PS Vita Firmware 1.80: Take the tour (Video)

If things go smoothly, PS Vita firmware update 1.80 should be out within the next 24hours, and Sony is teasing us with a video (below) showcasing this new firmware.

As you can see in the video, there’s no big surprise compared to what had been announced at gamescom. The video showcases some of the menu improvements, improvements in the video, maps and music apps, as well as in the browser. It also introduces the long awaited PS1 classics, and Sony gives us a list of the PS1 games we can be expecting to see tomorrow:

  • Arc the Lad
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • FINAL FANTASY VII
  • Hot Shots Golf 2
  • Jet Moto
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tomb Raider
  • Twisted Metal 2
  • Wild Arms

The good news is, if you’ve already purchased those for your PSP, you’ll be able to download them to your vita free of charge. Sony also promised they will do their best to bring more PS1 titles to our Vita asap.

How about you, are you excited about this upcoming Firmware?

      Upgraded to 1.80.

Btw I just went in the Download List to get the games that I have and it won’t let me download the games. So I am assuming that the Playstation Store hasn’t updated yet…

This sucks… have to use the PS3 to get PS1 games on the Vita D: Also, the browser still sucks. Takes minutes to get the webpage to load for me.

Smart sony. Rollout schedule will make it necessary to continue having PSN, ie not VHBL until you get all the psone games you’d like to have on the vita. Can we still buy the VHBL game needed and keep it on the card until we choose to load VHBL?
