possibly 2.01, to fix this issue. But, I digress, is there more to this? could Sony have found a possible vulnerability? maybe a Vita one? or a PSP one? We may never know as Sony usually tends to call bug fixes and exploit patching the same thing (System stability improvement), although given the urgency of the announcement, it is likely the patch will be only for this one feature.

We’ll keep you updated on this.

Aren’t we becoming paranoid? Lol. I’m jk.

My fear is that they’ve found the fw2.0 exploit that we’re seeing on the scene.

Just more proof there are no testers anymore. We are the testers.

Thats also why there are 0-day patches for games as even the game devs have quit the testers and let the public test them as its cheaper to get testing for free than to pay people to test out games.

Everyone is cutting corners to get more money sooner.

    Testers are needed in
    production, as developers
    add new features to the
    engine, so that the claim
    that there are no more
    testers – unfounded

patches always come out because the programs have
    recently become more in
    fucking dozens of times, and
    if before the source AAA
    project weighed 40 mb, but
now it can be up to 4gb. And in order to fix a bug you
    need to spend about 4
    months, and the time
    running out in the
    meantime. therefore easier
    to produce 100500 patches.

I hope you understand the meaning of this post.

Actually, my PS Vita will not find my wireless network on the first try after the 2.00 firmware update. I have to try it a second time for it to work and also I noticed that that game icon of the game you have inserted in the PS Vita doesnt shake anymore?

Do newer games require newer firmwares or no? I hope not… I really don’t like updating firmwares because it feels like they take more features away than give you new features. I however do like the new feature that allows the browser to work better and not get that ugly checker look, but why was the browser screwed up to begin with? Shouldn’t the browser have been better at launch than we were given?

someone should sue sony for this… this can’t be covered by terms and conditions… hell, people have downloaded more firmwares than games… SONY, this is a game console not a developer toy

the 2.0 auto save bug is real, my games won’t auto upload the saves, auto upload works for trophies and game patches, just not game saves.
so this update is to make things right, not a security update.

well i did submit an improvement Sony could make so hopefully that is 1 thing that will be included….maybe if i announce it on here i could have some help for this annoying problem.

i told them when the memory card gets removed on purpose or accident it starts updating the home screen and moves every single app around then you have to go and reorganize them all <.<…..so i said that all they had to do was simply add a refresh touch screen button so when u switched cards or if it got removed by accident u wouldn't have to try to move all your apps back into the same spot u had them…also now that i think about it it would also help to add a "save home screen" button so that u can always get back to where u were :) ….tyvm for any1 that helps and hope i don't have to deal with this annoying problem again.

Does it have a circle in the middle of the screen that keeps going around and around? If so, you hold the power button down for a few minutes and then it shuts off. Turn it back on and it turns back on in restore mode.

I find there to be way more wrong with the latest PS3 update, especially the PSN… I swear, the new PSN on the PS3 would have worked way better on the Vita than the PS3… after the last PS3 update, my system has frozen and acted buggy more than it has its whole entire life span….
