    oh dam it hot

    I’m waiting to see how:
    a) The overall ergonomics of the thing works with games. This new Sony handheld is still missing a few buttons. Plus, I don’t want to touch the screen everytime I’m playing Uncharted.

    b) How FIFA translates to the NGP. Whether EA can bring the console experience to handheld, I’m sold.

If these things play out well, I’ll be going for the cheaper one.

    • sweirdo

No you don’t have to use touch screen, they clearly said that there was other options.

hope to buy 1 in first day too, price is mora than fare

Living in New Zealand 250 USD equates to about 300 NZD. Knowing our lack of luck it’ll be selling for around 399 here though… :/

  8. svenn

fck’d up dollars … how can they give US a reduction of about 120 dollars thats almost 50% off :/
Anyway, its a nice price for the hardware, but they only have 80 games sofar its not a bunch-load of games. I’m waiting until they bring out a game I really want.
Cause I don’t need to know my neighbour just played tetris for the last 16 hours.

  9. Henry

I’ll be waiting for a Vita Slim. That sounds like a weight-loss drink =0

  10. Coldbird

No thank you Sony. I will pass.

Who knows, if you guys would for once stop those Europe-Raping-Prices then I would consider, but honestly, I’m not wasting 300€ on this.

  11. equis

Sounds nice to some people, some don’t… I’m guessing yet if I will buy one, not sure. The price sounds good for me, but there are some other point to take into account. So time will say.

Just like I thought 250 I nauled the estimate

  16. watashi

The price isn’t bad, but a little unfair for us European. I am not that interested of games (well ps2 game support would be nice). At the moment I would like to have simple things like a better browser, pdf/image reader and support that allows anyone to make applications for the console. So if Vita has similar features as CFW, I’ll get one.

  17. svanheulen

I don’t care if it only costs $10 and gives blow jobs, I’m not giving Sony another dime of my money. You know, after what Sony has been through, you’re going to have to agree to all sorts of ridiculous things just to just the thing on. And how much do you think the games will cost? It’s digital only but I bet they’ll be charging $40-$50 per game still.

    • KillerX

Well, you ARE getting the full next gen experience, translated (unabridged, hopefully) to a handheld. We’re lucky the games aren’t going to be $60. But yeah, it’s going to have some sick, privacy-invading DRM. Nintendo has access to everything you do on your 3DS, including pictures taken with its camera, according to the TOS. I can imagine Sony being much worse. So no next gen handheld for me.

      • svanheulen

First off I don’t think $60 is worth it for most games anyway. Secondly, they’re digital which means they don’t have all the overhead of physical games. Thirdly, you wont be able to resell your games which lowers their value.

      • svanheulen

I don’t think $60 is worth it for most games anyway. On top of that they’ll be digital which means they wont have all the overhead costs of a physical game and you wont be able to resell it.

        • KillerX

The games are on flash memory cards as well as digital downloads. It isn’t all digital.

  18. Grubby

Why Sony hate Europe so MUCH!?!?

  19. Lejam987

    HAHA that’s called racial profiling.

  20. Lejam987

Oh yeah, and I wonder how much the games will cost…i figure somewhere around $30-50

  21. PSBitcher

I already tried one out their badass. To try one out you have to live in a driving distance :).

  22. cscash241

Thank god I love in the US LOLOLOLOLOLO HAHAHAHAHAH ROFL

  23. Jesus

And again in Mexico it will be over priced…

    • equis

Sony’s consoles in Mexico are not overpriced. Just compare prices in USA and in mexican pesos: differences are minimal. I think games are the expensive ones. Besides that, you can buy a console in a fast trip to USA…

  24. Norml

No Specs announced, good price but at what price? I was down with the fullout PSPLife….still be good but.

  25. noname94

Wololo is NGP hackable?….I heard that its gonna be easier to hack than psp 1000,2000,3000 and PSP Go

  26. paKO JONES

Damn!! I’m about to finish my student phase and I don’t think I’ll have enough money to buy it! Damn!!

  27. raziel

damn I want it so badly, but no money 🙁

gonna sell my new psp 3004 asap!

  28. asmith906

dont blame sony for the price hike blame the taxes that get placed on it. just look at how much you get ripped of on game prices

  29. myusernameisusername

I bought my piece of *** PSP Go for $250!!!!!!!! I got ripped off!

  30. Optiplex

I would wait till they discover a way to dump its catridge … for the mean time 3DS is my favourite
    … holy ***!!

  31. BlkHalo

Anyone else concerned how it’ll be portable? I mean, I found the PSP 3k to be big so i bought the Go… But this is even bigger than the 3k… How exactly do I get this badass *** to fit in my pocket!? (especially the two analog sticks, they’ll get in the way too)

  32. BlkHalo

Lolol, I forgot about the PSP Go being 250$ at release. I mean, I got mine a few months ago, NIB for 180$ + 5 shipping on ebay, and it’s price dropped to 200$, and now it’s price is only 50$ more than it’s dropped price… Well, I want the 3G version, but I don’t have barely any money… I guess I’ll sell my PSP 3k on ebay, and maybe even my PSP Go… but I’m still worried about it fitting in my pocket when I could barely get my 3k to be conformable in my pocket, and now the vita is bigger, and not to mention the dual analog STICKS getting in the way/getting damaged… oh damn, this is something to think about… maybe I’ll just wait.
