My ps3 was involved in a tragic update loop about 4 years ago thanx to sonys call of duty update so I can’t use the cheats. But, if it was still working I’d say thanx and give it a try 🙂

    • Xian Nox says:

If you’re going to pay for your games, why not pay to the companies that make them? Paying to pirate games is ridiculous.

      • Trapstar30 says:

Thats your own opinion I think as long as you still buy games  I’m not hurting anybody plus I always hate Sony on many levels. It was only $60 not that big of a deal I like to tweaks my devices I always like to personalize my device and stand out from others.  I think this goes deep then just pirate games it’s a form of rebellious against companies who have mess up practices when it comes to consumer I don’t like to be told that I  have to follow these sets of rule. I’m the type of person thats going to ask why and look for a way to stand out from others. I like to have full control of my device plus this is my back ps3 I use to entertain my friends on my projector so before you judge and make your close minded opinion know that some people think outside the box. Just because they say give your money to them don’t make them always right. 🙂

        • wololo says:

If you think True Blue is giving you more freedom than Sony, you’re mistaken. I’m not surprised, I have yet to meet one of their customers that understand the issue with True Blue.

You’re free to have a True Blue, and to have your opinion on your subject, but don’t pretend you want to have full control of your device if you’re a True Blue owner, that’s just an insult to real hackers who are actually fighting for that kind of Freedom. It also shows you have no clue what you are talking about. I am tired of people trying to come up with fake excuses to justify that they are paying some crooks for something that should be free.

The truth is, you have the bitter taste of paying 60$ for something that should be free, and try to come up with all the excuses you can to not feel bad about it. So as Xian Nox said, either pay no one for your games, or pay the right guys.

Edit: you are also hurting the scene badly by sending the message that it is ok to overprice a hardware hack as long as you are the only one with the knowledge. You are telling people like True Blue that not sharing knowledge is ok, which leads to a closed scene. This makes lots of hackers simply give up on the scene, so this means less and less interesting open content. You might be in for pirated games, but some of us would like to see much more happening on the scene.

Imagine if people like Dark Alex had protected their code with DRMs and started selling it? We would still be blocked on 1.50 psps, models above the PSP 1000 would not be hackable, because people would not know how to hack these things. Buy buying the True Blue dongle, you’re saying “it’s ok to stop looking for hacks on the PS3”. Until the day Sony definitely makes an ok patch for their games, and you’ll be crying because True blue has taken the scene on hold for 2 years, preventing anybody from making significant progress.

        • jc_gagrma says:

Actually, you are hurting people. You are hurting the companies who made the game. You are hurting users who like those games as they get fewer games. Worse, you are hurting the entire PS3 scene, by stagnating growth due to hoarding information for profit, and by tainting the reputation of ps3 users with the likes of unrepentant TB pirate kiddies who don’t give a damn about how their actions affects others.

For $60, you could also get a rind-stone decal, and slap in on top of your ps3. Quite the customization, and it doesn’t encourage criminals their actions have merit.

Rebellious against companies who have mess up practices when it comes to consumer and you don’t like to be told that you have to follow these sets of rule?
Don’t make me laugh. You are installing suicide code, and are forced to use an unnecessary dongle to validate your DRMFW.
Very rebellious against anti-consumer practices now, aren’t we?

And no, you do not have full control of your device on TBFW. Pull out your dongle while the system is running, see how “full” your control is then.
How much control do you have if the unit malfunctions? “Oh, it wiped your HDD?” How tragic.

Your comments of a projector mean nothing, since TB is not involved in that, and any user (even on OFW) can do so.

Your outside the box thinking is humorously close-minded, since this functionality can be integrated into PS3 CFW for free, meaning your actions are nothing but the selfish ramblings of a pirate who actively supports those who destroy the very users who do actually “think outside the box.”

And just because TB tells you to pay them money, doesn’t make them right either.

          • natsu says:

i cannot agree more with wololo…

can you imagine our vita or psp having to use some dongle to play pirated games??

i will never pay for piracy…

i, myself enjoy downloading stuffs for FREE,

ex. free movies, mp3, anime and isos for my psp 3000.

            for me, piracy != $$$$$

  7. Trapstar30 says:

To jc_gagrma: Actually I’m not hurting anybody and you sound stupid for saying that I state before I still buy games this is my three ps3 the test dummy I use for hack like true blue etc… and the whole ps3 scene been *** up for years and if your a true gamer/hacker you know this so TB is just adding more gasoline to fire.  You can say the dev that made TB are criminals that’s your opinion but who’s not America was founded by criminal everybody wants to make a profit for their work even more now days with economic the way it is. In my own way I’m saying thanks to the dev for a job well done different between me and you is that I can take it out and restore my ps3 and it will not affect me because I was smart to backup everything my hard drive tb is like having a hack psp have two so one is add to collections and  just to try it out recorded then whip clean and trying different like putting linux back on ps3 i don’t support anybody I really don’t give a *** who right or wrong I see a hack I want and I try it because if I  wanted to pirate my ps3 is on 3.55 before true blue I already backup all my games on it with mulitman  i know the site to get games that don’t have tb patch there no good games out plus I don’t do it for games I do it for the hack it’s more fun hacking device then actually playing them  but no I see tb was getting alot of talk so I wanted to see all the hype was about then I add it to my collections with the rest of the other hack deivce I have lol. Wololo nobody pretend to know what they are talking about I do have full control my device tb is on one ps3 like state before the one that’s gets little hardcore gaming and I’m not making excuses to justify anything we can agree to disagree but like I state before I said thanks to (oct0xor) and will try out his ps3usercheat I’m not sending any message if you want try then do so just do your research  if not dont but don’t try to force your views on to me because I paid for it no ones mad $60 is nothing I spent more on hardware all the time “Imagine if people like Dark Alex had protected their code with DRMs and started selling it? We would still be blocked on 1.50 psps, models above the PSP 1000 would not be hackable, because people would not know how to hack these things. Buy buying the True Blue dongle, you’re saying “it’s ok to stop looking for hacks on the PS3″.” now for this quote I’m going to say you cant tell me Dark Alex did ask for any donation for his work right ? so it’s ok to ask for donation as long as you make it seem like you going to use it for just help fund your project but how do we know it’s been use for that  like you do wololo oh wait thats a different way of asking for money for your work isn’t it so are you a criminal too then because you cant act all highly and mighty and you doing the same thing I know you pirate games before ones in your life and i know you might charge people for a simple *** hack that if they could research do on their own too see i been fixing people computer for free for a hot min because unlike yourself I’m waiting until i get my piece of paper next year that said officially can make some real money for my service this is just on the job experience and you wouldn’t be wrong for doing it if that’s what you want to do I done it in the past jail breaking iPhone, iPad etc… I think you got me all wrong I agree with you one some point yes it shouldn’t had protected their code with DRMs but we live in a world where nothing is unhackable so why get hype when there a team working getting the codes to the public ?the problem isn’t why they did it but why Sony and other companies make hackers go this route because they need to validate themselves as a supreme holder of content.

    • wololo says:

As most TB users, you think the problem is the money, when the problem is the DRM.

You’re also making a confusion between what you do (In your country, using counterfeit products like you do can go up to one year of prison and 100’000$ in fine), and hackers who share their knowledge and ask for a personal and optional contribution *after* sharing their stuff.

Also, you can try and insult me, but when you do, you should get your facts straight. I have not asked for donations for my work in the past 2 years, either with Wagic or HBL. Did that stop me from sharing my findings? I don’t think so. Did you see me sell my work and put DRMs on it to prevent the rest of the scene from learning out of my work? I don’t think so. Does True Blue have the right to put DRMs in their product? Yes, and I think it is clever. Does it make you a dumb customer for buying their stuff? Definitely.

That’s the last time I’m answering you. Sorry for sounding elitist, I don’t mind discussing with people who do not share my opinion, but I expect people I discuss with to have valid arguments and an IQ higher than that of a banana. Also formatting your answer would have helped.

    *slow clap*

trapstar you really are a idiot :/

    • Xian Nox says:

*slow clap* A cookie to anyone who reads that Great Wall o’ Text thing without using a text editor to reformat it. And yes, instead of wasting your money to support pirates/criminals, go donate it to the Red Cross or something.

  9. natsu says:

trapstar, go and donate to SKFU and put your money into good use…

    😀

  10. macgregger says:

    Trapstar30:
“plus I always hate Sony on many levels.”
    “this is my three ps3”

so you hate sony, yet you bought not only one PS3, but three of them? Sounds like you sc*** ’em over good by buying the TB dongle… idiot.

The ONLY way to stick it to Sony is to NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. If you enjoy it, then buy it. If you don’t, then keep your money. ’nuff said.

stealing games is WRONG no matter which way you look at it. Sharing information and homebrew code is fine. That’s what makes the scene exciting.

  11. mindstate says:

First off i’d like to say that this is really awesome and thanks oct for putting the work in to reverse engineer this dongle. It is only a matter of time now before the TB is reverse engineered, awesome.

And to the trapstar? lol trapstar huh? you a gangsta too? Homie you sound like an idiot, nuff said.

Again thanks oct for doing this, this is really great.

  12. Salah says:

I just hate when the scene of a video console dies , it make’s me feel sad .
@trapstar30 why not donating the half of the money you wasted buying that TB to that hacker ?
Next time you should think before doing such things.

  13. ShinichiKudo721 says:

Wololo , You are the best. I would not imagine if you have DRM in HBL. I would never been able to enjoy my homebrews on my PSP. Thx for everything. And htis is the best news i heard since i bought my PS3 in December 2011

  14. Chris Highwind says:

Now, before I download this, I have a few questions:

    1. Can I use any old USB flash drive for this dongle?
    2. Will this work on OFW? I’ve got the latest OFW, so it’s too late for me to downgrade.

    • wololo says:

      1. This doesn’t require a dongle at all. The only thing the dongle was used for is taking peoples money.
      2. No, you need a cfw.

  15. Josh says:

    IMPORTANT COMMENT HERE
Guys, the most inportnat post on wololo here right now (for kernel access etc. on the vita)is the fundraiser for the vita devkit. I donated already but i’m wondering if someone could make a project on kickstarter(google it). There, i’m pretty sure it will get a huge amount of funds quickly. Wololo Please read and consider this. I’m not home(US) right now so I can’t make the project. When the funds are raised, it can be donated directly to SKFU’s blog post.

  16. James who ? says:
