Half Byte Loader on OFW 6.30
Mamosuke just informed me that coder J416 started porting Half Byte Loader to firmware 6.30, based on his game exploit previously found on 6.30.
Before you get your hopes too high:
- I haven’t tested this and I don’t know the name of the game, but I trust mamosuke (and therefore J416 as well), so I know this is real
- This is still work in progress and might take a few weeks before it is usable
- This relies on a game exploit, which is not a Demo. It means that people would have to buy that game, and additionally, it will most likely be patched very quick on the PSN, so interest is limited for PSP Go owners (although rumors say that a solution exist against Sony patching their games on the PSN)
To mamosuke and J416: Good luck guys, you know my email address if you need help on this. Also, please keep in mind that HBL is GPL, so if you release this, we’ll be expecting the sources as well 😉
wololo is the game expensive? i just heard about this yesterday and i know mamosuke and j4 are working together but im not sure if ur in that scene too O_O

the exploit for 6.30/6.31 relies on a regular game, not a demo.
so you would have to buy that game, AND sony will patch it very quick on PSN.
yea i know its a game that needs buying so ima keep some extra money saved on my bank account so when its announced i buy it as soon as i get off work if im at work or whenever im at home, anyways how long do you think it will take sony to patch it?
and how long do ya estimate the release of this ported HBL
@crisiscore-x- : I think the game will be removed from the PSN store sometime between 30 minutes and 1h after the name of the game gets revealed.
I believe Sony have alerts mechanisms when an unexpected amount of copies of a given game get sold, which is why I think it’s a matter of a few minutes before they take action.
Regarding the price of the game, I can’t tell you. It’s your regular game, and hopefully it’s old enough to be cheap, and yet recent enough to have UMD stock. Whatever happens, the prices will skyrocket for the UMD version if the hack is revealed.

@crisiscore-x- : yes, I think newer versions will work, but as far as I know J416 is currently porting Revision 85.
To everyone, don’t stop sleeping just because of the “game being removed from the psn” thing. Obviously, if the hack is only usable for a handful of people, it will be considered useless and we will look for something else.

I think the game is activated hbl Japanese demo patapon 3 because I have my demo and I get the same letters that j416 in the 2.22-minute video ….. that is what I think
