TN Hen: unofficial patch for PSP 3000 by ??????
Many people have been complaining that the Hen released a few hours ago is not working correctly on some PSP3000 models. Chinese developer ?????? (virtuous flame) has posted an unofficial fix for the issue. The “hack” fixes a problem were TN Hen doesn’t correctly recognize newer models of PSP3000. (For those who don’t know, some PSP300 are recognized as 3g, but newer ones as 4g).
I haven’t tested this fix myself (my PSP3000 is now running 6.31), so use at your own risk and report here 🙂

ya everyone seems to have homebrew problems and yellow i think u may be right on the whole psp gen giving us the bugged one maybe we should c what tn posted on his blog and let him know whats going on
@betoo pico drive works fine on my psp mmmm but some game i launch did that same thing when the psp boot came up and it just crashes did you get the latest save data.

hey everyone i can confirm that it now works even ultimatepsptube2.0 which was not working worked now just on restore default settings and put umd auto start off and umd cache off and thats it.

the first time i runned it, it worked fine. i successfully runned wagic from xmb.
but after a while, anything i load from xmb just crashed. weird.

hey thanx wololo, total noob and the unknown chinese friend .nearly tried a lot before but thz patch fixes it with a single try .my psp is psp 3004,6.20 ofw ,hbl rev 101 ,only change i made is that chinese fix and config txt to 1
AT EVERY 3000 USER THAT CAN’T GET HOMEBREWS TO WORK READ HERE
This new Chinese Patch WORKS it enables HEN. I am running Sonic CD Full speed PLUS sound full speed no lag at all.
There is a trick, open TN VSH Menu and click “restart VSH” the screen will go black once it does right away pop out ur memory stick, once it completely starts back up put the memory stick back in and try a homebrew, it works. I have only tested this with Sonic CD.

I have now tested UMD’s work, gpsp Kai works, master boy works, pico drive works (sonic cd NOW HAS SOUND :DDDD), snes works, psx games bought from playstation network still work.
Standby works in all emulators, and exiting each emulator and game still works.
I’ve tested more homebrews (and this time real homebrews not emulators P:)
Wagic: Works
Zelda Return of the Hylian: Works
Jazz Jackrabbit port: Works
I should also confirm that USB mode and transferring works while in HEN mode, and also noticed that all other emulators mentioned have ran much faster. Sonic CD even runs faster than my hacked PSP 1001. I’m able to get more games to run with less problems.
PS I can’t take credit for this trick I originally saw it posted by “blahblah” on pspslimhacks, except his said to have your UMD drive open, I left mine closed and it didn’t make a difference.
picodrive has sound, even from HBL without HEN.
the no sound bug has been fixed a loooooong time ago.
in rev 84 or something.
Sonic CD (SEGA CD GAME!!!) didn’t have sound, and it ran slow and laggy… it wouldn’t import all the mp3’s like the background level.

My original issue was instant crashing upon loading HBL. I installed the patch, and could get back to the xmb (system data would show I was running TN-A) but then it would crash when I tried to load a homebrew. I tried a few other tricks out there, such as formatting and restoring system defaults but that didn’t seem to work. I eventually installed HBL revision 101, and managed to get my snes9x to load up twice but then it continued to black screen on me. I tried the cache/auto-boot off, and it still didn’t work. I tried jame’s trick and tadaaa.
For those concerned, and for records sake:
PSP-3001
HBL rev 101
Unofficial HEN patch (located in x:HBL/GAME)
UMD Auto-Start – Off
UMD Cache – Off (works with it on as well.)
Under VHS menu:
CPU clock XMB/GAME – Disable
Fake region – Disabled
Skip gameboot – Enabled (works disabled as well.)
Everything else I’ve left default and haven’t fiddled with.
I’ve only tested this with three emulators and PSPComic, but it’s worked perfectly each time I’ve pulled the mem card/vsh reboot trick. If you have a better suggestion on selected options or another workaround that’s worked with the same HBL/patched options pleeaase lemme know.

guys great news well kinda i just descovered something new with the origonal version idk if itll work for the new one that is posted here but after u get hen running remove your mem stick click select and click on restart vsh before you play any games and when u decide to leave a game u must restart vsh before starting another without the memstick in i have psp tube working among uo gpsp kai wich is a gba emulator hope this is of help if so lemme know if u cant get a hold of me here just send me a quick email to takandlok@gmail.com
p.s. umd games work the same way i think something is wronge with its rebooting or something

2 -> 64mb Sony
HEN Starting on 1 and 2

@BlkHalo use the method suggested by williand
for the people that the hen crash when load a homebrew just do this (psp 3000):
– activate the HEN
– Extract the Memory Stick
– With the memory out, go to the vsh menu and restart the HEN
– plug-in the memory again
– Enjoy your homebrews
It worked, but I need to do it everytime I want to load a new homebrew 😀

Thanks wololo, will test this ASAP! Anyway, the crash might be releated to the type of mobo, I have a TA-090v2. PSPident works so maybe we all can check the troublesome mobos so there could be a solution. Is there someplace to leave bug reports either here or somewhere else? I tried PSPgen forums but I’m not that fluent in French. Merry Christmas!
