TN Hen going “gold”
I chatted a bit with Total_Noob a few hours ago, who confirmed to me that the first public release of his Hen is ready and has been sent to pspgen yesterday. I assume the staff at pspgen will now be testing the Hen for a little bit, making sure there is no last minute bug, before they make the public release.
I can see that there’s electricity in the air, just by looking at the spike in visits yesterday, seems I’m not the only one waiting for this release 🙂
I just REALLY REALLY wish that TN had NEVER announced at ANY point that his HEN was going to be released on 6.3x
When he did that about a month back, I upgraded to 6.31 immediately. Now, I regret this decision. Why did I upgrade? Becuase, I have a PSP GO!
The PSP GO depends on PSN. NO PSN=NO GAMES. So, if I didnt upgrade I wouldnt have any games to play. It just seems unfair. I have been very supportive.
And, for Christmas guys like me get nothing.

@Muffinhead i feel you bro but if you are going to blame anyone blame yourself i have my psp 6.20 from april and i listen what wololo said not to update so it pays off.
We’re sorry for the misunderstanding but, we will not release the HEN due to too many PSP users. Instead of the HEN, we will give you a homebrew game to use on the HBL. Its only 773KB. This game took 4 minutes to make and we hope you enjoy it. Have fun with the homebrew game while we enjoy CXMB,Plugins, ISO’s and other Apps.

Correction: There will be one, just not now… It’ll need to use a different exploit — the two mentioned at the moment being a VSH exploit (Home menu) or a demo exploit. Personally I’d prefer if TN could use the “Minna no Sukkiri” demo exploit for 6.35, that way something uesful could be used via the VSH on a newer firmware if Sony doesn’t already discover the unprotected code…

what TN has done is really great and of course it takes a lot of testing which is easier when you have whole team behind you.
so, to make it short: giving HEN to pspgen can actually accelerate testing and can bring nearer release date.
I asked this earlier in this post, but my question got [predictably] drowned out.
I have a PSP Go using OFW 5.70. I want to update it to OFW 6.35 soon (as to avoid having to update to an inevitable OFW 6.36) to log onto the PSN get the promotional games for logging in with a Go.
Main point: I wouldn’t mind waiting the extra time it would take for TN Hen 6.35 to come out.
Is there any drastic reason for me not to do this? For example, is there a reason for me to stay in OFW 5.70, or am I going to have to update to 6.20 anyway for the upcoming TN Hen in the next few days?
@ Chow Why update to 6.35 when you can update to 6.20 or anything below that, which is what the first edition of the HEN is being released for? If you want to update to 6.35, expect to wait till at least January 2011 for a HEN that is compatible with your firmware.
