Half byte Loader R97 and wMenu 0.3
This revision fixes a few minor bugs, some of them might be important to you.
- First, a graphical glitch has been fixed. Because of that, Homebrews such as PSP Rhythm were technically unplayable (@Muffinhead: you owe me 😉 ). Others such as FCEUltra or Doom had minor graphical issues because of this.
- Additionally, I added a shortcut to quit homebrews that don’t have an “exit” button. Yes, the “home” button is still broken, but now you can exit most games by pressing select+start for a few seconds. (Note that some homebrews such as gpsp still crash upon exiting, this is unrelated). The “select+start” combination can be changed in the hbl config file, or even customized for each homebrew (as usual, by putting a hbl_config.txt file in the homebrew’s folder)
- The distrib version now ships with wMenu 0.3, which allows you to navigate in subfolders, so you can now split your homebrews in several folders if you use wMenu
- Other minor bugs were fixed, which shouldn’t make any visible difference (check the changelog included for details)

I cant enjoy Fullspeed emus
I’m not using the dev version so I know I can’t officially report a bug (I wouldn’t be sure how to properly go about it anyway), but using R97 and the emulator NesterJ (v 1.11) causes the menus to auto-scroll upwards. It didn’t do this with R96 (and I’ve since downgraded to try it).
I just figured I’d throw this out there so someone else can look into it better than I can.
Hey wololo, nice update for the wmenu. Question: Does this allow customization of the colors? Or do I still need to use my crappy homemade menu to customize colors?

@tonch: just zero out the force exit button in the hbl_config.txt. That’s what I had to do. It was making all my brew hit keys by themselves. I.E. the menu in Picodrive popping up every couple of seconds or Nester’s auto scrolling menu.
If you zero that out, r97 works great.

@tonch: 🙂 Not a problem. Keep in mind that this is still just a temp fix because all your doing is disabling the force exit feature added by wololo. But the hbl works fine. Can I guess that your using a psp3000? Just wondering…

@oxmudxo: don’t worry. Wagic updates are still happening. Less often than before, but the forum is more lively than ever and we get regular updates to the SVN. Check the forums, next release will have mulligan, more cards, etc…

But HBL does indeed work fine if I just comment out the force-exit feature with a #.

did you know that with the explorer function you can load wMenu 0.2 if you have aside form hbl on your memstick i tried it and it was so weird
Can we expect to see a speedup of homebrews like Daedalus on the PSP Go? Its good that you’ve managed this speed upgrade but it sucks for us 3000 users.
Great work guys. I remember back at the beginning of the year when I got my PSP 3001 I updated my psp to 6.2 ofw without knowing wha tI was actually doing. Untill a few months ago I’ve regretted that act. I was checking the web everday, then I gave up hope. But when I found out they released 6.3, i knew there was some sort of ‘hack’. AND VOILA!!! Half-byte loader to the rescue…

Hi Wololo! Can tell me why daedalus don’t work on my psp with the hblR97 and daedalusR13. I’ve a psp 3004 with OFW 5.55. Can you also make compatible the HBL with a popsloader to play my old PSONE game i’ve purchased and now if i want to play with it i’ve to pay another time to sony that’s not just.

Hey, Is there anyway to speed up the emulators? My gba emulator goes pretty slow at times and lags. Is there a fast one or is there a way to make it go faster? I don’t even dare try Daedulus.
