New pictures of the PSP2

The site VG247 has revealed what could probably be a test model of the PSP2. According to them, a newer design is already available for developers (the design showed on these pictures could have overheat problems?).

Gamers will notice the two analog pads, a feature that we’ve all been dreaming about.

This model also has a front and rear cameras, to me this indicates Sony is trying to fight back against the recent trends of “video conference” in tablets and smartphones, which are clearly the new threats for mobile gaming.

The psp2 apparently won’t have a touch screen, but the rear of the console seems to be some kind of trackpad. There’s no way to be 100% sure that this is true, but all of these features confirm previous information I’ve had from insider sources, as well as various leaks from the past weeks.

Thanks to Abdullah for the tip!

I wonder if this screen size is much bigger than psp go and battery pack can be replaced easily.

I hope the touch pad stuff isn’t used for everything. I sometimes like to play my games or mess with my homebrew while they PSP is laying flat on the table…

yea… it loooks like it was made in the 90′s… then again… this is only a test console, not the final product.

It looks like fake…and yes,I dont like the design…I hope the psp2 would load a more clear screen, and the battery could work a longer time once charged, also,a better name not simply a 2 added behind its tail.XD

ZOMG! I hope it will support UMD but most probably not =/
I’m sorta surprised in a way that it doesn’t have touch screen but meh. PSP2 doesn’t need it =P
Yay for dual thumbsticks though *-* Yay~!
Looks quite Nintendo for some reason~
And the camera idea sorta makes it sound like the DSi haha XP
Hmmm…. Still, I was hoping for a change in design because I don’t like the actual look of the PSPGo x.x Meh~

The photos could not be more granular, is not it? It seems even pictures of extraordinary cases that only appear grainy and / or blurry.

lookin’ good but, it’ll be sweet to finally be able to properly play a FPS(one analog camera one movement), but im not liking the idea of a trackpad, seems like it’ll just be bothersome.

I would assume that, (hopefully) the PSP2=/=PSPhone. Kind of like the iPod touch and iPhone.

VG247 took the pics from a spy camera or something like that and spy cameras have very poor quality. That is why they could not have taken a better pic.

I wanted the two analog under not above the buttons. I’m use to using my thumb for analogs and my index finger for the buttons. How can you possibly play monster hunter with that :P
