TN Hen: uploaded a more convenient package
Apologies to everyone for the timeouts that have been happening for the last couple days, my site is getting much more traffic than it can handle, and I’ve spent a good amount of the day tryin to patch things here and there.
Earlier today developer Virtuous Flame released a quick patch for Total_Noob’s Hen, so that PSP3000 users could run the Hen. apparently this patch is not perfect as several psp3000 users reported that although the Hen starts correctly, running homebrews leads to a crash most of the time.
I have extensively tested Total_Noob’s work on my psp3000 in its early stages, so I am confident that it works on a psp3000, and whatever people are experiencing on this public release is most likely a tiny bug that will be fixed soon. Keep in mind that there are two types of PSP3000 (3g and 4g), and it is very likely that only one of the models (most likely 4g) is affected by the bug.
My PSP 3000 is now on 6.35 so I cannot test the Hen with this model anymore.
However I packaged an “easy to use” archive which contains everything you need to run the Hen (except the patapon demo). This package includes the unofficial patch by VFlame, and hopefully wil make life easier for many people. Here’s a video showing the Hen in action on a pspgo, running the upcoming release of Wagic (0.14) directly from the XMB.

yessss..guys…if u are able to load HEN…vsh menu n all….but opening hombrew causes a bOOm crash…then this trick will work for u aLL
from starting :-
1. open patapon >> savedata >> hen (normal)
2. check HEN is enabled >> vsh menu
3. remove mem card
4. press select >> vsh menu >> restart vsh menu
5. after psp ram restarts >> insert mem card >> go to ur homebrew >> click on it and whoa !! >> it doesent crash works perfectly !!
6. follow steps 3 & 4 evertime u start a new homebrew
(i tried wagic, cavestory, bookr, cspsp !! and daedalus64 !!…works like a charm)
i guess this is a small bug….total-noob…fix it soon !

idk if wololo knws this but i also have the psp 3001 6.2 and its been installed but not only does it load homebrews but umds,comic reader anything tht makes it load the gameboot,if u hav the gameboot turned off it freezes and crashes right at the xmb…sigh…i thinktotal noob constrated only on psp go..i knew something like this would happen…btw the chinese hacker thingy doesnt help at all…hope
total_noob plz fix this ASAP
@wololo could you ask T_N for a rough estimation of when the hen should be available for the newer FW? Like “in about 1 month or 6 weeks” or even just a confirmation that it will come out (I know he said he would release it sometime, but there were no updates on that, so I’m a bit unsure).
And BTW nice work with the Hen! unfortunately I cannot test it :'(

I tried it On all psp models and it worked,I found out some plugins stops it from working properly.erase your plugins folder then try running without them. That’s what stop my 3004 from working,good luck!
Whoever created this HEN is a total noob for not making it work on my 6.31 PSP Go.
When I try to run mvspsp from the XMB with HEN, it crashes. I have a psp 3010
If your homebrew keeps on crashing try this out.
1. Open vsh menu (press select in xmb)
2. Take your memory stick out of your psp (I don’t know if its necessary but i do it)
3. Select the option restart vsh menu
4. put your memory stick in once it fully restarts
5. Enjoy your homebrews

if u wanna try plugin.prx u need a floder called SEPLUGINS in this floder u put the txt-file VSH.TXT out of your hb u wanna try or & BOOT.TXT (or others 4appswitcher appswitcher.txt) in it. My boot.txt:

1. surely we talk about tn-hen but it has also work in the hbl
2. make a floder seplugins at the root of ur ms and put the prx plugin file in ad the nessecary lines in txt-file if u have more plugins with vsh.txt files. In some cases u can make a hb run.
by doing this i could run iphone ubuntu protectme prxdecrypter appswitcher and win maybe more i post a big list of working games and app if no one do it soon.
ok all apps and emultors tested wich work with hbl are working 100% with tn-hen6.2 patched ver. This list u can find a bit down @ this page.

Snes emulators wont start and shutdow, N64 for TN-HEN shutdown device but N64 emulator downloaded with Twisted starts but speed is low, HEN starts with no problems. Almost same as HBL nothing better for me at this moment 🙁 Waiting for patch…
For people who want to know if the hen works on 4g. I have a psp 3010 v6.20 and I used vflame’s patch and it works perfectly. I have tried the following without anyh problems:
fce ultra
snes9xtyl
uo gpsp kai 3.2
there is no need to format your mc or even reset your settings, if you are having issues with the hen, make sure you are using the correct one first before saying you are having a problem, i’m not a developer or a computer genius, but it just takes common sense to run the hen
I remember back in the old days of 5.03 that after ChickHEN we used to boot a cfw enabler. Why can’t we do the same now??

@tigerchitpile Total_Noob has stated that he is currently working to port the HEN to higher firmwares, namely 6.35. This could be expected to be released sometime in January/February.
really sorry wololo but… I am having a deep touble. i just bought my psp1001 and found out it has a 6.35ofw on it…. man, i was goin to kill my self out of anger.
i went back to the shop and they said it used to have cfw on it.
so dont get me wrong i didnt update it. he did…that F$@%er

i use 3004 to. Does hen load if u load the savegame if not u have to replace hbl/menu/EBOOT.PBP with the tn eboot.pbp.
My PSP-1003 on 6.20 running the HEN will not load anything apart from Wagic!! Sometimes when I start Sens9xtyl it just goes back to the XMB, otherwise on anything else it just crashes at the gameboot screen!!! Please help…not making any sense. :'(
I was able to run the HEN but psp would still crash when I load SNES and Daedalus emus, any compatible homebrew/application for this (updated) version by VirtousFlame?

Virtuous Flame’s patch works perfectly for me. However, if you still want to be able to access the HBL menu instead of just going directly into HEN mode, I suggest you move the EBBOT.PHP in this new package into the HEN folder in GAME. Don’t replace the HBL Menu EBOOT. Just a thought.
I’m using a psp3004 and most homebrew works but I can’t get super mario war to work. When I try to run an message comes up saying the game cannot be started. Has any one else had the problem ad is there a fix?
@Suplayer Noobs never learn, do they? By a Pandora’s battery and you can get all the cfw you want, you idiot. All those on PSP 1000’s using this HEN are either extremely stingy or extremely stupid.

Still you could have problems like PSP crash when running homebrew. So you that method if im right:
1. Run patapon
2. Open HEN using hbl
3. When you return to xmb pop OUT your? memory stick
4. Press SELECT and choose RESTART VSH
5. When PSP turn on push in your memory stick.
6. Hombrews working now
You and Total_Noob should take a deserved rest now… You fought bravely, even with this bunch of ungrateful kids around the world. We all know that this HEN will be patched perfectly in no time!

For those guys having issues on snes9xtyl, for me uoSnes is way more stable. About N64 I don’t know alternatives, sorry!
glad people on 6.20 are happy and merry Christmas everyone!!!! but when should we expect to see hen for 6.35? (i have 6.31 on my psp go n1001(it originally came with 5.70 i think)) i have no idea how long it takes to port a hen maby 2 weeks? a month?
