6.35/6.31 -> 6.20 Downgrader by Davee
I know, I’m 24hrs late on this one… real life does that to people.
As he announced a while ago, Davee release a downgrader for people who are on OFW 6.35/6.31 and want to go back to 6.20. You already know it works, but I tested it for you on my psp3000 (Davee, I actually trust you so much that I didn’t even try on my phat before that 🙂 )
As you probably already know, we’re currently in a weird situation on the PSP scene, where two systems exist for Homebrew fans. One called TN Hen for 6.20 users, the other one is Hen Pro for 6.31/6.35 users.
Both these Hens (Homebrew Enabler) have pros and cons, support different plugins, have different homebrew compatibility. Let’s be honest, I was expecting one to take over the other, but that never really happened.
So, as a user, you are given a choice between 6.20 and 6.35. Of course, once on 6.35, you can’t go back, so if you don’t like this firmware, you’re kind of sc***…well that was true until this release. Now Davee gives you the possibility to test both 6.20 and 6.35, then choose which one you like…and change again as much as you want if you have lots of free time on your hands.
download/install
- Download here (or mirror here)
- Copy the “PSP/Game/downgrader” folder in the PSP/Game/downgrader folder of your memory stick.
- download the 6.20 Firmware update here
- Put the 6.20 firmware update in PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
- Run the “downgrader” from your PSP, and follow the instructions (wich consists in pressing “X” when asked to).
This is a nice utility (and impressive too, considering that Sony blocked the “usual” ways of downgrading in recent firmwares).
Davee’s Downgrader uses works from other devs in the scene, and the Readme gives thanks to bbtgp, coyotebean, kgsws, Silverspring, and Bubbletune.
The package includes full sources (and a README if the instructions above are not enough), what more do you want? 🙂
downgrading is a risky procedure, and if you mess up you can end up with a bricked PSP. This downgrader has been confirmed by enough people to work, but don’t downgrade unless you really need to!

i have psp 08g and is not suported
HI guys iam having a big problem and don’t understand what it is
I did this step by step from the above tutorial.
OK download and both files already.
I made a folder Name UPDATE in the game folder with 6.20 FW.
i pass the downgrader to game folder too.
I launch the downgrader and i see the letters the PUFF shutdown my PSP.
Battery full charge i don’t know what to do,please help!!

Dont do like this > PSP/GAME/UPDATE/PSP_620_FW_UPDATE > this will corrupt and wrong.
Please do like this > PSP/GAME/UPDATE > Work Fine.
That UPDATE is PSP_620_FW_UPDATE( Just Rename it to UPDATE) or PSP_620_FW_UPDATE( Rename this file to UPDATE).

rai till now there is no way, but i sure there are some people who know how but it is not possible for now! You simply have to stay a few days/weeks with ofw 6.37. So don´t update to the 6.38 or higher or u can wait longer as half year 4 a hen/downgrader.

if you read the other comments it doesn’t appear to work on the 3008 modles. worked on my 3001 though
same sitaution here… :(… my psp-3004 even turning off atomatically….

wololo i’m desperate, my id storage are corrupt, i use a psp v3 8c, when i try wo downgrade it says “the system configuration of this psp system does not appear to be correct. theupdate cannot be started. contact technical support for assistance ( drnfffffcd )”… umd and wifi don’t work, have u any idea to solve this proble?? i’m going to be crazy, i think that i must use ‘psp key cleaner’ this doesn’t exist a version for my psp please help me D:

if u don´t use custom gameboot or other custom setting it should be no problem. 🙂
I’d like to rewrite this app to downgrade from 6.20 to 5.03 or lower. Yes, I have source files but still, I didn’t understand anything. If there’s 6.20 to 5.03 downgrader, the why I can’t find at least one working?

8c .. no this should be not the reason why it can not update(downgrade).
If u´re lucky your psp is a pandora try psp ident 0.7 or up!
What firmware u use 6.3x? Maybe u use any custom settings (gameboot vsh.txt) so set it to default. Do u try the tut i posted a link @ olored?!
Another tool to save the id store is psp tool v1 /now i have a full backup 😀

What can I do if my psp doesn’t accept it? 🙁 I really hate the 6.31 lol reaorheaoiuaher and I want to test the 6.20 but my mainboard does not support I think… it says “8G detected” or whatever it means XD please… help!
ah… I forgot, I have a PSP 3001 D 6.31 and I don’t know how to know my mainboard lol 🙁

@Shintahimura…. Use PEPSIDENT to identify the mainboard on your psp

Step 1) Download the downgrader and copy it to your PSP.
Step 2) Download OFW 6.20 and copy it to your PSP.
Step 3) Start the Downgrader on your PSP.
Step 4) Wait 15Seconds and press “X”
Step 5) Now start the Sony SCE updater press start and install.
Step 6) Wait 5-10Min. and youre PSP is done!

1) turn back to 6.2 with downgrader
2) go to 6.35 and wait for CFW-A of virtuous flame
i u are sure u can downgrade without high risk try it use pspident
than u can change it back and forward i don t do this with my 3004 g4 with custom flash^^
