TN Hen: more progress, looking more and more like a CFW
Total_Noob posted a quick update on his blog to talk about his progress over the week (thanks to Tomcluse for the tip):
- – Reversed all systemctrl exports
- – Added USB battery charging
- – Added ability to watch 480×272 avc video
- – Added feature to skip gameboot
- – Added possibilty to hide PIC0.PNG and PIC1.PNG
- – Fixed issue with some VLF homebrews
- – Added possibilty to adjust CPU speed
- – Added fake region feature
- – Added TN network update
- – Resolved all important NIDs
- – Increased homebrew compatibilty
- – Compressed rebootex
In simpler words, Total_Noob is slowly adding to his Hen the features that you would normally see in a CFW. I’m personally crossing fingers for an unlock on the extra 32MB, and I hope plugin support will make it too. Total_Noob told me he has support for PSPLink now, but I couldn’t confirm it, either because I didn’t setup my PSP correctly, or maybe because of a tiny bug in the early beta I got.

Meanwhile, dridri is reporting progress on his ISO Loader on our forums, hopefully this will work with little additional effort when the Hen is released.

lmao, so harsh XD but yeah i agree if he is going to lie like that he should go f*ck himself.
@MNX You could make a fast menu for the HEN when it is released or you could easily just take the HEN and drop it in the HBL folder on the root of your memory stick and rename the folder menu so that when you load the Patapon 2 save and press the right trigger it will load the HEN instead of the Menu.
Any more update on a release date yet?
will there be a possibility that there will be a plug in or whatever it is call which will can make possible to play 6.30/6.31 games or 6.xx whatever will be the next and can you give a % rating for the progress on the HEN ?

That’s the whole point about releasing the HEN on 6.31!
If you are already on 6.31, then you dont have to worry about ‘patching’ games and running ‘plugins’ for this purpose. It will be one less thing to worry about in the conversion process. As your machine will already meet the firmware requirements.
At 6.20, people will THEN complain about how they cant run any of the newer games that are being released now and in the last 2 months that are already on 6.3x without some kind of ‘patching’ specific to the compatibility of the newest firmware. It will be a noobie nightmare. (pun unintended but implied)
This is why I feel a 6.31 HEN and/or VSH release will alleviate all the future problems. Not too mention, that by the time TN releases ANYTHING, there will be a ton of NEW psp owners who will be on….wait for it…….6.31!

@Nikos0067 there is a way to update to 6.20 but i personally think you should wait until the hen is released … you never know what happens 🙂

as Nickolas mentioned, I don’t recommend upgrading before the Hen is actually released.

This is probably an iso loader invisible, a patch file and installs if necessary and can be started directly from the xmb isos as cf.And it is true.the openideaisoloader is like that.

In fact there I ended ISO Loader, by doing this:
– The reverse of systemctrl.prx 5.00 M33
– Creation of my loader with just the features I need
– 5.00M33 tests to check if the entire loader works
– And changes all the patches from 5.00 ==> 6.20
– And it is assumed that if the loader works and new patches are good, then it should work the first time.
Here it is played on luck. At this stage I have done everything possible to make it compatible, but I am now the HEN to perform final testing.
Otherwise the “new structure” will not pose problems because the loader is a program of very low level that only juggle the duties of reading and writing.

Well If TN is trying to make the HEN like a CFW then there should be a ISO loader in it I know has said that he is not but then too 🙂
but good news is that dridri has taken that job and has created a ISO loader he has to only give a final touch to it he has also tried to make a CFW which is not permanent ( for more info see my above comments 🙂 )
This is a very good news for ISOloader and This will also shape your in a CFW to some extent 🙂
Waiting for the release of HEN .It should be this weekend as the Homebrew work is over I think 🙂

If tn releases the hen with the hot shots golf by now, When do you think Sony will release a new firmware? In my opinion, if Sony doesn’t release a new firmware by the end if the year, tn should add the vsh exploit asap.
@Abdullah He is simply controlling a PSP emulator on the PC through the PSP, not an ISO loader.

There are 2 types of mp4 video formats. One is h264 and the other is avc.
480#272 is the resolution of the psp screen so to get best quality videos, you need to convert a video to that resolution.
Currently the 6.0+ firmwares support only 480#272 in h264 format so with this hen it will support 480#272 avc format.
This is good for noobs who want to convert videos because they just need a simple mp4 converter, know the screen resolutioon of the psp and then they can convert without having to know of the differant types of formats.
Also ipod touches and iphones only support avc format so you could transfer avc videos back and forth between your psp and ipod touch/iphone without the need to convert them.
But when the Hen comes out we should be able to use Pmplayer Advance which plays lots of video formats.

I am a boy from china,I bought a psp go on March,and I have wait 6.20 Hen more than a half year!I want to tell you,please keep waiting,now I use my PSP listenmusic and watch movie.I am also use it play some GBA ,FC,QQ, MD and N64 games under the HBL.If you feel boring now,I think you should downland some GBA games,such as Kirby of The Amazing Mirror .It so interesting.
As you konw,6.20 HEN will be coming on December. A mouth is so quickly for me. Please be more cautious.
